Arrived just after they opened on a Saturday. If this was an east end pub it’d be packed because it’s REALLY nice, I don’t know the location well but it seems off the beaten track. Very quiet from 12ish and starting getting busier at 3pm. Music playing was classic rock and some 80s pop. Currently table service. Ordered the halloumi fries (delicious! With minty yoghurt and pomegranate seeds) and then the mac and cheese - one with bacon and one without - and they were hot, tasty, but not too heavy. Ordered a bottle of Prosecco and got given raspberries and sparkling glasses. Attentive service and would definitely return.

Part 2 Sunday roast - get the beef short rib. You won’t be disappointed Part 1 The Prince George is a great family run pub with a great South African Themed menu! Try the curry, it’s was so delicious with a big kick. My partner said the burgers always taste great. Haven’t been in a while but have been to a few Tuesday Night pub quizzes hosted by Adam. Always a great laugh! They have always been so accommodating when going with a friend which needed to have a Gluten Free menu, they were extremely helpful in this regard, cooked her meal separate so there was no gluten contamination. Well done!

Came here as a last night choice due to our recent visit to Harry Potter world. The staff were extremely inviting from the start which was lovely and, as we weren’t locals, made us feel extremely welcomed. Music was good and the food was out of this world. So homely and comforting and full of flavour. Definitely worth a tip!!

Service was very good but sadly food quality wasn't like that. Roast was not Sunday magical. Other meal was not enjoyed or finished. What they called an apple and berry crisp was simple dry ingredients thrown on top of what I believe was delightful fruit...think of protein powder spooned on top of warm fruit. Couldnt finish. The final coffee was good.

Simply delicious. Couldn't fault the food! Huge, tasty, well cooked and very fine cuts of meat. This is the pork, the lamb and the beef. Roast of course. Lovely staff, warm and friendly atmosphere. The whole restaurant sang my mum happy birthday without prompt 😄 She was so delighted. 4 stars only because the restaurant room is a bit noisy (wooden floor). And they need to sharpen their knives so you can enjoy your meal without quite so much effort. Idea already passed on! We will be back. Loved it 😍

Really amazing place all round!! Lovely pub with a nice relaxed, slightly quirky and welcoming vibe! Staff are absolutely great, so attentive, friendly and absolute pleasure to deal with. The food is really top notch, I had the South African burger. It was delicious, cooked to perfection and served with fabulous chips too! It's really reasonably priced and they also have a great wine list, again this is really reasonably priced for really good quality wine! Lots of my friends have visited to and recommended the place. Everyone has only positive things to say! We love this place, check it out cannot recommend highly enough!

The food was absolutely incredible. We all had a roast. The lamb was spectacular! One of the best I've had. The pub itself is looking slightly outdated, but the food is 100% worth it.

The best pub in Watford, by miles. Food is unbelievable, staff are lovely/friendly and they make you feel at home. Although it’s irrelevant, the barman, Matthew, dresses fantastically 😉

Excellent service. Food is amazing. Sandra went out of her way to accommodate at short notice a funeral gathering. Coeliac and vegetarian options were also available. Only downside, is parking. There is a car park down the road, if the pub car park is full.

Absolutely fantastic pub, we called for a drink whilst we decided what to do for tea after a long day at Harry Potter world. Why did we need to decide - this place does amazing food at fab prices so we didn't move. Nothing was too much trouble and we all enjoyed. Will defo be recommending to everyone and returning next time we head to London x

Quite a small cosy pub with excellent food. Slightly more upmarket than usual pub. Smallish beer garden out back. Pub attracts people looking for a decent meal and not somewhere for sport, pool, fruit machines etc.

I've been meaning to post a review the last time I visited as it was just so damn good! Easter roast beef was just divine and the staff, owners are all wonderful people who make you feel welcome and part of the family! I don't say this lightly, but it's the best roast I've ever had, honestly if you're reading this, get over there and experience for yourself. Absolutely top notch!!

