My
boyfriend
and
I
came
into
the
store
to
purchase
a
couple
of
polos
and
some
caps
for
my
dad.
We
were
immediately
greeted
by
a
member
of
staff
who
asked
if
we
wanted
help.
We
politely
declined
and
continued
to
browse
as
he
watched
over
us
and
followed
our
every
step
around
the
small
shop
floor.
He
made
us,
two
young
retail
managers
ourselves,
feel
very
uncomfortable.
Then,
as
we
browsed
the
folded
tables
(no,
we
didn't
unfold
anything)
he
asked
again
if
we
needed
help.
This
time
the
subtext
was
clear
-
we
weren't
welcome
in
the
store.
We
both
shrugged
it
off
and
had
a
look
at
a
heavy
winter
jacket
near
the
window
display,
maybe
four
steps
from
where
he
had
last
asked
us,
only
to
be
asked
again
if
we
needed
help.
His
arms
crossed,
legs
spread
and
brow
raised
he
waited
for
an
answer.
I
said,
"No
thanks,
just
browsing
right
now."
He
then
scrunched
his
face
in
confusion
and
exhaled
as
though
he
didn't
understand
why
we
hadn't
gotten
the
message
and
left
yet.
Needless
to
say,
I
was
ready
to
take
my
business
elsewhere
and
we
went
straight
to
Ralph
Lauren
where
we
received
amazing
service.
Good
luck
on
garnering
customers
if
your
staff
is
that
judgemental
and
intimidating.
We
will
never
be
purchasing
from
Lacoste.
