Really amazing place! Been there twice now. Everyone I've brought there has liked it a lot! 1st time we were there the owner came out and greeted us sat right down and asked how everything was and offered us a free cup of Lobster Bisque. It was amazing!! She told us her story and it was beautiful. I think she's 90 and she said she still comes and works everyday. The decor is so cool and we love the outside seating area. Food & drinks were awesome! Love the seasoned fries!

The Chattaway has been a family tradition for my FL relatives for many years. Whenever I visit, we keep the tradition alive. This was my second visit in the past year and the service, food quality and general atmosphere are still wonderful. My family member loves the Grouper Platter and it is a special treat for her to have when I’m there. The staff and owners are lovely people that make me feel like a regular with their care and kindness. The regulars are also great folks and are happy to chat and share stories of their adventures. The live music, fun decor and the atmosphere provide a wonderful, welcoming, peaceful vibe! Looking forward to seeing you all again in a few months!

The food was tasty. The people were kind. The service was good. I tried a few items to get variety, and it was more than I could eat. I like my chowder with a bit more Old Bay (grew up in Maryland), and they brought some for me. Fish and Chips are as good as you will find in England, which makes sense since the matriarch is for there. Family owned and operated, and 3 generations work it. They even give a military discount. I highly recommend.

This was our first time here and it was fabulous! You must know that it is CASH ONLY. They do have an ATM on site you can use. There is ample seating outside and some is covered and has fans. There is also limited seating inside. You also can choose to sit at the bar if you like. Our party had Fish and Chips, Blackened Grouper sandwich with cajun fries, Blackened Grouper sandwich with onion rings and the Seafood Platter. Everyone LOVED their food. They even brought us out a sample of their famous Lobster Chowder which I will come back for. Our server, Elijah, was very knowledgeable and friendly and didn't miss a beat. The only downside for me was that our soda was in a can so no free refills. (Bummer) Food, service, everything knocked out of the ballpark. Please get fountain drinks!!

Thanks to Jill, Amanda and grandchildren we had an amazing Dixie Chicks Ladies Luncheon. Many of us were brought to the Chataway by our parents, neighbors and school chums. We had a delightful day 🥰 Be blessed and carry on 🫖

This place is CASH ONLY, they’re definitely within their rights to only accept cash, but in this age it’s an inconvenience to the customer (at least my family). Otherwise pretty standard American fare, nothing special. Where this place really shines is the cute outdoor atmosphere/environment. The owners have really created a nice space to enjoy a meal.

We had to stop in at the Chattaway for a snack & drink! Charming spot to enjoy comfort food in a casual setting! The lobster chowder is delicious, the conch fritters very tasty! Fried mushrooms are good but heavy on the breading... be sure to look check out the formal tea room!

Absolutely love this place! It's been in the original location since the 50s. The food is fantastic, made with care and love. I highly recommend the lobster chowder. It's absolutely the best I've ever had. I also recommend eating in the dining room. You'll be very surprised.

What a Great way to Experience the beauty of Old Florida..... And Dog Friendly Restaurant. Delicious Breakfast Buffet(Weekends only), Spaghetti Lunch Special on Thursday and Fried Grouper and Burgers Sandwiches everyday!

Chattaway is awesome! An Old Town St. Pete landmark that is a must if you like a casual atmosphere, with local musicians every night and a great vibe. I always get their Beyond burger, but they offer many other dishes including hamburgers and fish or chicken sandwiches as well. VERY IMPORTANT: They only accept cold, hard cash. Either bring cash or you have to use their ATM, which it charges a $3 fee aside from what your bank will charge you. Note to Chattaway: It's about to be 2021, can you please start accepting cards? I still love you, but ... seriously.

We tried the fried chicken and the fish and chips and loved absolutely everything. The food was hot the fries were delicious the coleslaw wonderful. Definitely going back we saw other people with jumbo shrimp and they were huge.

What a cute place! Staff a super friendly! Wish I'd gotten our waiters name (we say by the fence by the road at one of the two tablets), but he was really hospitable. The atmosphere on the outside patio was so nice with a performer and get guitar, too. They only accept cash but have an ATM inside. Going inside even more beautiful! Really liked this place!

Good casual food (burgers, fish, chicken) on a beautifully decorated outdoor patio. Don’t miss this eclectic place, especially in a weekend evening when their is live music. At Christmas time the decor is insane.

Nice lil hide away, food was GOOD. The lobster chowder was excellent with lump lobster and seasoned but not salty. The conch fritters and open faced sandwich was amazing, i will be going back.

Talk about night and day! The outside is an adorable garden and the inside a beautiful English tea room! Live music every night at 6 in the garden! The new cocktail waitress was amazing and showed us around. Beer and wine only. Did not eat just stopped by to take a look.