We went for a Sunday roast today, 29th January, I was more than a little shocked to be told after querying the content of garlic in the roast dinner, our waitress who was lovely, asked the chef and was told that the entire roast is cooked with garlic in it. We can’t eat garlic and there was only one starter and two mains that were garlic free, on the entire menu. I’ve never known this before, why??? Not really catering for everyone are they. Unless you can eat garlic I would avoid this pub. If we weren’t in a large party, we would have left and gone elsewhere, where the menu is more accommodating. What happened to the great British traditional roast? This is one place I would not go back to, not even for free. The food we did have wasn’t great, it was luke warm and disappointing, if I could have given zero stars I would have.

Excellent food.. loved the South African theme running through the choices. The pub had a relaxed and cordial atmosphere . Set us up for the fantastic family party at the pub later. Many thanks to all the staff!

Food was nice, but took over an hour to be served, alcohol prices touching the sky. Atmosphere in general was not too bad.

Felt very welcome the minute we arrived ,was greeted by a lovely young lady called Tyler,,our first time at this quirky pub ,drinks were brought almost immediately ,we order two roast dinners ,shoulder of lamb absolutely delicious!!!the roast potatoes were to die for !! Vegetables were fresh ,no frozen stuff , Yorkshire puddings were awesome and the gravy unbelievable, I asked for tap water after eating my meal,it was brought promptly ,all in all a fantastic experience at this lovely pub ,we will come again and we live in West London..... ....over the moon we were given a box of extra roast potatoes to take home.. honestly probably the best roasts I've ever had ..Thank you Tyler and the lovely bar staff .. we will be back ..

Couldn't tell you if the food was any good as we walked out. We arrived a little early and was greeted by a disinterested young lady tending the bar who proceeded to hand wave us to the general location of the table we had booked, we then waited 15 minutes without service, not an issue but we decided to leave after watching 2 tables who sat down after us get served ahead of us by the shame young man for each. Quite a shame as we had been looking forward to Sunday Lunch.

The food portion were big, i barely managed to finish my food. The curry taste so nice. My family and i enjoyed the service, the food and the atmosphere of the place. We will definitely visit it again. The people there were nice and accommodating.

What a pleasant surprise in Watford. We were staying at the nearby Holiday Inn and weren’t too excited about the nearby dinner options. We were so pleased to discover The Prince George. Run by a lovely family, the interior was smart, the food spot on with a mix of traditional and, interestingly, South African dishes. (Don’t miss the Dom Pedro). The pub is obviously popular and deservedly so.

Absolutely delicious Sunday roast in Watford. Staff are attentive, beautiful decor and most of all dogs are welcome. Although the servers are quite young they do their job very well. I’ve been to their other branches Horse and chain and The Royal Oak and it’s classic throughout.

Excellent Sunday lunch, the place was buzzing. You can't beat service with a smile either. Definitely worthy of a few more visits as the menu looked good with a South African twist.

Found the pub and menu by accident. Had the best Sunday roast and dessert. Can’t recommend it enough. Great service, fabulous food and lovely wine. Ticked all me my boxes for a lazy Sunday.

Fabulous food and friendly staff made our time here very enjoyable. On our way to Harry Potter and hadn’t booked a table - they kindly squeezed us in at late notice, thank you really lovely Sunday lunch.

Booked a last minute table on a Saturday night for two, first visit since under new ownership, food was great, had the cheese / bacon burger, best I’ve had in a long time, Sandra (I think) was very welcoming and attentive throughout, nice to hear some music in the background too. Great addition to the local area, will definitely be back with friends soon !!

I have just had a wonderful Sunday lunch here. The staff were so friendly, warm, and welcoming - it really added to our overall experience. We were a group of three and concerned about Covid, but the staff put us at ease. We originally tried to sit outside near a heater, but it was obviously very cold. So, they reassured us, and gave us an inside table in a corner, making sure to keep us away from other people. On a busier day, this might not have been as easy, but I really appreciated the effort they went to. The food was great. All three roasts were delicious! I highly recommend and will definitely visit again.
