Purchasing a RAV4 Hybrid XSE is no easy task right now. Before specific comments about Putnam, disclaimer: make sure you’re obtaining offers from various dealers and getting the best deal for you. Added items are not “required” by the dealer - it’s all negotiable. Read online reviews about the extended warranty packages and maintenance plans. The finance office will try to sell you on those products. Seth at Putnam made the process honest and simple. Most of all, Seth’s open communication and responsiveness should be truly valued. I had offers from many dealerships, I knew what the MSRP would be with all packages wanted, and Seth was willing to find a price that worked for us both. 10/10 would recommend him to others.

Came in on a Sunday for a new vehicle. Was deciding between going with a Toyota or Honda. Hendrik came out to assist us. We told him what we were looking for- mainly a smaller hybrid vehicle like a Prius or Corolla Hybrid. Unfortunately, they did not have any available on the lot. Showed us a Camry hybrid that they did have and the Corollas they do have. Hendrik was patient and allowed us the time to check out each of the vehicle and browse the cars on the lot. Did not feel pressured or swayed to go with a particular car or to a higher trim level. Had our eyes on the Corolla SE. We told Hendrik that we are also looking at Hondas as well and that we would like to check them out before making a decision. He told us to do that and gave his business card if we came back to get a Toyota. No pressure at all and instead let the Toyota vehicles speak for itself. After checking out Honda, we've decided to go back to Hendricks and get the Corolla SE. no hassle at all. Let us test drive it. During the test drive and after the purchase, he took the time to explain all the features of the car. We appreciate Hendrik allowing us the time to decide what car was best for us without pressuring us to buy unlike some of the salesperson that we've worked with in the past. Putnam Toyota and Hendrik are the best! My family was looking everywhere for a 2023 Rav 4 Hybrid XLE Premium in white with ashtek interior. We are So Cal based and looked literally everywhere listed on Toyota’s website for inventory. We found a list of dealers across the country that had the vehicle and called every one of them. After being told, “the vehicle is already pre sold” or we have one coming in but the dealer mark-up is $7,000-$10,000 due to market conditions. Longo Toyota, Toyota’s largest dealer in America told us they have a waiting list of 1000 for Rav 4 Hybrids and are not taking any new names. We were heartbroken because we really wanted this car but didn’t give up. We called Putnam Toyota in Burlingame and we could right away feel a difference. Rather than giving us a doomsday scenario, Hendrik at Putnam Toyota was very pleasant and friendly and said he will make this deal happen for us. Other dealers said they would get back with us and never did, but Hendrik was truly persistent and went the extra mile for us! We were shocked when he called back and said he found the vehicle we want. We thought there had to be a catch like a high mark up, but there was none. He even offered us top dollar on our trade in Bronco making the purchase possible for us. When Hendrik had the vehicle on Thursday, June 1, he promptly called us and said your vehicle is ready. We were stunned he got the vehicle that fast. We then drove 6 and a half hours from Southern California to the Bay Area and Hendrik delivered exactly what he promised us to the penny. He is a gem and a good, honest, hard working man! Thank you Hendrik for getting us this rare car in high demand at a great deal!

I live a 5 minute walk from this location, and ended up shopping at Toyota in Redwood City. I was taking a walk and decided to go in to see the prices because I already wanted to change cars. The seller was attentive at first, but in a few minutes he showed a lot of urgency to sell, trying anyway to get me to buy a used car that was totally different from the one I initially talked about. I ended up going to test the car, and when I got back, I wanted to know numbers ​​to think about, because it was a much more expensive car and totally different from what I wanted, as soon as I sat down the seller asked me for my documents, and I thought it was strange because I just wanted to get an idea of ​​values. When I realized he was already filling out all the paperwork to finalize the purchase. I thought it was absurd and when I asked why he was filling it out he asked me “Are you going to buy the car or not?” I felt disrespected. And to top it all off the car I wanted to put down as down payment was appraised AT HALF the value the other Toyota appraised, half, and he insisted that that would be the most I could pay because my car was old and used, which is not true . Anyway, I won't come back to this place.

In these uncertain times he clearly communicated over the phone, followed up whenever was needed and did excellent in consultation about the car in person. He is a very pleasant and nice person and I wish many other salesmen would follow his example. He also showed us all the functions of the car before we took the car home, including audio and other in-car systems. This dealership has great other staff as well.

We just bought our new RAV4 at Putnam Toyota. Very positive and pleasant buying experience. Seth was our sales rep and was, in a word, great! Personable, helpful and polite…. a total professional. We had stopped at another Toyota dealership before coming to Putnam and nearly decided we weren’t going to buy anything based on some seriously unpleasant and pushy salespeople. Our experience at Putnam could not have been more different. No high pressure, no games, just a straightforward, honest and friendly encounter. It was the easiest car purchase we have ever made. We had to wait a couple of months as we special ordered a hybrid but it was totally worth it. We are very pleased with our choice of car and equally pleased that we bought it from Putnam (and Seth!).
