I've been training here for almost 2 years. I've had martial arts experience elsewhere and I have to say this is the most welcoming and enjoyable place to train! Our instructor, Sam, is very knowledgeable and patient. Whether you're looking for an after-school program for your kids or looking to train yourself, this is the place to be!

If you're looking to get into MMA or improve your skills (which you can always do) then I recommend this gym. The people here are knowledgeable, and likeable and overall it was a good experience. My first day was not a training session, but open mat, and I had a blast. I'm not sure how the other days are but I assume they will be great as well. Coming from someone who has loved fighting for years I'd really recommend this gym.

My son loves the grappling free style at the end of each class. Kids classes are Monday-thursday 5:45pm-6:30pm

Great place to train. Sam is a very humble guy to train under and his knowledge of bjj is second to none. Me and my daughter both train at cross guard and we both love it. I would encourage anyone to come down and check this place out!

Best BJJ school in Plant City and the Head Coach and Owner Samuel Kimmel does an amazing job with the kids AND the adults. Happy to call this new gym home for now!

This is a great community made up of coaches, students, and parents who care. I've worked with Coaches Cory and Sam at the NAGA Tournaments for some time now and both are kind, ethical, intelligent, humble guys who also happen to be highly respected BJJ Black Belts. The facility is very spacious, super clean (The bathrooms were so clean I thought they used toothbrushes on the toilets) and there's plenty of opportunities for open training, private lessons, and structured classes. What I like most about this particular academy is the encouraging environment they've created. There's a healthy non-bro-ish competitive spirit. Students are always cheering their classmates on, encouraging each other to push a bit harder, do better, and be the best they can be. It's a really inspiring culture, which is easy to get into and something many people could use in his/her lives. If you or anyone you know is looking to get (and stay) in shape, learn how to fight, or just looking for a fun, new hobby, definitely check Carlson Gracie Plant City out.

I was visiting from out of town and looking for a place to train. I found Professor Samuel Kimmel's gym a very welcoming place. He was very hospitable and his students were friendly. The location was good and easy to find. The gym was clean and well kept. I could tell that Professor Samuel took much pride in his school, his students, and his jiu jitsu. Had a BLAST, Professor! It was a pleasure to come and visit, and I hope to come back very soon.

Amazing place to learn Jiu Jitsu. Sam is a great instructor and will push you past your limits along with teaching you great techniques. Everyone there is friendly and will help you learn along the way.

This place is awesome. Good humble people willing to work with people from out of town, and make them feel like family. Absolutely loved it. Recommend them 100 %. Hard to find a legit black belt willing to share all his knowledge take advantage people! I have to drive 2 and a half hrs from home just to find a legit Brazilian Jiu-jitsu black belt to train with. 5 stars. COME CHECK THIS PLACE OUT. Their kids program is legit too!

I will be signing my son up for jiu jitsu shortly, the instructors and brandy are very welcoming and understanding. My son loved having his first free lesson today and he's very excited to come back!
