Lovely restaurant! We ordered a pasta dish, risotto, sausages, tiramisu, and panna cotta. As soon as we sat down and ordered, the staff brought us 2 complimentary proseccos, which was nice. At the end of the meal, they gave us 2 shots of limoncello. Bread was also served at the start after ordering. Pasta: nice. simple and not complicated. Porccini risotto: a little watery and quite al dente, but the sauce was AMAZING! sausages: surprisingly really nice. you could tell the meat was nice. Panna cotta: I wasn't a big fan of the rosemary taste, and the chocolate sauce was a bit too heavy for the panna cota as it covered up the natural taste, but the panna cota itself was nice. We saw a few people around us ordering the florentine steak - surprisingly looked like a good portion size (as in, it didn't look too much for 2 people but definitely still a lot). They served the steak on top of a cooker thing so you can still cook the steak to your liking when it arrives on your table. The only thing to take note of is that it gets very smokey. I was on the next table, and at the end of the meal, i could smell the smoke all over me. Staff were quite friendly and if there's anything you didnt understand on the menu, they'll gladly explain it to you.

Our waiter Aldo was absolutely fantastic! He was very helpful and friendly the whole night. I would highly recommend the Florentine steak! 10/10 for Aldo!

Have been to La Gratella a couple of times since I moved to Firenze last year and I think it is by far the best place for Bistecca Fiorentina. Returned last night with my partner to celebrate her birthday and our anniversary, and everything was lovely. Highly recommend the crostini with fegato, the onion soup, the La Nobile steak, Tiramisu, and some of the house wine for a delicious and substantial meal for two. Francesco who was our server for the evening was charming, entertaining, and gave us wonderful recommendations. Grazie mille, and see you again soon!

We would not recommend this restaurant for a few reasons. The food wasn’t good for its price, and the service was far from considerate. The risotto was one note and the ham was very dull and mediocre. What we experienced didn’t match the price at all, it seemed like rice mixed with sauce with uncooked ham and heated. It left us no memories. The lemon ravioli was a nice fresh dish, and generally proper. But as the best meal of the course, it demonstrates the unremarkable nature of the dinner as a whole. The first few bites are much more impressive than the rest, as the taste is imaginable, plainly lemon mixed with truffle cream. For the main course, we got ourselves a filet mignon. Just on first glance, the filet lacked a proper sear, and was not in the small circular shape that I’ve grown accustomed to. The steak itself was still tasty, if cut in thin layers, the meat was tender. It was hard to cut the steak, as the fork was round, not flat, therefore it was hard to hold. We could tell the meat was good in quality, but in Florence, you should expect more. We also got eggplant as the side dish for our steak and It was too sour and cold, although the eggplant had grill marks on it. We couldn’t finish it as it wasn’t enjoyable at all. We are not sure if the eggplant is supposed to be cold, but it was definitely too sour as a side dish. At the end, we had a traditional cake as dessert. It didn’t taste delicate, but instead just a random ice cream sponge cake. I don’t think it was made with anything of good quality. As for the service, our waiter did not have the proficiency we’d expected. Firstly, he was slow to notice any of our needs. We had to wait and wave for him to get our finished plates and for checks, although there were less than three tables then. Also, he’s very passionate, which is supposed to be good, but as he talks so loud, and he continued chatting with the customers as he walked away, we were in the middle of their chat and it was hard even for us to understand the person sitting across. In general he seemed frivolous, and didn’t take his job seriously. He also asked every customer to leave a Google review after dining, which is the reason I assume the rating of this restaurant is so high. To make things worse, someone ordered a dish with a smoking plate, and the front part of the restaurant where we were, was full of smoke for a while.

We had the Cured Meats/Liver/Cheese appetizer, Giant Salad, and most importantly the steak fillet. The appetizer was very good and hearty, salad was just fine, but wow the steak fillet was just spectacular. At 20 euros, I considered it highway robbery…what a deal. Right up there as one of the best steaks I’ve ever had; cooked rare, the meat was so tender and just the right amount of marbled and bloody. Damn great. We walked in but might want to make a reservation since most who walked in after us around 9pm were having to wait or turned away.

Simply outstanding! La Gratella was recommended for our group of 6 by our hotel staff and truly lived up to the expectations. It’s a cozy restaurant with a simple menu, and the food was incredible. The staff went the extra mile to be welcoming, attentive and made us feel at home. Loved the steak served on a grill at the table, risotto, lemon ravioli, pear fondue ravioli and those roasted potatoes! I would go here again when in Florence next.

Great food, amazing Fiorentina steak and the stuff was very friendly! The price for everything was a little expensive in my opinion, compared also to other restaurants, but the whole experience was worth it. Recommended!

