This review is specifically for Dr Beverly Smithā€¦ every other person Iā€™ve dealt with at Metro has been wonderful. I was assigned Dr Smith for a checkup bc my regular doctor was on leave. Iā€™ve never been treated so poorly in my life. She didnā€™t bother to look at patient notes from my previous visits and then questioned every diagnoses that my doctor had made long ago all the while belittling and disrespecting me. And then she decided to no longer prescribe a medication Iā€™d been prescribed for 10+ years bc she ā€œdidnā€™t like my attitudeā€. Iā€™ve filed a formal complaint but wanted to get the word out to others. Not only will I never see her again, Iā€™m leaving the entire practice behind. If you have a chance to be seen by ā€œDrā€ Beverly Smith, donā€™t take it.

I really wanted to like this clinic. They have done some good things for me--finally believed me about my diagnosis and paid for some of the cost of my expensive prescription so I could afford it. Unfortunately, the pros do not outweigh the cons. I see physicians here for both medical and psychiatric issues, and heaven forbid I ever have an urgent medical issue, because these people do NOT follow back up with you. To get a single issue resolved, I need to call regularly 8 times because nobody ever gets back to me. This has happened for both physical and mental health needs. My old psychiatrist who worked there also did not monitor my medications properly. If you want a responsive and responsible clinical team, don't go to Metro. You will not get it. I'll be transferring my information to another doctor's office as soon as I am able.

Horrible experience. Dr Beverly Smith doubted my already diagnosed and successfully medicated PTSD and ADHD diagnosis. After telling her the severe adverse effects I experienced in the past on certain types of medications she somehow came to the conclusion I needed to cease my current medications that I had been on for months and had helped turn my life around and instead to be prescribed the same type of medication I had a history of adverse effects to. Refused to continue prescribing the adderall leaving me out of meds. Thank you for choosing to add to my trauma šŸ‘Œ

Honestly when I saw Dr Rechter she was so nice and a wonderful woman, however she sadly passed away and I was put with Dr Beverly Smith. Probably the worst doctor I have ever been to. She constantly has an attitude, talks to me like Iā€™m stupid, and then pretty much tells me itā€™s my fault that she canā€™t remember to not fill a script for me because I get it filled by another doctor but she still filled it and now gets refill requests from the pharmacy. Sorry not my fault Iā€™ve told them multiple times not to fill it. She said I wasnā€™t trying to understand what she was saying because she said that it could create a problem and I said for who? The pharmacy? Because Iā€™m competent enough to not get my meds filled twice and the pharmacy wonā€™t fill it twice. She does not listen at all and I completely understood her reason but the way she spoke to me and put me down was not okay. I canā€™t speak for the other doctors but donā€™t go to her! I wonā€™t be back to this place again and am going to be filing a formal complaint and it looks like Iā€™m not the only one.

I really like Dr. Smith. I've been in treatment for most of my life and I've had a lot doctors that didn't listen to me, switched me on different meds that I wasn't comfortable with, talk over me, and so on. Dr. Smith listened to me, informed me about some things I didn't know about, and was helpful. I will continue treatment. Becky Altman is an excellent nurse for HRT and is trans competent. Dr. Goldberg is an excellent dentist. I felt it was important to balance out some of the negative reviews. Metro is a nonprofit clinic and they do good work.

The building is ALWAYS dirty and nasty. The doctor's office is lazy and doesn't care about or help their patients. Worst of all is the bedbug problem in there stay clear of them!

I use this place for EVERYTHING. I see them as my PCP, my psychiatrist, and my dentist. They are one of the few places that take my insurance (UPMC For you, medicaid) and I couldnā€™t be more happy with the care I receive. Their providers are kind and so is the rest of the staff, theyā€™re easy to get in contact with and their patient portal makes things even easier so you can message your providers questions. I always recommend this place to my friends because itā€™s an amazing place where the doctor, nurses, etc. truly care for the work they do. Also, in COVID-19 theyā€™re still flexible and taking good precautions with in person appointments. They offer high quality care in such an accessible form.

