👍👍 It was my first time back to the library in awhile, I had a few late library books, didn't have a library card and needed help locating a book, I was a mess. But this lovely young woman named Rachel was so sweet and helpful! Fantastic customer service from her! People often mention library, librarians, books, helpful, study,

The staff here have been very accomodating and helpful especially on questions with books and reading materials. I just had a terrible experience today when I asked the lady with curly hair, whose office is the first one on the left when you turn left after you get through the entrance door, and before you get to the kids section. I asked her where to drop off the election ballot and she dismissed me and brushed me off like I've grown two heads asking her about it. I expect the library to be a resource place and people there should be accomodating. But that was not the case with that lady. She wasn't knowledgeable and at the same time she was so curt and dismissive. She shouldn't be working there in the first place. She was so ready to get out the door just because it was almost closing. She was driving a Ford car. Hope that staff get to read this to know that she's giving Hercules library a bad name. City of Hercules should inform her where the drop off boxes are, moreso she should volunteer for the Election, and also take Public relation classes. So rude!

This library is da bomb! Brand new with an excellent huge kids section, complete with a spaceship play room. Super friendly and helpful librarians. Private study rooms. Outside area with tables to eat at. I really love this library. We live in Pinole and come here often.

We love our library. Clean and fun for the kids. The staff are sweet and helpful. First time back after they had closed for COVID19. Everyone in masks. We got a huge stack of books to make up for lost time.

Not my local library, but I still travel here to study because it’s beautiful (and way better than the Pinole Library). Wonderfully designed to be very open and have a lot of natural lighting. Lots of parking, a nice alcove where you can study outside, and state of the art technology (still waiting for WiFi printing though). There are regulars that visit and it’s nice to see everyone from senior citizens to moms and their babies. The librarians are always very kind and respectful to the homeless (something you don’t always see). I wish the hours were better, but I understand that that decision is above them. And I wish they had more available outlets! Very limited access. I wish the librarians were a little more aggressive about handling noise complaints — they literally let people have full phone conversations in quiet spaces.

Clean and orderly library. The librarians are nice especially in the children’s area. Always come here with my 4 kids. I just hope people will keep their voices down and be more respectful to librarians and others who are trying to study.

State-of-the-art computer services, and helpful librarians make this spot a wonderful gem in Hercules. Great place to relax and read, do some research, or bring the kids for storytime. There is plenty of seating in this new building with notable architectural features and lovely views of a garden.

It was fine except for the people talking and having a full conversation when you're in the library

The library used to be a great place before covid hit. You could find quiet places to study, and it had a large collection of books. The librarians themselves were very helpful. However, when covid hit, the management changed and so did the librarians. They became snarky and lazy, refusing to check out books at a pace faster than a snail. They would act aggressive and antagonize their customers. Once, an acquaintance of mine was yelled at for not listening to their policy. My acquaintance had gone there for many years, and all they wanted to do was check out their link plus. Not only did the librarian call over a manager, but the manager also started yelling at my acquaintance. I wish the librarians realized that their customers do not care about their policy when they simply want to check out books.

My children and I adore this library. Lots of space, great variety of books/genres, awesome staff. Events are fun here - always something to do. Great place to spend a couple hours on a Saturday.
