Came in tonight for some after work drinks and food. Holly & Ollie we're so welcoming and make a lovely long island iced tea! We shared some food platters which were absolutely delish, especially the chicken feast with friends 😍

If i could put 0 stars, I would!! Im not sure who the manager Lee thinks he is. But he talks to his staff as if he works in the army. He has no respect whatsoever, it makes you feel uncomfortable watching him shout orders at his staff members. Not only that manager, but the supervisors I believe their names are Holly and Freya. Their customer service skills are non-existent, they came across very rude, i cannot believe they have been put into such a role

Can’t fault the 2 for 1 cocktails deal. Place is great and nice atmosphere. Music was a good mixture. Bouncers really hyped up the evening and we’re great fun. Staff behind the bar could smile a bit more :-/

It's a nice pub. But went in on a Friday night. Bought drinks and sat at a table. Only to be stormed up to by a member of staff to be told "it's vertical drinking only tonight" told her if that was the case we would happily accept a refund and leave. She stated we codnt have a refund but had to vacate the table. To which we politely refused. But all in all a not good experience. Personally would say there are far better pubs around and would not bother again.

Don't waste your money on sausages and mash! The gravy had red raw onions. The gravy was thick, and hardly given any!. Two small sausages, and one was split open. Absolutely shocking! Not to mention the floor was sticky. Was made to feel uncomfortable by the bar staff. Was told it was cash only! No reason given why! One member rolled her eyes at me when I walked in. I am shocked that staff are allowed to behave in this manner. As a women of colour! I felt extremely uncomfortable! I will never visit the Watford branch again! I might complain to head office. I would not recommend this branch at all! Absolutely disgusting behaviour.

First time in a few years decided to check the newly refurbed slug and lettuce in Watford, was welcomed with amazing hospitality of the staff so couldn’t fault the whole experience for wife’s birthday lunch, however the menu was questionable given everything we kept wanting was advised not in stock or not available for some bizarre reason, from cocktails to food me here to mains… hoping my next visit for food and drink they have all that the full food and drinks menu stateswoman have on offer and not only 30% of it! Thanks to the lovely staff which was my highlight and made up for the lack of menu options….

Went for the two hour bottomless deal between 6 and 8 pm. I had the chicken burger and it was delicious, very tender. No complaints from our party about the food. The drinks kept flowing, our server Amy was exceptional, very friendly and went beyond for us. She found us seats when our 2 hours were up, not easy 2 weeks before Christmas. Music was a great mix and overall a wonderful experience. Thank you again Amy, you were a ⭐.

Decided to make an impromptu stop here while waiting for my car to be fixed. Was greeted and served almost instantly. Staff were lovely and engaging, drink was spot on. Will definitely return and recommend to friends. Thankyou

The venue, drinks, atmosphere, security staff are all amazing. The venue is mixed in age which is nice and seems to cater to all. I have been a few times to this venue and the only down side, and quite a big one, is that the queuing system at the bar is an nightmare. I was frequently having people approaching the bar after myself and were promptly served. I did mention it to the staff and they weren't at all rude about it, but also weren't particularly responsive either

Bottomless beunch was amazing but made even better by the impeccable service we received from jamie! We were 15 mins late but he was still able to seat us and have a drink ready in the first couple of mins and then every few mins after that! 10/10

Came here for bottomless brunch for my birthday with my mates. Had a great time and managed to get a lot of drinks in during the 2 hours. We were served by Sofia who was great and had a great laugh with great customer service

We had an amazing experience for only £32 each we got to meet our fantastic cocktail making guru Ollie who taught us how to make cocktails, we had good fun, banta, shots and snacks … Ollie was an amazing teacher and bags of fun! Thank you Ollie we will be back for sure!

We came to have a bottomless brunch for my friend birthday and we were served by Aimee and her service was impeccable! The atmosphere was super nice and the food and cocktails did not disappoint. Love this place, looked after superbly by Jason and the team. Excellent cocktail S and really nice atmosphere. Happy to give advise on which cocktails to try. Haven’t tried the food but saw others eating and the dishes looked big and very well put together. 👍👍👍👍

A group of 34 of us ate here in Oct-22 for a work event. The team (Briony in particular) was responsive via phone and email so I had no doubt our needs would be met on the day. The deposit required was reasonable and they were very helpful when I had to change the pre order due to additions and cancellations. The venue was set up for us on arrival, and it was clean and well organised. Food was well priced and very tasty. The team were attentive with drinks and everyone got their food as expected, despite there being a large group of us. All the team were very polite and friendly and I would recommend this venue for small or big lunches or dinners. Thanks team!

Very friendly and clean environment. The drinks were great and the service was second to none. We came late afternoon before dinner for my sisters birthday and the staff were most accommodating, even offering colouring facilities for my daughter. Definitely will be coming again! Thank you

Natalie, Holly and Jack were very welcoming and attended to my order very quickly and with a very happy demeanour. We were in a big group and they conducted themselves very well. The bar looked amazing, looks like it is cleaned regularly and it had a really nice relaxed atmosphere. Great place to come for a drink with friends.

Amy & Jason & Lee were amazing today! The service from start to finish was so lovely. Such friendly, kind people. We were all very happy & even helped us when we wanted to take a selfie 😂 definitely coming back sooner rather than later.

We went in for food after having our booster vaccination and my boyfriend fell really poorly from it. The staff were so kind, made sure he had enough ice for his arm, water and a sugary drink, and regularly checked in on us. The staff were just so friendly and helpful, food was great as well! Slug and Lettuce is an amazing venue. Food was amazing. Drinks were tasty. Service was phenomenal. 100% recommend everyone to go.

Not a patch on the Slug & Lettuce on Portsmouth. The outside tables and chairs need a good clean and freshen up.

We attended the Mean Girls Brunch (advertised I believe on social media, my wife made the booking) on Sunday 3rd October. We discovered that the ‘Mean Girls’ theme only covered the themed cocktails which were completely separate in price from the Bottomless Brunch menu and cocktails so attendees couldn’t swap or upgrade to have the Mean Girls cocktails as part of the bottomless offer. The character masks, tiaras and lip sweets were a cute touch though and the soundtrack playing on the PA system but it would have been nice to have the Brunch & Cocktails as a package as it was advertised as such but the small print didn’t match the perception. None of the bar staff had been briefed about this and they did their best to accommodate us but they couldn’t alter the offers in any way other then the rigid way the bills/till worked - the 3 of us in our party thought and said this was poor planning by the company who control S&L. I had a lengthy chat to several of the bar staff working that day (while they were serving myself and other customers) and discovered that a few of them had been working until 4am Sunday morning and were back at the bar from morning/mid afternoon the same day. They looked tired and stressed so I really felt for them having to keep going. I think management need to give them more support and/or more staff so they can get the proper rest they need to do a very demanding job. We did have a good time but it could have been improved if the staff were given more guidance. I think S&L Watford need some more support and forward planning from their company heads.

Unfortunately the staff haven't been trained well on specials. They do their best with what they have but if management don't give them the tools then customers are bound to be dissatisfied. Went for a theme night as advertised however staff barely knew anything about it. Went for a 2 for 1 cocktail also and that too was unknown to them. Management need to organise this better and also give their staff a chance. They looked knackered.
