I was impressed with how cool this place was. We were able to visit for free using the Sunflower Summer app. There were really neat artifacts, crystals, animals, etc. My kids really enjoyed this place.

Excellent museum with hair-raising, artistic arrangements of artifacts and animatronics! I have seen animatronics galore, but Sternberg went the extra mile and set them up photographically as if you were in the Cretaceous. Initially, my five year-old refused to approach the dinos but after spending an hour in the amazing Discovery Room he actually asked to enter. He had to work up to it but was so glad he did. This experience of science and evolutionary theory will change his life. I appreciate having such an opportunity so close to home. I grew up in driving distance from Chicago's Field Museum and that had a major impact on my interest in science and ultimately my choice of professions. Biology, Chemistry and Paleontology are all well represented here. And the collection of rattlesnakes is amazing!

This Museum was a fun little off the road find on our way back from Denver. We had so much fun and I’d highly recommend anyone of all ages.

It was a lot of full the staff were very nice and helpful! The exhibits were cool all the live animals were a surprise and the stuff there for little ones to do was great! This was worth the drive from Wichita. You can easily spend two hours here if you got kiddos and they love dinosaurs and all things animals and exploring☺️

So great! Stopped on our way to Colorado to give our toddler a break. Lots to see for kids of any age with hands on areas and live animals. Perfect sized museum to spend an hour or many! Really glad we stopped! Also, plenty of room to park an RV/trailer. Gift shop prices are super reasonable.

We enjoyed our visit to the museum. It was a Sunday afternoon, there were families with children enjoying the educational experience. It's big and there are many different features, so there will be sections of more or less interest to everyone. I personally found a couple sections a little boring, and then other sections very interesting. Amazing fossils. The only part I didn't like at all was the two big beautiful tortoises living in a dark walled corner area with concrete floors and nothing natural in their surroundings at all. It just seemed so cold and cruel. Besides that, I recommend it as a nice way to spend a few hours.

Incredible, definitely worth the trip! The displays are creative and skillfully done. Love the live animals too. The reptiles, mostly native, were housed perfectly in super clean environments. Well done Sternberg and the gift shop carries an array of Kansas authors and educational as well as just plain fun books to add to my collection,! Will go again

We had such a great experience overall. The museum is super clean and easy to navigate. They have a variety of things on display from mineral and fossils to live animals and interactive activities. We throughly enjoyed the dinosaurs on display now and my daughter had a great time in the discovery center. I work with reptiles professionally, venomous snakes specifically, and was thrilled to see an exhibit a about rattlesnakes. I enjoyed the spread of North American species on display. Lots of nice information was available on the boards to read. The enclosures of the rattlesnakes (and other herps throughout the museum) are smaller for some species than I'd prefer but I understand that space is limited and all of the enclosures were clean with various textures, hiding, climbing, and visually appealing decor so it appears that they want to do as well for the animals as they can. A couple of rattlesnakes and the boa were quite overweight though so I'd love to see them again a little bit slimmed down. Regardless, I would absolutely visit again.

A gem my family has visited throughout the years. With great fossils and live animals from snakes to dart frogs, it's a fun experience I enjoyed greatly in my childhood. Well worth popping in if you and your family are in the area.

Excellent place for adults and children both, plan to spend a few houre as the exhibits are wonderful. They have a nice gift shop you very reasonable pricing. You can also get soft drinks there as well. Kids love the Discovery Zone and honestly make thake 2 hours itself. Definitely a must stop museum that in my opinion should be on everyones map. Also every rattlesnake in North America.

Price is reasonable. Good for families. Interesting layout in a dome-shaped building. It seems to be showing some age as some of the signs are faded and the ceiling insulation is aging. Plan on at least an hour. Two hours if you read through everything carefully.

This is definitely worth a stop. Nice exhibits of local prehistoric fossils and a fantastic diorama with an awesome t-rex that was life-like enough that it made my 4 year old a little uncomfortable.😉 Speaking of kids, the kids room is the best hands-on learning center I've seen in a museum like this. They also have a nice assortment of live reptiles and amphibians.

We were traveling through and wanted to stop to let our one year old stretch his legs. We were introduced by the sweetest lady at the front desk and she was very informative. It ended up being such a fun pit stop we spent about an hour and a half here. There's live snakes, frogs, turtles, and fish, which was a nice surprise. The exhibits are placed where he's not tempted to touch anything he's not supposed to, which is really nice. He spent a lot of time running around the Dinosaur Diorama and loved the dinosaur noises. The animatronic T-Rex was pretty cool. He was a little wary of it. 😄 There's also a kids' play and rest area with benches part way through, and a kids' "discovery room" with a lot of different activities at the end I believe. Highly recommend stopping to stretch your legs and check this place out!
