Our host, Elena, was so gracious and accommodating. We arrived by train  on a wet afternoon, and Elena picked us up from the station. Breakfast was substantial with lots of choice - panini, toast, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit - and as we were beginning our Via Francigena walk, she provided provisions for us to make our lunch. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable with a beautiful view of the Tuscan countryside. Little extras such as chocolates and a decanter of water make the room welcoming and cosy. We had access to a fully equipped kitchen. This accommodation absolutely exceeded our expectations.

Genuinely lovely host, great breakfast (especially the coffee), lovely warm room, comfortable bed, quiet (so a great night's sleep is assured) and hot shower. A really nice touch is providing a packed lunch for pilgrim walkers (knowing that food options extremely limited on the 24km leg after this village). All in all, perfection.

We chose this place as we were attending the annual Truffle Exhibition in November. Cute place run by a very nice owner, only a couple of rooms. The room and bathroom are big and spacious. The place felt clean, which was very important to us. Warning though, the room we chose did not have an en suite bathroom, you have to walk out of your room to access the private bathroom next to it and you have to bring a key with you to lock it from the inside. Not really convenient as you're likely to bump into the guests staying in the other room across from you. Also, the bathroom echoes like crazy so late at night when you're getting ready for bed or getting up in the middle of the night to use it, you can clearly hear everything from your room and the hallway. I felt bad about possibly disturbing the guests in the other room. I hope we didn't make too much noise, the walls are quite thin. Other than that, the breakfast is very generous and the owner gave us a ton of variety to eat and drink. She even drove us to and from the train station. San Miniato is a tiny town and almost no taxies that we could see so we were very grateful she willingly offered us a ride both times.

B Casa Dalma This is a great place to spend a night or two in San Miniato. Elena is a wonderful, welcoming host who goes out of her way to make you feel at home. She was responsive with communication before our arrival, and went the extra mile to augment an already fabulous breakfast with some extra proteins for our hike on the Via Francigena. The room itself was cozy, with a comfortable bed and a fabulous view of tge Tuscan countryside. The private washroom (just across the hall) had an excellent shower (with lots of pressure and hot water) and a sink large enough to do hand laundry. We were able to dry our laundry on the drying rack on the small balcony outside our room - a real bonus. The breakfast is worthy of special mention. Elena lays out a generous breakfast table, with yogurts, cold cereals, the standard sweet offerings, and fresh fruit. There’s plenty of milk and juice, and endless coffee available from the self-serve pod machine. Coffee and hot chocolate is available in the common room from the moment you arrive - a real treat. This is a lovely, well run property that provides excellent value for money. Highly recommended.
