This
is
my
go
to
Starbucks
as
it’s
in
close
proximity
to
my
house
and
on
my
way
to
work.
However,
after
the
recent
experience
I
had
on
Sunday,
October
30th
I
will
likely
not
return
to
this
location.
As
a
new
mother,
my
baby
is
3
months,
I
suppose
I
have
more
empathy
than
others
for
fellow
new
moms.
Life
is
already
challenging
enough
being
a
new
parent,
the
last
thing
that
needs
to
happen
is
something
interfering
with
us
getting
our
little
cup
of
solace.
While
I
was
waiting
in
the
line,
a
mother
with
her
2
month
old
baby
was
sitting
inside
trying
to
console
her
crying
newborn.
However,
she
was
approached
by
the
manager,
Mikayla,
and
told
she
needed
to
leave.
The
mother
was
attempting
to
change
her
baby’s
diaper
at
the
table
closest
to
the
bathroom
and
furthest
from
other
guests….
Due
to
the
fact
that
the
bathrooms
do
not
offer
changing
tables.
Apparently
because
she
had
not
yet
purchased
a
drink
or
food
item,
the
manager
told
her
she
needed
to
change
her
child’s
diaper
at
Wawa
and
leave
immediately.
The
manager
caused
a
scene
in
front
of
the
crowded
Starbucks,
embarrassing
a
new
mother
during
what
was
clearly
a
challenging
moment
for
the
mother
and
her
baby.
Instead
of
trying
to
accommodate
the
mother
and
her
baby,
the
manager
was
rude
and
inconsiderate.
Come
to
find
out,
the
mom/baby
were
just
passing
through
while
traveling
back
up
north
and
she
was
just
trying
to
stop
somewhere
to
get
a
few
minutes
out
of
the
vehicle
with
her
baby.
Instead,
she
was
isolated
and
condemned.
Treated
as
if
she
and
her
child
were
a
burden….
When
in
reality-
Starbucks
having
no
changing
table
was
the
biggest
issue
I
could
identify
in
this
happenstance.
Motherhood
is
already
isolating
enough-
no
need
to
isolate
us
further
by
not
putting
changing
tables
in
the
bathrooms
and
kicking
a
mother
and
baby
out
because
they
aren’t
“customers”
yet.
I
was
just
baffled
and
put
off
by
what
I
witnessed.
And
speaking
to
the
mother
where
she
sat
outside,
crying
while
feeding
her
baby
a
bottle…
I
guess
it
hit
differently
because
I
could
relate.
But
at
the
same
time-
how
is
this
okay?
I
never
leave
reviews,
but
I
felt
this
incident
and
the
lack
of
changing
tables
at
such
a
BUSY
location
needed
to
be
mentioned
and
addressed.
I
want
to
prevent
anything
remotely
similar
to
this
from
happening
in
the
future,
I
think
that
Mikayla
(manager)
needs
to
also
attend
some
sort
of
empathy
training
and
further
learn
about
customer
service.
