Rip off I’ve eaten at Peruvian chicken places all over the country.. literally dozens and dozens. Never have I felt such an unfair value. I was shocked to see my total was $50. I looked at the itemized receipt and was so confused at how they could charge some of these prices, but since they had my food all packaged all up I bit the bullet. Want some extra sauce? The cashier that takes your order has no idea how much sauce comes in their “bigger” jar that’s available, and forgets to mention that is $8.75?? Am I paying for the jar?? INSANE. At that rate I could’ve almost ordered another entree. I was willing to overlook the sauce situation even though it’s absurd. But when I got home to open up my food.. that was when I discovered the true icing on the cake. To preface, this restaurant will not allow you to get yuca or plantains as a side with a combo meal, which obviously are the sides most people want. I ordered a side of yuca anyway for $4.75 only to find when I open it up that it only comes with 5 pieces of yuca?? Never seen this in my life, nearly a $1.00 per yuca fry is INSANE. Every single other Peruvian chicken restaurant I’ve been too will give a heaping pile of yuca fries. However upon getting my receipt back I noticed that there’s also a credit card surcharge that wasn’t mentioned on my original receipt, or by the cashier.. so seriously disappointed by this place. They’re trying to steal from you here. Garbage restaurant with garbage ownership

Located just a few miles from downtown, and convenient to the airport, Cuenelli’s is a great find. While their specialty is no doubt their rotisserie chicken, the rest of the menu is just as appealing. Many central and south American style dishes to choose from. The food came quickly and tasted incredible. They have a rather unique green sauce that is absolutely delicious. Service was a little less than I expected, but they made up for it with the food.

Yes, you can buy a 5$ chicken at costco, one that has been locked up in a huge cage and died because of hormones making its legs and lower body too fat to even walk. Or you can buy from here where the chicken is obviously very high quality (wings look like from a normal chicken) and cooked slowly so that the meat just falls of the bone, both dark and white, in also supporting small business. Fair prices and the sauces that come with the chicken are to die for.

First and foremost, I would like to start off by saying that Cuenelli’s was both my girlfriend and I’s favorite rotisserie location in all of Tampa since we’ve moved here in 2016. However, I must say that I am ashamed to find out that the prices on the Family Combo skyrocketed to $32.99. This is just insane. I ended up buying 2 not realizing the $8 price hike and have never felt so ashamed to see that I spent close to $100 on both combos. I had also bought two bottles of yellow and green ahi that I’ve always enjoyed. Only to find out that the bottle has now shrunk and the price went up on that as well (Please see image before and after). It’s such a shame because I can understand inflation but there are other rotisserie places nearby that also increased their combos but nowhere the percentage Cuenelli’s raised it by. At some point, it becomes a matter of using the inflation model to take advantage of your customers. I have this upset feeling knowing how much I just spent in this place I used to love. I could’ve used that $100 to go eat at a Brazilian steakhouse. When I came back to show my gf the receipt, she was stunned which added more to the embarrassment. I was also saddened to know that friends that I had introduced to Cuenellis stopped going there due to the costs. I immediately called them and they said “That’s why we stopped going there”. You are better off getting a rotisserie combo from El Tipico Criollo where the combo is still at respectable price post inflation. FYI, this review hurt my soul to write.

We got there very excited to try the food, after waiting for a bit we got served. My wife and I asked for Pollo a la Brasa (Peruvian rotisserie chicken) however what we got wasn’t even close. The food we received seemed to be left overs from the day before that was just deep fried and put on a plate to be served to us, what a huge disappointment, we asked our server if this was the kind of food they served on this restaurant and she replied “yes sir, it is”, I asked her to try it an tell me what she thought about it but she refused…..needless to say we didn’t eat it, pay our bill and walked out never to come back ever again. That meal was a total shame and this restaurant should really do better and give their customers way better food and service. DO NOT GO HERE!!!….I wouldn’t recommend it!. You have been advised.

First Timer & I would go back & would reccomend it to friends. Quaint & Cozy, the food was awesome well seasoned and full of flavor. It was cooked by order so the wait time was at least 15 minutes to take it to go. I enjoyed it a lot. Also really nice ambience.

I really wanted to love this place but this was by far the worst Peruvian chicken I have ever had. The chicken was small and super dry, the rice was overly seasoned, the sauces weren’t the same as the others I’ve had before. The sauces were so salty and just bad. The people running the place were so nice but this food was not good.

Some context, my gf is actually not a huge fan of rotisserie chicken and didn't really want to come here. But I'm Peruvian and I told her to trust me, Peruvian rotisserie chicken hits different. And boy was I right! This was soooo good. We almost finished an entire rotisserie chicken between the two of us 🤐. We also got the cilantro rice which reminds me of what I used to eat growing up. And despite some of the other reviews, our service was actually very good! Can't wait to go back!

