Love love love Fred’s! It’s like if Cracker Barrel and Golden Corral had a beautiful baby. Delicious home style cooking buffet with quality ingredients. We went for breakfast and will definitely be back! Oh! And that sweet tea is phenomenal!

Insane! Checked it out for the first time for breakfast and had to come back for lunch. Buffet options only being the number of trips to it. No made to order menu. Good home southern cooking. A wide spread of options on the hot and cold sides with desserts waiting. Staff are very attentive to keeping empty plates away and your unlimited drinks filled. Drinks are an additional cost. They also have take out options, where you can buy different size containers that the locals have learned how to pack just right to maximize value. Great decor that is well maintained. Restroom themed as well and clean. On my top 10 list.

If you love southern food this is the place to go!! They have the best Buffett in the town and it is reasonably priced. About the price of Golden Corral but the quality and taste of the food at Fred’s is way better!! We always love going here for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I suggest going on Wednesday when they have smoked pork!!

Party of 9 aye here 7/6/22. First time here, was recommended by a friend. Wasn’t badly busy for a 4th July weekend. We came here around 11:30/ noon. The food was delicious and well prepared. It’s a buffet style southern restaurant. The strawberry shortcake was amazing. You can’t go to plant city and not get strawberry’s. After all it’s the capitol of the world for them. Your party’s can’t be seated until all members have arrived. The staff was friendly and attentive. Never had empty glasses. The bathrooms were clean and not sticky. Somehow awkward with how the doors worked. Nothing degrading point value. Never had fried catfish before, this did not disappoint! Would have it again anytime from here. You pay at front, plenty if seating. Had toothpicks at counter. Everything runs smooth and takes germ precautions well with gloves, sanitizer, and spoons. The parking spaces can be a bit small and hard to find. Well worth circling the lot a few times. Hope to return soon.

Fred Market Place in Plant city is a very clean place. Staff is very friendly and take care of people needs. While waiting for my table, a lady with impediment was called. She barely can walk, but the guy in the front desk told her he will fine a closer table for her. That was so nice from him. By the way I went for morning breakfast and got pork chops plus many other goodies. Currently they give you a discount if you download their APP.

Delicious home cooked food. So many items to choose from. Depending on the option you pick, you can eat as much as you'd like. Friendly staff, attentive waitress. Wish we had this back home.

Driving on I-4 when my husband spotted a sign for Fred’s Market Place, a quick Google search and we were headed to the restaurant. Now I know I’m gonna get some negative feed back, but this is my experience regarding my dinning experience. Service was incredible, our server Linzee was on top of her game! Our glasses of water were never empty. She was prompt and efficient. Fast forward, the fried chicken was extremely dry, the catfish was just not tasty, the cornbread was also dry. I loved the ranch dressing on my salad. The turkey or chicken gravy, not sure which was absolutely delicious!! The banana pudding was very good. Parking was adequate with easy access in and out of the restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility was good. The restrooms definitely need a facelift. Overall, I’d go back and in fact, look forward to it. Perhaps I will change the review after a second experience.

This is a time tested popular eatery that serves fresh and tasty food, that is welcoming, efficient, and satisfying. Options from one trip to each of the food sections to limitless dining are available. The hostess, servers, and cashiers are pleasant and helpful. Team members replenish the dozens of items in the food offerings frequently and tidily, from southern fried chicken to rainbow trout, barbecue ribs to chicken pot pie, beef stew to sweet potato, fried green tomatoes to grits, soup to salad, and strawberry shortcake to pecan pie. There are enough choices to delight all diners. They provide hot plates for hot food, and cold plates for cold food. Disposable gloves and hand washing station are also available by the food sections. No one should leave this famous establishment hungry, that’s for sure.

We've been eating at Fred's in Plant City for quite some time now. It has maintained very good standards in food that tastes like home cooking. In fact, over the years, we think it has only gotten better. Personally, I think lunch is the best deal. Dinner had gotten really expensive, and that's my only critique of this place. Breakfast is a good deal too, if you like to have a nice big meal in the morning. I commend Fred's for making a sink available to wash one's hands before navigating through the buffet line, and plastic gloves for one's hands for handling the ladles that everyone else has touched. Cleanliness is important to maintaining good health. Buffets may have taken a bad rap in this area, but Fred's is providing sensible options to anyone who wants a clean experience.

I love Buffett restaurants! If you like southern style food, definitely come check this place out. My favorites were the chicken, buns and strawberry shortcake that was at the dessert bar. At the dessert bar, they can customize a dessert for you, which was pretty cool! They also have a little merchandise store. All in all, I enjoyed this experience!

I loved everything about this restaurant except the finding a.parking stop. The food was old fashion country cooking and the dishes were always filled with fresh. I will return for sure but will come for lunch either at 11.30am or wait to 1pm that way during the week all the working people are in and out of there. The servers were amazing and everything was wonderful.

