They make their food to order using the freshest ingredients prepared the same day you enjoy them. Even their queso, guac and salsa are made from scratch every day. That’s just how they roll.

First visit last night based upon a friend's recommendations. Still very busy at 7:00 p.m. on a Friday night. We chose to set at the bar hoping for quicker service. It didn't happen but that was okay because we were socializing. The bartender was running around and did not stop the entire time. Margaritas were excellent but pricey at $12.99. I had Tacos Al Pastor and they were okay. My friend had Baja Fish tacos and she said they were good. Please be patient with your servers wherever you go because everyone is understaffed. Overall was a good experience just have to have patience.

Hands down the best Mexican food in the East suburbs. Went there for the first time today and it instantly became my favorite restaurant. The Mexican fried rice is sneakily the best thing on the menu because you don’t expect it to be as amazing as it is. It’s cheesy by default but you can add on toppings like chicken or shrimp and it goes over the top. I also had the Birria Tacos. Wow. Unreal. I wanted to get the churros but I almost had to roll out of there. Maybe I’ll go get the churros tomorrow. Oh and the staff is great. Wry friendly and courteous. Very quick too!

Update 2/4: I’ve since reached out and heard nothing back. Let me preface this by I will never eat here again and it has nothing to do with the food. I had a negative experience with the “owner/operator” this afternoon that has left me to leave this negative review. I love the food here my absolute go to meal take out or dine in are the Texas Fajitas with a side of cheese dip. They never fail so shout out to the kitchen! The establishment is very clean and beautiful it’s perfect for date nights. I also frequent the Washington PA location and for here on out will be taking my business there. If I order pick up it’s through door dash because it allows me in the special instructions to indicate no beans. I have a G6PD deficiency which leaves me to have an allergy to legumes long story short no beans. Never have an issue and in exchange ask for extra shredded cheese. Even if I’m charged it’s never been an issue. When I go to pick up today I realize the side order of cheese is there but the shredded cheese isn’t. I’m told today it doesn’t come with the meal at all the owner operator read the menu in front of me. I repeated I frequent here and it always does and did just end up paying in store for the shredded cheese but upon pulling up the picture from door dash seen that the fajitas had cheese. The greeter at the front said he had no idea what the cheese in the picture was and again grabbed the owner operator. The owner/operator said it is cheese but it doesn’t come with the order then corrected that and said the cheese only comes with the beans. Fine fair whatever the owner/operator was curt, repeatedly told me he couldn’t give me something for free, and repeatedly let me know my issue wouldn’t go any further seeing as that is his establishment. If I never had cheese with my order I would’ve never ever asked for extra. The entire exchange was unprofessional demeaning and the owner/operator did nothing to diffuse that. I’d even go further to say this to any customer if cheese didn’t come with the order or isn’t supposed to I would’ve as a courtesy to a returning customer offered it and let them know they’d have to pay in the future. Because of all this I didn’t even get to tell them the tortillas that I absolutely know come with my order weren’t there either. Before leaving I asked for a refund for the entire order I wanted to leave everything there. There is nothing worse than happily paying for an order as a treat to yourself and having someone imply that you’re trying to get something for free. I was told I would have to go through door dash. Door dash refunded me for the side order of cheese not really understanding the issue I had at the establishment or why management wasn’t willing to help. Below is what I received today. I’m hoping that someone can rectify this issue.

So glad decided to stop by for lunch. Food was delicious, as always, and the staff very friendly. Love the atmosphere, and we’ve never been let down on anything we have ordered. We’ll definitely keep coming back.

Solid spot for some Mexican food. I got the birria tacos, they were good. Everyone I was with seemed to enjoy their food. Bathroom was clean. Staff was attentive. I'd go back.

We randomly stumbled on this place when looking for Mexican around the south hills and glad we did! Super cool looking inside, had a Las vegas vibe, staff was super nice and accommodating, seating very fast on Sunday around dinner time Our Server Yuliet was great! Quick with serving us and very prompt with everything we needed The drinks were awesome! Very refreshing, and really great I ordered the chicken and spinach, was amazing and exactly as described My husband got the one that comes innthr volcanic rock, serving size was HUGE, we could've split his dinner alone And it was also amazing and tasted great Pricing great too, the portion sizes were big for us, Have left overs for later tonight! We will definitely be returning again, can't wait to try other specialty drinks and other things on the menu!