First meal in Florence so I had to try Tuscan cuisine! The lemon ravioli with truffle cream and flakes of parmesan cheese was the highlight of this meal - full of rich truffle flavour and super creamy The mugello pasta with meat sauce and mushrooms was okay, nothing special The grilled eggplants were also okay - I love eggplant but I probably wouldn’t order it again

Absolutely the best pasta dish I've ever had. The atmosphere is spot on for a small Itailan eatery. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The food was unbelievable. It was hot, it was flavorful, it was the best pasta dish I've ever had. The Fagottini de Pecorino was so well put together with flavor it was insane. Do not hesitate to find this hidden gem when you are in Florence.

I was so excited to try La Gratella after reading all of the reviews and it did not disappoint! The Florentine Steak was absolutely delicious, I’ve never had anything like that before. The attention and service was one of a kind. Very knowledgeable staff and so helpful when asked questions about the menu. Antonio, the owner, is so attentive and gracious. I’ll definitely be coming back before leaving Florence. This is a must try!

The staff were extremely friendly! I had a mix up with my reservation, but the staff kindly gave us a table anyway, and treated us extremely well. The food was good! We got a La Nobile, and it was so thick, but cooked to medium rare perfectly. We also got the wild boar pasta, and the texture of the pasta was so good! When we were done and heading out, all the staff thanked us and greeted us for coming to their restaurant! My wife even overheard the chef thanking us. Only thing is that the back of the restaurant was a little warmer, but overall, great experience!

After doing a thorough research on restaurants, because we wanted to avoid tourist traps and overrated places, I've come across La Gratella on Google Maps and it had really good reviews. So we gave it a go and booked a place here through Google - that was a smart thing to do, because when we arrived there were people waiting to be seated without reservations. We got a cozy little table next to the bar, which initially I though was going to be a bit uncomfortable but it wasn't at all. Now onto the real review: - Our serves were absolutely amazing, attentive, kind, funny and veeeery friendly. They really give you the feeling that you've been here before and you know them. We've got a complimentary prosecco and digestivo, and also a discount on the total amount to be paid! Just make sure to still bring some cash if you're paying with card, because tips are cash only. - The food was GREAT!! We ordered the crostini trio as appetizers, and they were just ok, could have skipped them to save more space for the steak. Now about he meat, we booked the restaurant because we wanted the Fiorentina steak, but we were told that's about 3kg of meat (ideally for 3+ people) and they suggested us the T-bone steak which is a lighter meat and also a smaller portion (around 1.5kg). It was still huge, but it was PERFECT! There was only 2 of us and halfway through the meal we had to admit we're kinda full, yet somehow we managed to eat it all and still were able to breath :) We also made the smart choice not to get potatoes on the side, but the spinach and the baked onions, which were incredible companions to the meat and really balanced out the strong (but delicious) beefy flavour. To finish it off, we've got the tiramisu based on our server's recommendation and it was also just sooooo good. You could see the ladies bringing around a big Tupperware of tiramisu and putting generous portions on the plates - that's always a sign for great tiramisu :) - The place was very cozy, authentic, there were also s lot of Italians and the restaurant is situated in a calm street so overall it was a very pleasant experience, "head to toe". TLDR: come here if you want great steak (probably the best in my life and I reeeeally dig steaks), great service and experience the great atmosphere of true Tuscan gastronomy.

Great Tuscan Food, very nice personnel. You also can go there with Kids. We had several different dishes, from pasta to soup and the classical beef. Delicious and the price worth it.

Stumbled in after reading about the trattoria here on Google. Greeted by a very friendly waiter, and seated immediatly. We had no reservation. Was asked if we wanted a complimentary prosecco, which were good. The food was outstanding. We had the wild boar ragu and a steak. Excellent quality. The waiters were very attentive and helpful. I wish I could finish my tiramisu, but alas, there is a limit for every person...( Share if you can, it is so worth it! ) We have one more night in Florence...and I think we might have to go back...

We just had a great dinner at the restaurant. They had plenty of Gluten free and Dairy free options. The food tasted amazing! We would definitely come back.

Great Trattoria with good cookings. Slightly away from the touristy spot that make it less crowded which is perfect! Excellent service from the staffs and was easily made comfortable even dining in solo. Charming server who will give you some good recommendations. The owner was excellent as well, I was surprised that I was given some deduction on my final bills. ;)

Very friendly greeting at the door. We had to wait a few minutes for table since we had no reservation. The food was really good. We had a couple of pasta dishes as well as the 1.5 kg T-Bone steak. What an experience! Highly recommend this restaurant.