Absolutely fantastic place for lunch. Two of us stopped in on the advice of friends and were definitely not disappointed. Multi generational family owned buffet serving home-style and classic dishes to what appeared to be everyone in town. Even though they were exceptionally busy, service was top notch. Very attentive and friendly folks who left us wanting for nothing. The food was amazing and we ate more than we should have. I had the fried chicken and biscuits and i cant wait to go back to try some of the other items. 10/10 will definitely go again.

If you’re looking for an epic breakfast buffet experience look no further than Fred’s Southern Kitchen in Plant City, FL. It is a must stop every time I am in Florida. They offer a wide variety of breakfast foods as well as some Fred’s favorites. The main item to get when visiting is their fried chicken, which many consider the some of the best in the area. They also have some great breakfast potatoes and sweets. If you’re driving from Orlando to Tampa this is a great stop along the way! @Fettuccini_Alfano

Homemade southern dishes which made you want to go back. Ribs with barbecue sauce are lip smacking good. Biscuits and gravy yummy! Desserts were sweet but worth the calories n gold. Loved the service. My favorite place for southern comfort.

Buffett is extremely popular. The food is always fresh due to turn over. I am not a big fan of buffet's 8n general but this is definitely one of the better ones. Food is good quality, staff is friendly and the place is Clean.... Check it out you won't be disappointed......

If I could give this place ten stars I would!!! Found it on a whim while my grandparents were in town and couldn’t have picked a better spot! If you’re looking for good HOMEMADE southern food then you’ve found the place! And to top it all off, it’s buffet style. Great prices as well we paid $19 per plate for unlimited food! If you want only a plate though they have smaller portion options for $16. Cindy was our server and she was so sweet and accommodating! Couldn’t have asked for better service!

As usual great choice to fill my stomach on a budget. I love the fried chicken and mac and cheese the most. Always a good choice but that baked chicken was still good too. The self made salad was everything. For dessert I had a red velvet cake with frosting. I didn’t take a picture but it is my good too. I’ll be back.

Stopped here for a quick bite to eat with the family, we were craving some southern home cooking and we were pleasantly surprised. They have so many options and everything was fresh, right out of the oven and delicious. The staff was amazing!! They are very observant, friendly, helpful, quick & treated us like we were royalty. We didn’t want to leave. 😄

Home cookin’ - scaled. Some might tell you it’s at 1401 W MLK in Plant City, FL but in fact, Fred’s sits at the intersection of quality and quantity. It’s not often - if ever - that I go to a buffet, get WAY too much food and finish it all, but that’s exactly what happened. I was somehow able to power through the pain, the brain fog and ultimately the food coma - all because the food tasted so damn good. I even went back for a peach cobbler topped with vanilla ice cream (not pictured). I don’t go to Plant City very often, but when I do I’ll eat at Fred’s. Pretty sure our bill was around $50 (pre-tip)

Awesome Southern Style Buffet. One trip plate to the salad bar. Probably 30 items to choose from along with 2 soups ( shrimp gumbo tonight). Dessert bar 5 or 6 items to choose from. Pecan pie with ice cream is my fav. Excellent pie. Main Buffett two types of chicken, Mac n cheese. Mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole , fish, bbq ribs, grits , rice, collard greens, corn bread , roll and fried green tomatoes were on my plate.

A good place to eat but two things detract from the experience... 1) it's pretty expensive. Yeah it's a buffet but for what you pay for a buffet trip I'm sure that just about any other decent restaurant will fill you up just the same with one entree for about the same price. 2) while the food is good, I don't know that it ever actually changes. It would be nice if they had even one small section of the buffet that would rotate between seasonal or even different ethnic dishes every now and then.

One of the best southern buffets around. Great section, everything had good flavor and they even had fried green tomatoes on the buffet. This is a definite must go to if you are in the area. The waiter kept our drinks full and empty plates picked up. The salad bar looked good but I did not want to fill up on salad and not get a chance to try everything else. Still got full and did not get a chance to try everything I wanted. They do have a 10% discount for veterans also. Food on buffet was hot and fresh.

First time I’ve gone to a Fred’s. Greeting was friendly and our waitress was very friendly as well. Good items for trying were : Fried chicken, grilled zucchini, with onions and yellow squash was delicious, sweet potato casserole was awesome, but I would use a little Less Allspice, macaroni cheese was delicious. Salad bar was fine for to make a small salad. Otherwise everything was good when you got to the red velvet cake though, I don’t suggest it it was very dry. you must try the strawberry shortcake ,because my other half says it was delicious as well.

All you can eat buffet, with an option for only 1 plate, just vegetables or no meat. All of the food was fresh. The corn casserole with rich and their best dish. The pulled pork was a dry and adding BBQ sauce is a must. I would pass on the Trout fish as it had a fishy smell and although they had several types of bread, I was not impressed with any of them. Their ice-cream was average and the Pecan Pie was rich and possibly the best I ever tasted.

They were packed when we arrived but still got seated fairly quickly. The food wasn't great but it was good for the price. We spent $33. (Without tip. We left a tip at the table) for two people with one trip to the buffet. They offer a blue plate special for a single trip to the buffet which is what we paid for. The service, however, was great. Everyone was nice and helpful.
