If I could give zero stars I would! I went here because it said they play dance music. When myself and 3 friends walked in and paid to get in, two of my friends were getting money from their ATM at the door and myself and a friend got yelled at for standing to the side of the stairs at the bottom. They said we were in the way and needed to move now! We were to the side and people were coming and going as we were NOT IN THE WAY AT ALL! The guy at the door said “Move it or leave now!” So finally we make our way upstairs and the bartender screams at my friend for asking which floor plays dance music! So we felt so uncomfortable we decide we’re leaving. We walked out of that room and instantly got screamed at by another employee who said I was standing in the way and once again I was up against the wall for 2 seconds NOT IN THE WAY and he told me we need to leave now! What did we do wrong other than come in not dressed as they were?! Wow! Very judgmental place! Rude employees and awful place! Wish we had our money back we paid to get in and were told to leave for standing in one spot for 3 seconds. Never been treated so badly in my life at a club or bar! Stay away!!!

I've just discovered this place only a month ago now i'm a regular I come every other week, It's really a different magical kind of place it's tense and energetic. The atmosphere is really nice and you'll see some good weird stuff when you go in, people wear comfortably what they feel like I mean literally but costume wise people are so chill and friendly as hell to talk to and the staff work hard as hell to accommodate everything that's happening. The drinks are good depending on who you have make them, I usually don't get a drink all the time since it can get pricey; entry fee is good unless it's a special event but usually it's worth it because of how busy and exciting the place gets. Overall One of the most unique clubs I've ever been to I wish there were more places like this and some pretty interesting people here and I love coming whenever I can. Thank you Castle Staff.

Recommended by friends....easy to locate in ybore....bush(security) estimated 10 minute wait time...took 20 minutes but met cool people waiting in line and line moved very fast after wrapping around the castle walls ...bartender tina is very friendly and customer service oriented ...atmosphere amazing, vibe amazing, fun friendly, very attractive people! Good music cheap drinks...recommended to go upstairs first and what happens here(come to find out) exceeded my expectations! First event to look for( ask for mayhem) you will NOT be disappointed!!! Pricing:cheap for amount of fun here! Highly recommend to locals, vacationers! Everyone should visit once! Personal experience: too much I'll need to write a 10 page article!!! Shoutout Chris! Know the rules before going: $10 min for credit card transactions, only go to the bartender you open a tab with, and for some reason expect to have your credit card AND driver's license held if you open a tab. Second floor is very loud, just fyi. The crowd and ambiance are great but I'd like to limit all interactions with staff if I ever go again. My rating is generous because I really do like the place. Just go in knowing their rules.

2/3 of the bars (top main and bottom) had absolutley terrible service(rude, presumptive, bad-actor bartenders, aimless barback who constantly walked around behind the bar and wasted customers time). The top small bar was like a totally different facility with fast, skilled, and kind bartenders. Pretty messed up that they charge for water (yes even a cup, and even a sodawater order with displayed intent to tip) but thats not unique to the bar. Good music and decor and gimmicks. Cigs only sold in the womens restroom. Get very familiar with the club before you try to have a fun/fulfilling/reasonably priced evening. From night of 9/11-9/12.

I love the castle. It’s very fun and moody and there’s a lot of great people. I’ve never had a problem with staff until last night. My wife and I had stepped out and when we were ready to re-enter we were directed to re-enter through where we exited from. As we were about to do that, the woman at the door began to yell at us about how that wasn’t a re-entry point. We had explained that we had re-entered through the main entry door and was told to enter through that exit. She then proceeded to be unnecessarily aggressive loudly stating that she’s seen *me* there before (I’ve been to the castle 3 times before with a large group of people with my wife included and only re-entered once) and that I should know where re-entry was. Eventually we got the main entrance to communicate to her that this was okay. I have begun to go to the castle regularly, however, I have decided to take a good break due to this incident. I left early due to this interaction when typically I stay until close. I can understand the aggression if you’re dealing with a belligerent drunk person but we weren’t that, we were following instructions. I’m not sure if management sees reviews but, regardless, security needs to be reviewed for attitude and treatment towards patrons. If you’re considering the castle for your next night out, I would recommend checking it out, however, dealing with security isn’t worth trying to exit and re-enter again so if you plan to step out, make that your final step out for the night.

Watched security (the bathroom police) physically assault a person by putting them in a head lock, as well as a female who was trying to step in all over being in line for the restroom. Then when I questioned security they completely dismissed the situation and said “it wasn’t their problem”. This security guard went straight to being physical and needs to be trained on de-escalation, as well as how to handle situations regarding the LGBTQ+ community. Honestly disappointed in this place and the staff

2 hour wait and bouncer tried to convince us to pay $50 bribe to get in. Complete robbery honestly EDIT: ok I was super sober when I wrote this review but once we got into the club, I had a fantastic time. Vibes are always great! I changed it to 3 star for this reason

Probably one of the cooler and more interesting places in Ybor/Tampa if you like alternative music, dancing and aesthetic. There are multiple bars and rooms inside. Ladies toilets have an insane wait time. Can take up to 45 mins to get a drink. Saturdays can be a little hectic and packed full of regular weekend club goers, whereas Fridays are a little more intimate. Drinks aren't great but acceptable for a nightclub, prices ok, bartenders are the best and work magic with what they've got. If you are sensitive to high levels of sugar make sure you tell them no extra syrup. Not sure why they put that in everything but I almost passed out from the sugar rush.

