I'd
like
to
begin
by
saying,
Publix
was
a
large
part
of
my
childhood.
Every
birthday
included
a
Publix
birthday
cake
and
every
beach
trip
included
a
stop
by
the
Publix
Deli
for
some
Cubans.
Publix
is
an
institution
in
Plant
City
and
one
my
family
trusted.
So
when
my
fiancé
and
I
decided
to
get
married
in
Plant
City,
the
obvious
choice
for
our
wedding
cake
was
Publix.
I
sorely
regret
that
decision.
The
morning
of
the
wedding,
I
called
the
bakery
at
the
Publix
off
James
Redman
right
after
they
opened
at
7:30
AM.
I
spoke
to
the
bakery
and
they
informed
me
that
the
cakes
that
I
ordered
a
month
prior
were
ready
and
waiting
for
me.
When
I
showed
up
at
10:00
AM,
that's
when
I
knew
something
was
wrong.
The
bakers
claimed
to
have
no
idea
what
I
was
talking
about
and
claimed
that
I
had
never
ordered
a
cake
with
them.
They
then
directed
me
to
the
other
Publix
in
town,
off
Thonotosassa.
After
driving
over
there,
I
got
the
same
answer.
The
baker
at
this
Publix
then
gets
on
the
phone
at
speaks
with
the
bakery
at
the
James
Redman
location.
Miraculously,
my
cakes
had
surfaced.
I
then
made
my
way
back
to
the
original
location
and
retrieved
"my
cakes".
I
was
supposed
to
pick
them
up
at
10:00
AM
and
be
back
at
the
venue,
but
it
was
now
12:30
PM
and
I
had
no
time
to
waste.
Turns
out
the
cakes
that
I
was
given
were
not
the
ones
I
ordered.
I
ordered
one
8
inch
round
cake
and
a
large
sheet
cake,
both
with
their
Raspberry
Rosemary
filling.
It
wasn't
until
our
cake
cutting
ceremony,
during
the
wedding,
that
we
realized
we
were
given
normal
vanilla
cake
with
whip
cream
icing.
I
am
convinced
that
Publix
never
actually
made
the
cakes
I
ordered
and
used
the
"confusion"
that
they
created
to
buy
time
to
throw
together
the
generic
cakes
that
I
was
given.
I
paid
extra
for
a
cake
that
they
baited
and
switched.
I
raved
and
bragged
about
how
good
Publix
was
and
how
amazing
this
cake
was
going
to
be
and
they
turned
out
to
be
the
low-point
of
my
wedding
day.
I
loved
Publix
and
shopped
there
every
chance
I
could.
Never
again.
If
your
planning
on
ordering
a
wedding
cake,
please
do
your
research
and
go
with
a
company
with
integrity.