Had a recent interview with Metro. Found them to highly unorganized. Showed up for the interview. Interviewer wasnt even there. . So i was shuffled off to a side room and given a 10 minute token interview . Nice. Professinalism out the window. If you have an intetview with them. Please move on. Dont waste your time with this company

This place is so clean and friendly. I recently visited the dental office with my mom. We were greeted by friendly staff and made the experience easy. The office was clean and spotless. The dentist was very attentive and listened to all our problems. The whole staff was friendly and caring. We were able to be seen within a couple days of the emergency call and were very greatly after calling 20 different places. This place takes majority of health insurance and we were glad they took ours. They are pretty booked so I would be patient because this place is worth it. They even have great security and lots of parking spaces.

I was being seen by a therapist who helped me immensely through some rather difficult parts of my life. A person whom I really connected with. Abruptly and without noticed I (we) lost her. I wasnā€™t contacted in person rather a brief letter was sent in the mail. I was not given any option as to who my new doctor would be or allowed any input in the decision. The person who took over my care immediately took me off of one of the medications I had been on for years without any taper so I crashed. I was written up at my job for overlooking a duty that had a direct correlation to loosing my medication. In my second appointment with this other doctor I was forced off of my other medication. I wasnā€™t offered a good explanation as to why other than they couldnā€™t prescribe them to me. Basically those medications didnā€™t line up with what that doctor wanted or how they wanted to treat people. Then I lost my job. I expressed my frustration with who ever would listen but nothing was done. Then that doctor dictated me so I lost access to the clinic. They wouldnā€™t appoint me another therapist or psychiatrist but they gave me a list of 15 that I came to find out wouldnā€™t accept my insurance. They left me out to dry and did it knowingly. Terrible people doing awful things.

This review is specifically for Kelly Oā€™Leary, a nurse who saw me today for an emergency appt for a severe sore throat. She jammed her little swab so deep and hard into my throat that it made me tear up and cry out in pain, after which her only comment was that itā€™s ā€œstandard procedure.ā€ She continued by jamming two swabs super hard and deep up my very raw stuffy nose to test for Covid, which again made me recoil and my heart rate to skyrocket. She had zero remorse for having zero compassion or bedside manner and I heard her complaining to other staff about me shortly after leaving the room. Make sure to request someone other than her to do your intake because apparently nobody ever taught her that itā€™s important to be gentle with sick people.

Everyone at the practice is fabulous. We have seen both Dr. Durkalski and Dr. Cmar and they both really listen and honor your concerns and opinions. We especially enjoyed the dental care, in particular for our two year old. The hygienist was wonderful, allowing him to lay on his mom while they checked out his teeth. They took their time and adjusted to make him comfortable and at ease. The check-in process even includes resources and information for food, housing, bus transportation, and more. Really thorough and thoughtful. There was a screen that talked about Metro giving Patient Centered care. We most definitely felt that. Recommend 1000%.

If you aren't able to pay, they will still turn you away, despite what their website says. If you make barely over the sliding scale qualified income, which is 27,000 before taxes, you're just SOL. They do not care if you have an emergency or urgent needs and do not offer any financing or payment plans. I hope someone else has better luck here, but this is important to know since they provide no information about their financial policies on their website.

I told my doctor about persistent headaches and instead of referring to a specialist she said she was going to report me to the dmv. Migraines run in my family so itā€™s nothing new. You would really try to take away someoneā€™s license on something so treatable?

Firstly, metro is a great place with great staff however there are a few concerns that could be better. Living further from the facility telecom appointments are a wonderful feature to have, but I did have an important telecom appointment where I did get ghosted without any form of communication while I waited to be seen. Aside from this one incident in person appointments have been more than helpful with very friendly staff.

After getting nowhere with the dentists in my network and area I was referred to Metro from the Mission of Mercy Dental Expo. Knowing I need several things done with my teeth I was apprehensive to call, From the first call Leslie was so kind , she empathized with my dental woes & was able to get me in later the same day with Dr.Maslo which did a extensive exam and went over our future plans for saving my teeth. I have been back twice now and every time staff was friendly, thorough, clean and super professional.
