Posting under my boyfriend but it's Valerie Quinteros I would like to first and foremost thank hope for getting me and Sonny off the street. I have a long way to go getting my life back one day at a time. No organization is perfect but it seems they are striving to improve services and client communication. It sounds like a lot of personal complaints not hope as a whole so if your a client hang in there I believe they are trying to help us we make it difficult at times for them to do so. Ty for your time

Called to see if I could go to this place for respite services. I was rudely told that this is not a homeless shelter and there are no openings. I am not homeless. I just needed a little extra support. What a joke. I'm glad I worked my stuff out on my own. That's what I get for trying to trust the mental health services of Sacramento county.

I fired my first social worker, he seemed lazy and said they didn't offer any of the things I've read they could. Then it took 5 people to get me my sleeping meds after TWO MONTHS OF INSOMNIA. There didn't seem to be any communication between staff or responsibility taken for how I was let down. I fired HOPE, too. None of these RST teams know what they're doing... they just push paperwork all day for a paycheck. I've fallen through the cracks and been given (I feel) delinquent services from El Hogar, HOPE and Visions. It took county access 8 months to call me back. And don't ever try to get help in Placer County. After moving there, I slept on their front porch for FOUR MONTHS. They passed me by every day, not offering me their services, or getting me the medical help I obviously needed. Neither did they enroll me in ANY of their programs. Even after a psych ward stay. (And if you're not in the shelter, you can't shower or laundry, like other shelters do.) However, I have been to TLCS respite CENTER twice and they were forgiving, didn't judge, and gave me tons of shelter numbers, which I called for 8 hours and all housing was closed. They couldn't believe after all my hard work to find housing, day after day, why couldn't I find anything?

Then the staff at this place they give u no. Food or a shower this is worse than jail no wonder a lot of people chose to brace the cold then go to this place this is honestly a big waste of tax payers money This was between 9:30pm to 9:45pm that's how long it took me to realize this place is a joke

I worked with Hope Cooperative for about 4.5 years, and had a great experience. I was able to move up and take a role within senior leadership and direct a program. The CEO, Erin was always available and truly took a chance on me as I had never directed a program before my time with Hope. My direct supervisor was Karen who is now retired. She was one of the best supervisors I have ever had. I felt trusted, believed in, and supported. People often will talk about pay, but agencies like Hope run programs that are county funded. Therefore, staff pay is impacted by this. Turnover is common, but people should note that turnover is common is the field of Mental Health and Social Services. The jobs are not always easy and can be heavy especially during times when our resources are limited. Hope Cooperative and its leadership always do what they can. I am very appreciative of them, and in fact, still keep in touch.

The well established TLCS respite in Rancho Cordova on MAYHE drive...is a well respected place for mental health patients ..can get crisis help.. all though, some of the employees that work at that facility give confidential information out to the streets, they are more worried about what the street rumors are than the job they are supposed to be doing...

Hope has given me...well...hope. I am being counseled by people who know what I am going through (addiction) and have even been put up in Hope's new SLE where I am now living with people in similar situations. I intend to work the program as much as I can and I hope other clients do the same. What you get out of it is directly related to what you put into it.

Is this place even still going? No one answers the phone there. A hospital who's been trying to call for coordination of a mutual client hasn't been able to get any response. Multiple messages left. Very unprofessional.

I've been a long time client and resident and wow has this company changed in the last two years. They don't care about their clients at all, all they care about is their federal ,state and county funding and looking good for the public and their public image in my opinion. They put my daughter and I through hell over the last year with our housing and have shown little remorse for the most part. They raised my rent without any kind of notice as required and just don't care. All coming from a company that supposedly cares about mental health, yet causes far more problems than they actually solve. There used to be a clear separation between the housing and mental health programs ,but that's all changed now. Now the property manager and mental health worker is one in the same and oftentimes those two roles can come into conflict. Staff I've spoken too either say that there is no conflict of interest or have tepidly agreed there is, but don't do anything about it. I and some other clients I know clearly disagree.Clients now have no one to advocate for them when their mental health challenges could potentially jeopardize their housing ,something that Hope Cooperative is supposedly all about preventing. In my opinion they care more about company expansion and public image, and have done so at the expense of their existing clients ; who quietly suffer as they lack advocates who will speak on their behalf.

Hope cooperative offers a variety of programs which may provide encouragement, support and compassion to those who may be experiencing behavioral health challenges. The staff are supportive in meeting people where they are at without judgment; Creating an environment for hope while promoting wellness and recovery.

This agency strives to treat people humanly and with dignity and respect. They believe each person is in a different place in their life journey and the client must be met where they are at. Change is complicated and can take many twists and turns.

The staff are always caring and kind even if they can’t solve all my problems they always have smiles on their faces and do a lot to help me even if it’s only 23 hours.
