This bridge is the longest hanging bridge in Kerala with a length of 183 meters and 4-foot width. Kayaking, Peddle boating is available here at an extra cost. Photographs taken from the bridge gives a good aerial panoramic view of Thattekad. There are small shops for refreshments on either sides of the bridge. Even though vehicles are prohibited from entering into the bridge, there are few two wheelers passing through it which makes a turbulence which might make the first time visitors scared. There are few more activities available at this place such as shooting. For kayaking, price per head is ₹100/-. Periyar river which flows until Bhoothathankettu Dam flows under this bridge. This is a must visit place with family as well as with friends. The greenery on the way is a really great eye-catching experience one could have.

A quiet place in the outskirts of kothamangalam. The bridge is walkway for the villagers beyond the river. Definitely worth an evening visit if you are into exploring remote villages. View of the river and mountains from this bridge is worth mentioning. However there are very few shops nearby. Make sure you are not feeling hungry so soon before going to this place. As it's been few years since the bridge was opened, it looks rusted and few parts are damaged. You should be careful walking through the bridge.

It's a beautiful place where mind can be peaceful away from the busy life. Like a breeze this place is so calm and beautiful. Once the bhoothathankettu dam shutter is open you can find this view of the river. Injathoty hanging bridge across this river is another factor of attraction. Along the shores of the river there is major plant diversity which gives a beautiful view to the sides of the river. Traveling in small boats is very usual here. The people nearby uses that for transportation as well as fishing.

Good one time visit place. You can get a different experience while walking through this hanging bridge. They can easily plan more tourist activities here which will attract more people. When it is rush, better park it near main road and walk. Otherwise you will find it difficult to take your car back to main road while returning.

It was a nice place to spend time with friends or family. Main attraction here is the hanging bridge with a beautiful view of Periyar and when people walking through this bridge a slight swing makes the walk thrilling ;) Also the kayaking and boating makes this place a time killer. Main negatives here is no parking available vehicles need to be parked in the narrow road itself and lack of good restaurants or small coffee shops ..

the Inchathotty Suspension Bridge offers a picturesque view, especially during sunset. Being close to Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary, it provides a great opportunity for a family or friends outing. The suspension bridge also adds an element of excitement for kids. For photography enthusiasts, this place must be a delight, offering ample opportunities for capturing memorable moments. There is some water sports like boating and kayaking but not recommended in raining time or monsoon season . We have have to be very very careful if u are taking babies or kids with you

I had the incredible opportunity to visit the Inchathotti Suspension Bridge in Idukki, and it was truly an awe-inspiring experience. This bridge, suspended high above the lush green landscapes of Idukki, offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding natural beauty. As I walked across the bridge, I couldn't help but be captivated by the stunning scenery below, with dense forests, winding rivers, and the majestic Western Ghats in the distance. The bridge itself is a marvel of engineering, and it instills a sense of adventure and excitement as you traverse it. It's sturdy and well-maintained, which added to my confidence in exploring this remarkable area. What made the visit even more special was the serene atmosphere and the sounds of nature all around. It's a perfect spot for nature enthusiasts, photographers, or anyone seeking a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. I highly recommend a visit to the Inchathotti Suspension Bridge to anyone traveling to Idukki. It's a hidden gem that offers not only an unforgettable adventure but also a deep connection with the natural wonders of this region. Don't forget your camera; the photo opportunities here are absolutely spectacular!

This suspension bridge offered a surprise as it moved like a swing when we reached the centre of the bridge.A quaint area with small teashops and vendors selling vegetables on both ends of the bridge. The scenery of course is breathtaking.Being offseason there was no kayaking,it seems the water has to rise to a certain level to avail that facility. All in all a restive atmosphere.

Injathotti Hanging Bridge is a beautiful suspension bridge located in the Injathotti village near Kothamangalam and Bhoothathankettu. However, despite its beauty, Injathotti Hanging Bridge is under-developed by the government. There are no tourist facilities in the area. This is a shame, as the bridge has the potential to be a major tourist attraction.

Title: A Thrilling Adventure with Breathtaking Views! Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ My recent visit to the suspension bridge was an unforgettable experience that blended natural beauty, adventure, and family fun. This place is truly a hidden gem! The highlight of this location is undoubtedly the suspension bridge itself. It's an awe-inspiring structure that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding area. Walking across it can be a bit intimidating at first, but once you muster the courage, it's worth it for the incredible photo opportunities and the adrenaline rush. What makes this spot even more special is the availability of kayaking right in the same location. It's a fantastic addition to your visit, allowing you to explore the river and immerse yourself in the serene surroundings. My family had a blast paddling along the river's gentle currents. However, it's worth noting that this gem can get crowded, especially during peak hours. But even with the crowds, the beauty of the place shines through. If you're looking for a must-visit destination that combines adventure and natural beauty, this is it! In summary, the suspension bridge is a thrilling adventure that promises stunning vistas, family fun, and the chance to try kayaking. Don't miss out on this gem - it's an experience you won't soon forget!

