I decided to try this place again after many years of not being around the way. I also waited for a few visits before I made a review. The Chips are just average and have been well over cooked, both times being way too dark. The saveloy is a family favourite so has been tried both times too, only for the same result. The saveloys were split, edible but no pride in the food. The service is a very strange one. Whether you telephone your order in advance (once ordered approximately 20-25 minutes before) or walk straight in and order. You a left waiting for the order to be cooked and prepared. Upon paying I have waited over 10 minutes for two portions of chips and three saveloys both times. This is a long time for such a small order. Being served by the same member of staff was helpful. It gave me a chance to analyse behaviours towards other customers that was there and how I treated. On both occasions I noticed good customer service and empathy with some customers. Whilst this lacked the basic manners of please and thank you at times. It showed that staff picked and chose to treat different customers differently. Awful customer service. No manners and dropped the food on the counter like it was rubbish. Very unlikely that I will be using this place anytime soon. Much better places to get my fish and chips from.

Very good quality fish and chips all-round. The fish (haddock) was a on the small side for their only size and shockingly defined as 'jumbo' but the batter was crisp, hot, and not soggy. The haddock had good flavour, as for the Rock which had a good size, with a crisp flat batter too. The consistency of external crispness and internal fluffiness on the chips was excellent - a regular portion can feed three people, well. Ordered through Deliveroo, the service was relatively quick and came earlier than service predicted. Highly recommend trying this fish and chip shop for anyone in Hillingdon/via delivery.

One of the best Cod and Chips I've had. Was in the area for the first time too watch the Wealdstone v Barnet match and glad i decided to give Aquarius a go. Well worth a trip if in the area!

Great service and clesnliness. The hygiene is good and the chips were nice but they were a bit crispy and the fish was quality but the batter is like fish fingers. The batter seems to be frozen then fried as its like a blanket stuck to the fish. First time I have seen this batter,not a fan to be honest. Mushy pees are nice but overall its expensive for the fish n chips.

Maxine was brilliant. Friendly greeting, polite and quick service. Great value for money and good quality food.

Been going here since my childhood. Food is amazing. Staff are super polite. Never dined in, but it looks nice, even more so after their renovation. The cod is fantastic. Chip portions and taste are fantastic. The halal sausages are fantastic. The curry sauce is fantastic. The tartar sauce is fantastic.

Tasteless chips- do not taste as fresh nor tasty when compared to other chippies. That said, there are a great variety of other menu options like veggie spring roll (deep filled with lots of veg and a delicious creamy sauce inside) calamari, squid rings, pie, saveloy. Great options of grilled fish, fish and chip boxes/scampi boxes which are great value for money. Their tartar sauce is gourmet👌 top quality and is like no other! Best I have ever tasted! Friendly polite staff

Beautiful cod chips and tartar sauce for under £9 Great value for money. Lovely clean shop with polite staff. Great trading fish and chips are devine. No wonder why the huge queues outside. Like the fact they have two doors one for take away walk in customers other for delivery drivers who are so impatient.

I have been going to Aquarius for years and it never fails to disappoint! I highly recommend it. Really lovely food! I ordered through delivery and it was quick, the food was still hot and the portions are great. Really good value for money. Will continue to be my go to fish and chip shop.

This place has gone down so much the prices have gone through the roof and the portion sizes and quality has decreased dramatically £9.90 for a tiny piece of fish they call Jumbo. it’s unbelievable they charge £3.40 for a small amount of chips and 30% of the portion is dried up crumbs. When you charge the astronomical prices, at least give the customer what they pay for. The only good thing left is the Tartar sauce. If I could give this place a ZERO I would

I may be wrong, but I feel like this once great fish and chips shop has gone downhill. It used to be the best in the area and maybe beyond. They have redecorated twice in about a year. The most recent has turned it into a takeaway only and the staff seem to have changed and felt less friendly. Not that they were rude or anything, but the old staff were really welcoming. I might have just gotten a one off poor order, but not sure. It's still great, maybe the old staff still work there, just not when I arrived. Edit: I've revised my review to five stars as although this one time the order was a bit off, it's always been top tier. I don't think it fair to rate poorly off one experience. To the owner, I did not mean the comment about becoming a takeaway to be negative. It made a lot of sense as the shop was always crowded before, and for good reason as it has always been great. The queues and crowds probably speak more of this than my review ever could.