I found this restaurant by reading a novel and the restaurant sounded so intriguing I looked it up and found it was a real place with really good reviews and I loved the pictures of the restaurant especially the bathtubs. So when we were in St Pete's we decided to eat there the food was great and our waiter Brody was a lot of fun and very informative. The food is excellent and I would recommend eating at this restaurant anytime you're in St Petersburg.

Growing up in the area. This was one of my favorite places to get a burger. Then, about ten years ago, the food just wasn't the same. It has been over 10 years since I have been back. I'm so glad I came back to give them another chance today. The burger is back, baby. 7 oz and perfect. The fries were awesome. Steak fries are my favorite. The atmosphere has always been very cool at this place. The best is outdoor seating. I will definitely be back soon.

What a great time! Chattaway has so much "good vibe" atmosphere! Walk through their entrance over a Koi pond into a large outdoor space with so much to see and enjoy. We throughly enjoyed their new food options that also includes some of the old timers favorites, like the original Cattaway burger. Their Cod is scrumptious and a meatless option is a welcomed choice, original recipe from the old days. If you want to enjoy a delicious meal, excellent service in a beautiful setting....look no further. Note; it's cash only. There's an ATM on premise but it's good to know ahead of time for peeps that don't like using an off site from bank ATM.

1st timer with the wife and son and it was amazing!! Chicken dinner is some of rhe best chicken I've ever had and the wife had blackened grouper!! Will definitely be back soon loved the atmosphere and hospitality!!

Fun atmosphere, but don't go here if you're looking for good or fresh food. The waitor specifically told me the chicken fingers were hand breaded in the kitchen and they were typical frozen chicken fingers. The burgers are juicy but aren't seasoned at all.

Great outdoor dining spot at tables under sail shade, the bar or cabanas, live music also regularly scheduled. Good draft beer selection and so wanted the food to be good…on a couple of occasions enjoyed the conch fritters, but sweet potato fries were cold when served with hot fish? Promptly replaced. Filling chowder enough for a meal. Preordered the fried chicken specialty since it takes :30 to cook and boy was I feeling fried insides the next day ;( ugh. Great service. Family owned and operated forever and met the lovely owner Jill from the UK which explains the inside Tea Room. Available parking, could be challenging getting over the small entry bridge koi ponds. As mentioned, good place for outside hangouts.

Such a lovely place, outdoor sitting, amazing service, Shirley my server was so friendly and made great recommendations, she was always smiling and stopped everytime to chat which I enjoyed so much, she made my day. Food was great and they have so many options on their menu.

We had the MOST lovely time in the tea room this past weekend. Amanda was helpful & awesome from the day we booked. Communication was top notch. The food was delightful! All the accoutrements were so fun!! I can’t say enough :) Amanda answered all of our questions with grace and was the best host for our party. We had an amazing experience!! Cute little place, the decorations and lights and everything are so nice. Did not go inside tho. Patio seating was wonderful, great service, did not catch the waitresses name but she was very helpful and attentive. Food was delicious, corn fritters are just phenomenal 🤤 overall 10/10 next time I'm in town I'd love to visit again.

I ordered the fried chicken and replaced fries and coleslaw with beans&rice and a salad, which, perhaps, I should not have. Everything was fresh and well cooked, but the beans tasted like they came straight from a can and everything was so under seasoned (as in no seasoning whatsoever) I struggled to eat it; for a 60 year old recipe, I was severely disappointed. However, the service was impeccable, and the conch fritters alone deserve a 4 star rating. Absolutely go here, and absolutely get them if you go!

The service and food were great. Very family oriented. My grandfather Bishop John Copeland used to eat here a lot. This was my first time trying Chattaway and I will definitely be back. I had the original chattaburger and a sample of the lobster chowder.

The original burger never fails to please! My son had the chicken sandwich and was equally impressed. Spent some time afterwards chatting with the owner which is always a pleasure! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Chattaway's is a St Petersburg institution which you should patronise whenever you can!

I don't have enough stars to give. I've heard of this place for years, but have never stopped in for one reason or another. However, on the way home from the Ft. Desoto Dog Beach today I was in search of a dog friendly place to grab a good meal, and BOY did this place deliver. The owner and her son came and sat at a table near me and started up a lovely chat with me as I waited for my food, both gushing over my two dogs. I felt such a warmth and welcome here. Miss Jill (I believe that was her name; sorry if it's incorrect) referred to herself as my dogs' grandma, and I loved it. Just such a lovely vibe about the place. The service was also impeccable! And the FOOD! The blackened grouper sandwich was cooked and seasoned to absolute perfection and the key lime pie was absolutely incredible. And before tip? My meal, drink, and dessert cost less than $25. Unbelievable. This is my new favorite spot in St. Pete.

I asked a local to give me a recommendation for a good place we could eat that would accommodate us and the kids and this was one of his recommendations. It was great! It is outdoors but it’s not a problem because it is well shaded and have fans all around. The service was great and fast since we had hungry kids. The food was very tasty and even the owner came to check in on us. I would recommend this place.
