Not a very large museum, but it certainly knows how to set up beautiful exhibitions. This year I saw Andy Warhol's and I really appreciated the arrangement of the works, the placement of the objects (I'm talking about the guitars, for example) and the idea of modifying the bathroom to bring it closer to the Factory, which I found truly original. .

The Palp was born in 2016 in the spaces of the Palazzo Pretorio in Pontedera. The original nucleus of the building dates back to the mid-14th century, but its current appearance is the result of a rich and complex historical stratification. Located in the historic heart of the city, it became the seat of the Podesteria in 1400 and a Vicariate at the end of the 18th century. In 1848 the building housed the premises of the magistrate's court and until 2013 it was the seat of the detached section of the Court of Pisa. The recent restoration and adaptation works have made Palazzo Pretorio an exhibition center of excellence. On the ground floor, partly composed of a closed loggia with windows, the Palp hosts a cafeteria and restaurant service. The first floor is on two levels and is used as an exhibition space for temporary exhibitions, while the rooms of the former prisons, located on the third floor, can be visited and can host artistic events. The events organized at the Palp premises are promoted by the Pontedera Culture Foundation, established in 2016 by the municipality of Pontedera and Peccioli. The Foundation promotes the diffusion of culture through the promotion of cultural proposals, with particular attention to the protection and valorisation of assets of historical and artistic interest. Furthermore, among the aims of the Foundation there is the creation of projects, training and editorial activities, seminars, courses, conferences, study meetings and awareness-raising initiatives to encourage the diffusion of action culture, the professional training of sector operators and a deeper knowledge of experimentation and research activities in the areas of interest. The Pontedera Culture Foundation was born with the support of the city, its industrial, commercial and financial fabric. It is thanks to the contribution of companies, banks and individual citizens that it has been possible to organize our exhibitions and achieve the set objectives.

Palazzo Pretorio "PALP" in Pontedera, Andy Warhol Icons exhibition, not to be missed. Warhol's artistic works finally live. Very famous and truly iconic. Beautiful, colourful. Lots of photos and more. Not to be missed, even for all those who are not lovers of various art forms.

If I didn't go I would lose something... a world opened up. Interesting exhibition. Works representing famous people are on display using recycled products such as pieces of PC, envelopes, laces, metals, leather, shoes etc... recycled and reused products for create these works of art. They faithfully reproduce the characters with their expressions and film scenes. Don't miss the video that explains the Scart project. Very interesting and it's also free. Small but well organized museum in the center of Pontedera. I also saw that of Andy Warhol. The bar is also available as you enter or exit. Parking to look for nearby.

Up on 2nd floor so quite a walk if you find stone staircases a challenge! There was a charge for the exhibit with a euro or two reduction for seniors and students. The show on Chini was well presented, beautiful work from art nouveau period. Small bookshop with catalogues.

Beautiful building in the center of Pontedera which hosts an Andy Warhol exhibition. Numerous works on display from various moments in the artist's life including some of the most famous such as portraits and soups, but not only. All very concentrated. Average price for an exhibition of international appeal. Little gem: the bathroom in the building also looked like a work by Warhol!

I went to Palp to see the exhibition "Scart - the beautiful side of waste". I think everything possible has already been said about Palp: beautiful building, well maintained, equally well organized for exhibitions: a little gem! But let's talk about this exhibition in particular. It is amazing to see what can be done/created with scraps and waste from industrial processes. It all starts with a manager of an environmental services company who builds a desk out of waste plexiglass. Hence the idea of valorising waste from industrial processes to create true works of art with the collaboration of the Academies of Fine Arts of Florence, Bologna, Ravenna and Rimini. Part of the works were presented in Venice on September 23 at Ecomondo, as part of the film festival. The exhibition is on until 25 February 24: get a move on otherwise you'll miss it.

(Translated by Google) Pleasant art exhibition dedicated to Pop Art with Andy Warhol. In addition to the known and public works there are unpublished sketches by the painter on advertising and fashion. The bathroom set-up according to an artist's project was nice.