Always fun and forever weird, I love the decor and the people running the place keep it ship shape. That can be a good or bad thing depending how you look at it but I honestly appreciate how strict they are for safety reasons. Sometimes it can be kinda annoying like when my friend who doesn't even drink tripped down the stairs in platforms and they booted her but I get why they do it.

I am non binary lesbian dolphin and there aren't restrooms for dolphins. It's not inclusion. I think this place needs more diversity with dolphins , specially non binary dolphins. I left the place so sad because humans are so selfish and they don't care about trans dolphins ( I was a human 3 years ago). They even don't have food or drinks for dolphins. Absurd. If you guys build a restroom for dolphins I will give you 5 stars. Have some kind of empathy. Pride dolphins!

Be careful, my friend and I wound up in the ER last night after being drugged here. Got the toxicology report back and someone slipped us PCP. We were able make it home and call an ambulance, the emts told us that they get a lot of calls about women being drugged here and that it isn’t safe. One of the most terrifying experiences of my life. First and last time coming here, sorry to the owners, but maybe search people when they come in to try to stop this from happening again?

Love this club! World famous! Went as soon as I was 18 and I am now 44. Best atmosphere and DJs. A place where there is no judgment and you do you. There’s no other club like it. Plus, I met my husband there and we got married in front of the club on July 13, 2020. The Covid pandemic did not allow us to get married inside like we desired. But we will renew our bowls INSIDE on our anniversary in the future 💖. Thank you Castle staff, we love you.

Absolutely love this place. Both times I went I had an amazing time with my friends and we all loved it. Cheap drinks was definitely a plus. The inside looks fabulous and it's just an overall awesome vibe they got going on.

The Castle is usually a fun place and the music and vibe are great. However, the bartender that was upstairs last Saturday (older, heavier set white guy, white beard) is EXTREMELY rude! Avoid him at all costs!

Greatest vibes, coolest people, solid prices, wildest nights. The dancefloor upstairs is top tier, I danced until the lights came on. Always something fantastic to see, great music, the atmosphere is unbeatable. The Castle rules. I love this place.

Only the shell remains. Castle used to be a place where you went because you felt safe and had a blast. Unfortunately, the new clientele is mostly 18-19 year olds with no self respect, no respect for you or the club. Two guys peed on the wall in plain view while we were in line to get in and the dance floor becomes a mosh pit as these kids jump, don't dance, with no regard for the people around them. While dancing at a crowded club has always produced some bumping it's always been you excuse yourself and keep having fun that's no longer the case. These kids come in drunk and high so they have no awareness of what they're doing and are rude as hell if you let them know they pushed you or stepped on you. The security staff is either ill equipped to handle the new crowd or just don't care. Years ago all that shoving and drink spilling on the dance floor was never tolerated neither was taking pictures or filming without consent. Alan, I completely undertstand you are trying to stay afloat but is this really the direction you want the club to go?

The female bouncer from 10/15/23 12:00am was extremely disrespectful. English it’s not my first language and I tried to follow her indications, but she had a nasty attitude. The guy cashier on the other hand was very kind and respectful, how everyone should be. We were celebrating my upcoming birthday, so I wish it was a better experience.

Greatest nightclub in Florida! I've been coming here for the past 18 years and can't stop. It's the only club I want to come to. Everything about it is the best I've ever been to and will continue to attend weekly.

Went last night for my friends bday. When my friends & I got to go inside to pay, the lady charged me $17 even though I told her I am 21 and I had the wristband on too. She charged my other 2 friends $17 & $15 because one of them was 20 and the other was 21. I didn’t understand why she still charged me an extra $2. I told her I am 21 after I noticed she overcharged me, she still didn’t give me the $2 she took. Whatever but it was still rude as a first impression coming to this club for the first time.

Had a great time here! Drinks are fairly priced. The music was amazing and the crowd was good. No pushing or overly aggressive people.

Great vibes, can be a lot to take in at first but it was fun and everyone is pretty nice. The bouncers were kinda off but they’re bouncers that’s their job. The bar staff on the second floor don’t get paid enough for the amount of work they do, absolute troopers!

A good warmup for clubs like Berghain in Berlin, Germany. A taste of what's possible if you're open-minded. It's not meant to be for everyone, and that's what makes it great.

A fantastic place to visit if you are interested in night life. The entry to get in is $10 per person over 21, and the drinks tend to range around the same price but they give you a lot of alcohol for what you pay for. The atmosphere is electric and unlike anything else I've ever experienced. The crowd tends to be people that are more open minded, as it caters to those who are not traditional by any means of the word. Guaranteed if you come here with friends, you'll be having a blast. Just make sure to pregame.