This place has the best sandwiches! Especially the chicken sandwich, that one is amazing and you get a huge amount for the price. There's also meal plates which also comes with rice and beans, which are also good. The best part is the value. Each sandwich is only $10, and meal plates vary from $10-15, which is more then worth it. Definitely come here for lunch if you're able to!

Being from NYC, we've been to some great Peruvian restaurants and have had a hard time finding a good one that has rotisserie chicken in Tampa until now. Great food, fast service, excellent and courteous staff.

I ordered from here for the first time today to use the chicken in a recipe. The chicken is so tasty and so tender. I will definitely be ordering from here again! The rice is spot on and delicious as well. Very good find . I would recommend anyone to eat here

This place is not your typical restaurant. It’s daily lunch specials are good and cheap (beats all fast food restaurants). The best value and taste for the money! The service is quick and excellent. Authentic Peruvian flavors. The chicken was the juiciest chicken I’ve had in quite some time, it's the best chicken in all Tampa. I would recommend anyone to eat here. It came with a yellow and green sauce are really enigma and complement the excellent taste

Our families goto for Rotisserie chicken and great food! Not just your average chicken. It's actual chicken with flavor and nice skin. The rice is delicious along with their beans and their special spicy sauces! Can't go wrong here at all. Always the same quality for the years I've been eating here.

We had Nicole as our server. The pollo a la brasa with fries and rice was really good. I was so glad that they had Kola Inglesa. Everyone should try this place!

Oh my! The chicken here is amazing we visited this restaurant today for lunch and we couldn’t be happier with the food, the sauce, the service and the overall experience, the prices are fair and the atmosphere was great. We highly recommend and will be visiting again soon.

The food here was awesome. Service was also excellent. I want to make a specific call out to be passion fruit juice. Delicious! The size of the meals are generous, two of three people at my table we're not able to finish their lunch. We had a couple of specific preferences and they catered to them with Grace and accuracy

A bucket list item for the wife was the cilantro rice at a Peruvian restaurant and today we finally went. The food here is very good, the place seems popular and the server was very sweet. We opted for the family dinner in order to take some home, it came with 3 sides and 2 different sauces. The chicken " a la brasa" was excellent, very flavorful and juicy. The sauces were both good, a tad of heat but not overly so. The tostones were well made and crispy. The rice was good but the wive said she's had better. The black beans right on point. The flan was really superb, a bright spot in the meal. Choose your table wisely as there are many cold spots and our food turned cold very quickly. Also, the "Mil Hojas" pastry was hard and dense, apparently this was info the server was aware of but did not think of sharing. Knowing what I know, I would go again. At least now I am better prepared for the experience. We left sooner than planned so we could heat our food at home to better enjoy it.

The chicken here is delicious and so are the cilantro rice and black beans. It comes with green sauce which is good, but the yellow sauce is way better (to me anyways). Delicious! Definitely will be back. Similar to pollo tropical chicken, but better.

Love Cuenelli's. We are from DC where Peruvian chicken is one of our favorites... this place used to be in Brandon, Florida but the restaurant moved to Tampa. We love to drive over because we love it so much! Pollo a la Brasa is moist, flavorful and served in great portions. Don't forget to try the Inca Cola and alfajor cookies too!

I’m in town for work and Cuenelli’s was recommended to me. Mmmmm their rotisserie chicken is so good. I’ve been there twice already in a week and probably will stop by again before I leave town.

Let me start by saying that this is the first review I’ve ever left for any restaurant, however I feel like I would be doing an injustice if I do not come on here to let those of you on Google know just how amazing this place is! My family are all very particular eaters, but we enjoy trying new things. I heard about this restaurant through some friends and decided to try it last weekend. We ended up ordering the family meal with cilantro rice, chicken, spicy beans, and salad. The chicken was the juiciest chicken I’ve had in quite some time, the spicy beans were just enough to pull in all the surrounding flavors, and don’t get me started on the rice lol 🤤 It came with a green sauce and a yellow sauce and I will say, I’m already trying to figure out how I can order the yellow sauce to be delivered to my front door step weekly! The staff were super friendly and extremely attentive, and the prices were beyond reasonable. Already making plans to go back and try out the rest of their menu!

Cuenelli’s has easily become my favorite restaurant here in Tampa. Authentic type of vibe inside.. waitresses are very friendly and professional. The rotisserie chicken is to die for combined with the cilantro rice and black beans it’s like a party in your mouth. The flan is delicious also! The food is always consistently amazing and tasty.

This is authentic and great food. A hidden jem that deserves a much better overall average rating. The white rice, cilantro rice, chicken, and steak are all fantastic. Servers were outstandingly helpful, respectful and attentive (note the place was not crowded - surprising for a Friday early evening).

I eat here all the time. I just had a take out order. Their yellow sauce and green sauce had way too much salt. I don't know if they updated the recipe or something, but it made my meal inedible.
