WOW! Just played our first Sunday night at Stottlemyer’s Smokehouse (2/20/22) and what a FUN place! Food is excellent and a HUGE Tiki! Great people came out tonight and they had a blast! There was a gal there, “Kay” that had some awesome handmade jewelry there for sale too! Definitely a place you need to check out if you’re new to the area! All the locals LOVE this place! There’s two different entrances, and a designated “take out” area for those more inclined for an evening home with good food. I include pics and videos for you! Worth a visit!

We went here for lunch and had the fried chicken, Mac & cheese, and fried okra. Everything was delicious! Also had the cornbread that they bring out when you sit down, which was delicious also. There was a good solo musician playing. Overall it was a good lunch and a great experience. We'll definitely be back!

Went on a Friday night and had the Mahi tacos - very good. The beans & rice were awesome. They were busy but service & food delivery was pretty prompt. Nice atmosphere and band was playing.

The place has great music and food and is about as relaxed as humanly possible. Love the staff here; they take care of their customers. Huge thanks to the bar crew for treating me so well.

Absolutely loved the atmosphere reminded me of a place I used to go to when I lived in Hawaii. We fried green tomatoes with bbq ranch (so good) and the gizzards 😋 For dinner I had the catfish dinner with greens and mac & cheese. Being a chef foodie and enjoying good southern greens with catfish is good when they're done right. The greens were missing the vinegar and pinch of sugar to taste, greens shouldn't be oily. The catfish was more than enough and very tasty, the Mac and cheese was good and cheesy, like it should be 👍 definitely recommend!

A fun place to eat, socialize, and hear live music. Large tiki bar area with stage for live music and restaurant adjacent. Must add that place was well ventilated. The staff were great and professional. Friday night bar crowd was 40s and up. Wasn't too hungry so ordered the pulled pork cornbread smokestack app and smoked wings to share. The app was fantastic with ample amount of excellent pulled pork on top of cornbread and side of delicious coleslaw. The smoked wings were fall off the bone goodness. The food and staff were excellent, the band entertaining, and crowd friendly. Will definitely be back.

Food is perfectly cooked and has good portion sizes. Great atmosphere, live music often. Good for large groups. Easy access for handicapped. Staff is friendly. Not Texas style bbq so lacks seasoning/ flavor but more a personal preference than lack of quality.

Stottlemyer’s is a slice of old Florida - It’s hard to find a place like this anymore. A really wide variety of food and all is high quality. But the real draw is the live music. Plus, lots of outdoor seating so you can bring the pooch too. Due to its location, we like to stop by Stottlemyer’s when we are driving north through Sarasota since 75 is almost always a parking lot in the early evening. We can grab some BBQ, catch some tunes, and wait for the traffic to die down.

As a born and bred Texan, I'm more than familiar with bbq, and roadhouses. This place satisfies. Good chow, the band was great, and our server, Peyton, was friendly, efficient and attentive. (ask for her!)

We are camping right across the street and we’re looking forward to a delicious barbecue meal. I called and ordered the lean brisket basket. It comes with two sides and we ordered mac & cheese and baked beans. Because I had asked for the meat to be lean I expected just that. If you see the attached photo you will see that is an inordinate amount of fat. And we paid for the 12 ounce basket!!. Also the website listed it comes with cornbread and there was none in the order. The meat that was there was tender and tasty but we certainly did not get what we asked for.

Maybe expecting smoker pits to be blazing by noon was poor judgement by me, possibly. Anyways, I pass this joint alot in my travels. I see the huge sign, VOTED BEST BBQ IN MANATEE blah blah blah. Ok I'm intrigued. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt I was there before noon and the BBQ was definitely from the night before. Most likely reheated. It wasn't bad though. I can't lie. Very tasty but I know when food is microwaved. Which is why I'll give it another shot during evening hours. The place looks like alot of fun. I had the pulled pork, brisket and Mac n cheese stuffed into a giant pretzel.

Great place - unassuming from the front - but out back is great - the cornbread, fried pickles and gizzards were amazing. Order the BBQ sampler - enough for 2+ people incredible - huge portions, incredible food and service! Close to I-75 worth a stop

Service was very friendly and good. Food was okay. I got one of the daily specials, pretzel with pulled pork, brisket and mac&cheese. Brisket was dry with a LOT of burnt ends - some were charcoal. Pulled pork was average. Mac was very cheesy. Others had half chicken and pulled pork. Pork was a hit. Sweet potato fries were very good, onion rings were good and had like a beer batter on them, fried cabbage was split. I'd go again and try something else. Live entertainment was a nice touch. Pets are welcome in the patio seating.

This is a fantastic place. Our dogs were welcomed with open arms and there were cello dog owners at the place. I really loved my smoked poppers and chicken wings as I am on keto and both those things fit into my diet.

This is truly an old Florida traditional restaurant. You get the authentic roadside diner experience, but with a laid-back, comfortable vibe. We usually do pick up, and the food is consistently fantastic. If you are going to only try one thing, you should get the nachos, the flavor combo of pulled chicken, baked beans and coleslaw is surprisingly excellent.

Amazing food, awesome atmosphere, and most importantly superb service. The food is amazing. The complimentary cornbread they bring to the table is to die for. We went in Labor Day because we were in the area. My husband eats there often, so he wanted to share his find. Our waitress was phenomenal. Only sad part is that the food was so good, I forgot to take pictures.

We went here for the first time last week and found it to be much better than we thought. We both had their beef brisket and it melted in your mouth. The sides could have been a little larger but the prices were reasonable compared to other places. The live band was really good playing a variety of music, there’s dancing on the patio and overall the atmosphere was very Florida. For casual dining we’ll be going back!

Went on Tuesday open mike night and had a blast. Great friendly singers and musicians, very entertaining, surprising talent. Place is a charming and relaxing garden. My server was Amber who was fun and kind and quick with a great smile. Kids sprawling all over her at tables as she patiently balanced trays loaded with drinks. Wine and salad were well priced, delicious. Hope to go back again soon! Remember to go early, you must sign up before 6, and don't forget rush hour traffic. 😉

It's one of my favorite BBQ places, I drove an hour just to come here. Always has amazing food, service, atmosphere, and corn bread. I got the pretzel trio, killer combo. Mac and cheese is to die for here. Even if you don't eat meat, you have to get the Mac and Cheese!! Had enough to take home and have 1 more meal and a snack. Pretzel was great when it came out fresh, but not the best reheated, in my opinion. The meat is so juicy and tender, and it goes great with their BBQ sauce. They only have two sauces, OG and Spicy, but they taste great. THE CORN BREAD IS THE BEST! Must come here, even if it's an hour away, maybe even 2.

I had the best damn nachos I’ve had in years here! Fresh brisket, baked beans, coleslaw (with pineapples?!), cheese and jalapeños. I definitely recommend. The indoor seating is in a covered, mostly screened patio with fans which looks pretty neat, but be prepared if you’re expecting AC. It was comfortable at noon in late July.

We had lunch with out of town friends at Stottlemeyer's and had an amazing experience! The manager, Vaughn, was very entertaining. Our server was Nicki. She was fast, efficient and cordial. Everyone in our party loved the food, hospitality and atmosphere of the restaurant. We'll be back and recommend you eat there as well.

Veggie Tacos has an abundance of flavor 😋 Ample filing which fills the tummy like a meal 🌮 Salmon Burger was thick and moist. Could not ask for more perfection on cooking skill 🍔