This is some of the best Mexican food you can get in this area! I will say that if this restaurant was in Texas (where I currently reside and am just here for work), the food would be rated 3.5-4. Again, definitely the best Mexican food in this area. Not many restaurants like this, especially in the McKeesport and neighboring areas. The Lunch Burrito de Carnitas was excellent. Great value for money. Service was great although I did go when there might have been 10 people total in the restaurant so it should be easy to provide great service! I definitely understand why this is a favorite spot of so many in the area. Look at that burrito! 🔥🤤

I went here for my birthday. The ribeye tacos were delicious! I enjoyed the cute Bathtime drink so much that I had two. The Mexican corn was good. Only thing that bothered me were that the restaurant had a few flies. Other than that I will come again. Thank you for making my 43rd birthday special.

Plaza Azteca food was good; however, service was all over the place. No one knew what we were drinking or what we had ordered as we had quite a few people waiting on our table. There were a few flukes, and no one attempted to resolve the issues and still charged us full price. I went to my first Plaza Azteca in the Seattle/Ballard area many years ago and loved it! So, when our family made the decision to go to this Plaza Azteca, we jumped at going! I was looking forward to it but nothing like the one in the Seattle area. We decided not to return to this location as the experience was too chaotic and left much to be desired. Update: The owner did reach out to this post to reply, and I am very appreciative of this. This means a lot when an Owner reaches out to you and so I will give this Plaza Azteca location another chance.

First time here and not sure if I will return. Very nice atmosphere. Chips and salsa were delicious! Some of the food descriptions on the menu were incorrect according to my server, which is frustrating. The burrito I ordered said it came with queso on it and garnished in pico, it had neither as you can see in the photos. The food was 50/50. I got the burrito de carnitas and it was phenomenal. But $16 for an average size burrito with no rice or beans is pretty expensive. Husband got the $32 volcano bowl thing that was underwhelming to say the least. The rib eye steak in it was maybe 1/4" thick and it was small. The overall look of the volcano bowl was not appetizing. My sons kids meal of a soft taco and burrito came out with sauce all over the burrito and the taco was grease logged. The menu did not say there was any sauce on the burrito. My other son got the Texas Fajitas for 1, and there wasnt much food for $20+ and i think it only came with 3 tortillas? It may have been 4, but I think 3. Very heavily filled with poppers and onions. Shortly before we left, the food runner for the table next to me walked away from their table licking his fingers all the way through the bar area. Like right out in the open. I informed my server, not sure he quite understood what I was telling him. He sent his manager over and I informed the manager also. He said sorry and headed towards the kitchen. Hopefully it was to have a talk with the runner about proper food handling, but it really makes me question their overall cleanliness.

Beautiful restaurant with amazingly cool chandeliers (one of them looked like a blue pineapple made of skulls-So cool!). Margaritas were delicious, and of course, the food was divine. My enchiladas de jefe were. In fact, the boss! Great place to gather with friends for drinks and a tasty meal.

We had 2 great & 1 bad experience. Devided to try it again and they redeemed themselves!!! Great meals, had mini maragita as well. Great service from Marco. Will put it back on our favorite list.

The food here is great, but the prices are unreasonable and the portion sizes are so small. If you want to charge $16 for an appetizer, that’s fine, but make sure it can feed more than one toddler.

I remember coming here for the first time. Food was sensational, I always got the meal I ordered. The servers were great, basically were regulars and turned my friends and family onto the joint because we loved it so much. I don't know what happened in the last few months, but it has slowly went down hill. The food is not as good as it used to be. Smaller portions, higher price, watered down Margaritas. Every time I order something it seems to come out wrong now or the staff doesn't take my order correctly. The only reason I am leaving this review is that my wife, myself and my friend all got sick from the chicken a few days ago. We all ended up sick and had to end our night early because of it. I never thought my favorite place in the area would turn out so bad after changing so many things that made it great. The business used to be full every night and now a Friday night has it half filled. So disappointing.

Pretty good Mexican food we had the molcajete which had shrimp chicken ribeye vegetables sauce and cheese. It had a lot of food but the flavor was not all there. We've had it other places and ranks up there with the amount of food you get for your money but maybe a little more flavor. It really needed to have some sour cream lettuce tomatoes on the side and didn't although it did have the typical dry rice and beans We also had Pollo Sonora tacos that were pretty good. The chips and salsa weren't bad but I think the chips were a little too thick but the queso was pretty good. All in all we'd probably come back to try something different