Have now had fish and chips a couple of times from here for me and my dear old mum. The fish is lightly battered and not too greasy and well cooked without being dry. Chips are crisp and not greasy. Chip portions are huge. Friendly and efficient staff.

Lovely fish and chips. Cooked to perfection. The team of staff here are very attentive and serve with a smile. Definitely recommend very highly well worth a visit if your passing. Must try there Tartar sauce which Is amazing as is the chips. Great taste

So good had to review Aquarius. Lovely sustainable packaging the cod was nice and tender. Crisp chips served with delicious Tartar sauce. Friendly service with state-of the art decor and super clean. Very highly recommended.

My favourite chip shop in the area. I'm happy to travel to Ruislip Manor despite having two chip shops in a walking distance. They only offer take out at the moment so we enjoy little picnic in a local park time to time.

Just got fish and chips from Aquarius And not one single bit of grease Large chips are £4 something and sound steep but trust me there massive portions so I can justify spending that much money on them. fed three of us easy.there is no point in looking for another place as Aquarius is 10/10 so don't take the risk in looking for anything else as this the best I've ever had 🤷🏼

My go to for the best fish and chips in town. Maxine is the best waitress in London. The boss man isn't too bad either I suppose!

This fish and chip shop is the best in the area! The fish was nice and crispy and the chips were perfect too. Maxine always has a smile on her face very friendly staff and clean environment! Can’t wait to purchase again. Thank you for your lovely customs, I really enjoyed my meal.

Chatted with them if they were able to take gluten free patrons who have allergies. In the chat they said they could accommodate me, but when I arrived the manager said that they would have cross contamination between their gluten free and regular fryer. At least the manager knew enough to warn me and help keep me safe, but I wouldn’t have made the trip if I knew that cross contamination was a possibility.

Food is always Great. Last few times on my visits the fish seems bigger and much more flavor some a lot whiter and much better quality. The chips are always a huge portion enough for the whole family if you buy the extra large. To accompany they do a fabulous Homemade tartare sauce. I’ve seen the grilled fish 🐟 looks great and will try that on our next visit with the lovely Mediterranean Turkish salad 🥗 they do along with the pomegranate drizzle. Devine establishment and a credit to Ruislip. No wonder this place has won 🥇 so many awards 🏆

Love this place, their fish is literally the best quality you’ll find! Very nice staff, and the equiptment and surroundings is always really clean. The oil is fresh too which you can taste from the batter and the chips. Definitely recommended, I travel to go here as it’s worth it!

Not as good as it was pre covid, miss the home made coleslaw, the sides and the atmosphere of the queues down the shop/tables inside. However, it still does the best cooked fish in Hillingdon, unbeaten by anywhere else!

If thats a jumbo cod I’d hate to see how small a regular is, the jumbo cod must be a supermodel because its two inches across. I didn’t ask for your two incher did I? Fish over cooked, dry inside, tasteless. For £16.50 for a jumbo cod small chips and a chicken pie its not only badly cooked, its also well overpriced. Won’t be going back

I'd reviewed this a couple of years ago where I'd suggested that the long delay may have been cos they were fishing for the cod before frying it. I am thrilled that things have indeed moved on. Phone ahead and it's ready. I'm delighted to give this fine establishment the full 5 🌟. I won't be leaving it so long to go back, in fact I'm making this an early new year resolution to visit on a regular basis. Aquarius, my chip shop of choice.

Excellent fish n chips coming from another caterer. The service is wonderful, rations of chips lovely thin batter with great chunks of cod served with delightful tartar sauce. Packaging is sustainable. Perfect take away credit to management and owners. 👏🏼👏🏼

Aquarius never manages to disappoint! Despite being busy on Friday and Saturday evenings they still manage to pull off the best fish and chips. Yes there may be many customers ordering at the same time during the evening, they still manage to take care of orders swiftly. The 3-4 people working at the front are professional and can always crack a joke and have an engaging conversation with customers which can truly brighten their day/experience. The truly do value their customers and always provide reassurance to customers where needed, looking out for the people who have allergies or are new to the shop. Shout out to the owner for hiring amazing staff who know how to approach customers and work during busy hours. Highly recommend this place for people who enjoy a traditional fish and chips!
