very calm and relaxing place especially when you listen to the sound of rushing water coming from the Wawa Dam. i plan to come back here to experience the cottages in the middle of the 'sapa' with the giant boulders around, the boulders gives a look like a scene from a scifi movie

Nice place for a one-day trip from Manila. For those who like hiking, there are 3 mountains πŸ”οΈ ⛰️ ⛰️ to climb: Mt Pamitinan, Mt. Binicayan & Mt Hapunang Banoi. Hike to the last one is the longest. Or if one prefers something more leisurely - a walk along the river. Other activity offered is rock climbing (the rock wall is on the way to Mt Pamitinan). Another attraction is long, metal, power engine boat trip up the river. Costs / prices: - Barangay fee: 20 php per person - DENR fee (if hiking): 50 PHP per person - Guide (mandatory for hiking): 500 PHP per group (up to 5 people) - Boat πŸ›Ά tours: 75-120 php per person (500-700 php for the whole boat). There are plenty of cabanas to rent. The only downside is noise pollution. Every cabana has its own karaoke 🎀 and it is just too much. Maybe during week days it’s better.

As of this day, visitors are advised to wait for update before they can go to Wawa Dam and Karugo Falls due to the recent encounter between Philippine government peace officers and rebels.

Squatters have continously encroached into the pathway/walkway. Even single motorcycles are parked along the pathway/walkway. Portions of the path leading to the dam reeks of urine.

The place is so majestic but the house along the way and the difficulty of getting to the man made falls is very difficult.
