Excellent, local local local restaurant and bar serving the area for over 70 years. Wide range of menu items including all of the normal staples of french fries, onion rings, etc. An American local classic with full and complete bar and table service. The ONE pound Reuben or fish sandwich is a must have served on locally baked Mancini's Italian bread... Excellent service and very hospitable from the time you walk in and take your own seat when they're not crowded. Be sure to ask for Tera who provided excellent service and representation of the complete menu and history of Emils. I will be back and hope that I see you there. #SUPPORTLOCAL #BUYLOCAL #RANKIN

I never thought I would have a reason to get to Rankin, Pennsylvania. Today I found one. I had lunch at Emil's and discovered the best fried cod sandwich I have ever had!!! If you need a reason to get to Rankin, a suburb of Braddock, PA this it it.

Good food at an economically reasonable price, unless you buy the most expensive dinner item. Puzzle road network to find the place. If you grew up in Rankin or Swissvale you knew about this place. Most people from Braddock heard of this place to eat, but rarely ventured there back in the "vintage era". Check it out, you might like it.

5 stars for food - 1 star for service. If you’re not a regular you’re clearly going to sit around waiting for someone to acknowledge you for 10 minutes. And then another 5 minutes to have someone bring you a menu. And then another 5 minutes for a drink refill...etc. I went at lunch and there were 7 other people in the restaurant and the 2 servers were talking to other patrons the entire time and the servers didn’t even take their eyes off their current conversation as they set down menus I had to wait 5 minutes for and ask for. The Reuben, was as promised by the recommendations, was excellent.

Friendly neighborhood place that definitely needs a makeover, but happens to have the best Reuben in town. It's so massive, only order a half if you want fries or anything else, you won't come near finishing it. But oh so good!

Went here tonight the food was very bland. My grandmother (84), got the liver and onions my partner and I got the stuffed cabbage. The food was edible but my gram even thought it could use some seasoning. The stuffed cabbage was drowned in a basic canned tomato sauce with nothing added. The liver was semi tough but my gram did enjoy it as no one ever has liver and onions nowadays. What seemed to be the owner was so freaking friendly and lovely if I go back she is the reason. Her personality lit up the room and that made everything worth it. Also the server and bartender were great. Oh and the prices were good.

Stopped in for a quick bite during walk around town. So pleased I did! Truly delicious BLT and flavorful potato leek soup. Add in a super friendly staff and you have a winner of a restaurant! Will definitely be back for the Chicken Parm! Stop in for a bite. Like me, you’ll be glad you did.

My friend and I visited on a Saturday afternoon and shared the fish sandwich. It was delicious and more than enough for two.

Good food, a bit pricey like everything these days. Make sure you check your take out stuff to see if it's all there, they tend to forget the sides.

Everything was wonderful. I had the Jr. Fish and my friend had a hamburger. Both were very good quality and big. The atmosphere was very welcoming and cozy. Bartender was really friendly and nice. I'll definitely go back.

It might be worthwhile to call first. We flew in from Dallas to spend a few days in Pittsburgh. Drove out to Emils Saturday for lunch only to discover they were locking up for a catering job. So if you are from out of town and not a regular call first.

Not what its cracked up to be ,even if they were on foodnetwork with andrew zimmern soon as you walk in you smell the old bar odor stall cigarette odor neither are very pleasent then you see seating area with its plastic vines and plastic flowers all over the place typical neighborhood trashy bar trying yo hold on in desperation to something that doesnt exist anymore.yes they were on foodnetwork he really didnt have a lot to say about the food called it average i would have to agree ,the fish sandwich was bland no seasonings served on a whole loaf of italian bread ..over kill on the bread... The cabbage rolls were ok wouldnt brag about them to much ,i stopped at this point got the bill and paid over 50 dollars (without liquor coffee and tea )for food ill never go back to.

Cozy spot with great food, nice folks, and a relaxed attitude. It's a lounge - don't expect to be in and out in 20 minutes. Come here with plans to enjoy your time and fulfilling meal. Try the Reuben sandwich!!! There's also free parking across the road designated for guests.

Hamburger wasn't impressive at all... was way too thick and dry. The Reubens, however, were amazing.

Another wonderful experience at Emil's. The atmosphere is very nice; staff is terrific; food is delicious; prices are right. Since it's Lent and quite busy, the wait is a little long....but the meal is well worth it.