This hanging bridge is made for the locals to cross and access to daily amenities easily like bus shops and all. Currently it is a tourist attraction place on the way to Munnar. Nice play to visit with friends and family. Almost 500m in length.

It was a new experience if you have a chance to visit Kothamangalam.. then you obviously have to visit this small place. The view was one of the best I have seen in the recent past. The Lemon juice on the other side of the bridge along the bay of the river makes the vibe perfect.

It's a beautiful location. Evening and early mornings are the best times to visit. The bridge does shake a bit from side to side as you walk across it it's fun still. There were a few canoes down below taking people for rides. Swimming isn't prohibited, just posters warning non swimmers to be cautious have been put up.

So many peoples using this thoookupalam to cross the river. Hayaking & other activities available at weekends. We had some cooldrinks like Special soda mix Juice. (Jaathikaai, nellikaai, Kaanthari, Ginger, Lemon & Karuvepilai) from nearest Shop. Its too good. Worth for Seeing bridge for feel good vibe.

Always you can experience a cool breeze which relaxes your mind and also stunning beautiful views of mountain will make you feel like you are in heaven. Kayaking is a must try activity there. This place is near to Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary. While planning to visit thattekkad or bhoothathankettu dam you can include Inchathotty also. You will not regret for sure.

Beautiful hanging bridge, supposed to be the longest in the state of Kerala. Built over the Periyar River. Only pedestrians (max 40 at a time) are allowed. The bridge shakes and moves a little as people walk over it; pretty interesting. The views from and around the bridge is fantastic! Relatively less frequented by tourists, since the place is not on the main road to Munnar. Paddle Boats and Kayaks are available on site and are recommended.

It is a great place to spend evenings with family. I come often. Walking across the Periyar river on the suspension bridge is a special experience. It is specifically written there that no more than 40 people should watch it at a time. Be careful while walking on the bridge. Try to walk without shaking too much. Now there is no boating service here. You can only go from one side of the bridge to the other and come back. Local residents were heard saying that the bridge has started to lose some strength. However, it is a good place to enjoy the river and its beauty for an hour.

Its a beautiful place, a tourist attraction . Above the periyar river . The suspension bridge can be used only for working , but i saw the local residents travelling in their two wheelers. There is no wheel chair access to the bridge . Its a great spot for taking photos. There is no entrace fee for this.

Average. Premises need to be cleanly maintained, bridge can be painted more facilities can be provided. Overall quality needs to be improved. Government and the local bodies need to take the initiative.

Such a stunning place, and a must-visit attraction. There's no entry free, and there's ample parking space near this marvellous bridge. It amuses every visitor since it is a suspension bridge, which swings while passing on it. Incredible Kerala!

Inchathotty hanging bridge is the longest hanging bridge (thookku palam in Malayalam) in Kerala. The place is of panoramic view with natural beauty. People can walk from one end of the bridge to the other side. There is fecility of peddal boating and kayaking. In the summer visit the place in the evening or morning.

Suspension bridge across Periyar. Easily accessible from Kothamangalam. There is also kayaking activity and pedal boating available here. Kayaking costs Rs 100 for a person for 1 hr. I did kayaking and it was a really thrilling experience.

(December 2021) - Actually this is not a tourist spot. It is actually a bridge to move between either sides of Periyar river. Earlier there was kayaking and similar water sports. But when I visited, everything was ceased to operate. Also the local people find it difficult to cross the bridge manoeuvring the huge crowd visiting the bridge on weekends. So the visitors please give priority for them while you stand on the bridge. If you really want to enjoy the beauty of the nature, visit there during early morning or sunset.

longest suspension bridge in Kerala It is famous for its hanging bridge (suspension bridge) which is considered as the longest suspension bridge in Kerala, with a length of about 183 m and width of about 1.2 m (4 feet) This village is located at a distance of about 10 km from Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary and 60 km from the world-famous Munnar hill station. The famous Bhoothathankettu dam and park can also be conveniently accessed at about 11 km distance.

Good place to visit with Family for a short visit in the evening. Activities are limited to Pedal boating, Kayaking and walk over the Hanging bridge. It does say maximum capacity as 40 persons, but in reality saw double that number of people on the bridge. The scenery is beautiful. If clubbed with trip to thattekkad or bhootathakett , it would be good for a half day visit.