I'm a old fixture there since the 90s, good place not for typical normies, everything/thing is welcome, but be polite, it also is a safe place, if meatheads are bugging you tell the staff. Look just because the bartender doesn't get your spritzer that second doesn't make them bad, be patient. All in all the best underground club in the USA....and my home.

this nightclub filled my lil goth heart with so much joy! the ambience was really hype and super respectful. the music was amazing and the people as well. i will say, the drinks aren't that strong so maybe pre-gaming would be ideal if you're trying to feel a quicker buzz, or the drinks are perfect if you want to feel a light buzz. me and my lil group danced so much and we all agree that we felt safe as well just being around, which is really important to us as queer folks. fully recommend the experience ✨

A must see place if your looking for nightlife in Tampa. Went night before Halloween and it was a blast. I personally think it’s one of best night clubs in the area

One of the best clubs in the country hands down!!! Complete and utter freedom to be yourself, whatever that may be. The gothic architecture and dark, sexy vibes are chef’s kiss - what a great place to come dance and sweat. Celebrating my 30th bday during the July 4 weekend party was next level, and I will definitely be coming back as long as this club exists. Music/vibes/aesthetics on point. Location/venue on point. 10/10 would recommend.

I love the Castle, its always a fun place. However every single time I go there, the upstairs bar tending staff have the worst attitude. It's consistently the same 3 bartenders that have a vendetta to the world, and EVERY SINGLE patron there shares the same opinion. If i was the owner, I would find bar staff that are happy to come into work and represent my brand. It's poor attitude, poor service, as if we the consumer paying money, are inconveniencing them. We didn't choose your job, you did. So please take into consideration that the rest of us pay a cover to come enjoy, and pay you money for beverages.

The castle is one of the oldest buildings in Tampa so i have been told. It's a must visit Because of the special vibe that it has. The bartender is always busy but was very courteous and kept track of who came first. Very busy place and the people are coming and going. The music i cannot tell if it is Metallica/ techno mix with light and dark alternating. Ppl visiting the plane dress as they wish and most of them are in Halloween spirit :) Must try at least once if you visit Tampa. Entry fee was 10 dollars and upstairs there is an area where you can go in and get whipped or whip your own friends. That is something!!!!! Highly recommend

The setup of the club is cool. The music is good. The staff are horrifically rude and unprofessional: One seemingly drunken bartender cussed me out and demanded that I leave after I didn't tip him for a can of apple cider. Another time, I was rejected at the door because the women who checked my ID ( I am 21 and it's a real Maryland ID) said the photo looked blurry. It is illegal for businesses to claim a real ID is fake. They need to train their staff how to check IDs from other states. When I tried to tell her the ID was in fact real, the security shoved me out of the line and told me to "get out of here". What is this treatment????

I love this place but the girl that flogged me scarred my skin and deeply bruised me. She clearly didn’t know what she was doing and should be given another position. I was not impressed.

Before my friends told me about The Castle, I had never been to a club and had no genuine interest in going to one. Normally, I'm more reserved and dislike crowds, but with the help of my friends and a few drinks, I immediately felt at home! Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I can't wait until my next my next visit! All the staff and individuals I met were very friendly!

The Castle is our favorite place for a fun night out. Tons of cool people and reasonable drink prices. Staff is AMAZING. Shout out to the security staff for literally lifting my wife upstairs in her wheelchair so we could experience the second floor together without fear of someone tripping me up the stairs. The first time I carried her up the stairs myself and our friends carried her chair. It wasn't as busy that night, but on Halloween it was crowded on the stairs. They immediately let me know at the door that they would lift the chair for me and even offered to bring us BACK up the stairs at another time. Thank you so much for the experience and a memory that will last forever. If the Castle gets more wheel chair users (which they totally should) I think we could advocate for an elevator/lift to be built so that disabled people can party easily and safely ❤️

SPOOKY~ drinks are no joke, usually 10 to get in, and they play hard EDM music. there's usually someone running a spanking cage (free!) upstairs, there's 3 DJ spots and also something like 5 bars (???) very fun

I was able to get to see the endless night event and it was an amazing experience. They played du haust by rammstein and one of my favorite songs of all time "everything you touch" by ladytron. The staff was really good and the dancers were the best. I wish we had more of this in polk county Florida.

You're missing out if you've never been to the castle! A diverse crowd. Plenty of bars and places to hang out on three levels. Awesome DJs and everyone is accepted.

Visited The Castle Club in Ybor dressed as Michael Myers. It was a fun night with friends. I have photos of the flogging station and dancing. It is a fun club and was nice for Halloween. I also have some photos of the decorations there.

This place is always an absolute blast! Everyone that works here is incredibly friendly, the crowd is fun and interesting, the drinks are fantastic, and the atmosphere is unlike anything I've seen before. A truly unique place.
