😠 One of the worst dinners we’ve had in a while. So many things went south. After being told the only available seating was outside (it was a cold night), we expressed we did not mind waiting. We were seated immediately. Weird but we were happy to sit and enjoy each other as there was only two of us.... People often mention good, great, brisket, service, chicken, smoked, pork, nice, grits, time,

One of the worst dinners we’ve had in a while. So many things went south. After being told the only available seating was outside (it was a cold night), we expressed we did not mind waiting. We were seated immediately. Weird but we were happy to sit and enjoy each other as there was only two of us. Cocktails arrived fast and tasted great. Ordered a sprit after waiting about 45 min for our order. Sprite was all carbonation, they replaced the drink and fix the Sprite, no big deal. Couple minutes later our food arrived, wife ordered a chicken sandwich and after a couple bites she realized it was raw, no joke 100% raw, not cooked, still bleeding, maybe sat down on a hot surface for a minute or so! We told the wait staff, she took the plate and offered a replacement and we politely declined. The manager arrived after a bit and said something to the effect, ya I saw it, it was raw and that he will be removing it from our bill. So naturally I’m suspicious now. I ordered the three meat with smoked chicken and the freaking chicken was raw! Not smoked properly with an obvious marble discoloration. Blood was still oozing from the bone. Totally disgusted at this point and did not finish either meal.

Mojo Federal is one of our favorite places for dinner or lunch. Burned Ends are deeeelicious when available. Their salads are good, brisket is too. Everything we had tonight was delicious. Service was nice and to the point. Overall, it was a good experience, like always! I definitely recommend this place!

This is one of those sad times where I don’t understand the big deal about this place. Even before I visited Mojo Fed the first time and still now so many people I talk to just rave about the place. But man, I just really don’t get it. I feel like I’m the outlier of an inside joke. My first time at the Fed I had big expectations after hearing so much. And I wasn’t super impressed so I didn’t know if it was just a spoof, because that does happen. So later on I gave it another chance. And again, the food was just average to me. Come again a third time, not by my choice but that my party had never been there and wanted to try, and we all left clearly deciding we wouldn’t go back. I’ve tried different dishes here too- brisket, pulled pork, shrimp and grits, and none of it was bad, by any means. The shrimp and grits are super heavy and don’t mix well. The pork is very dry when I’ve had it, and even the jalapeño corn bread is dry and way too spicy so you’re lacking your lips badly. Everything has been average at best and not worth spending the money when Lakeland really does have a lot of other great options. Even just the presentation of the food is lackluster- on ugly dark blue splattered plastic plates and bowls. One positive is I do think the fried pickle app is pretty good, and comes with a nice sauce. My other complaint with Mojo Fed is how insanely loud it is. The building is super cool- including “federal” in the name is so spot on because the building feels like an old government (maybe it actually is?) building that’s very stately feeling, which is why I wish so badly I were more taken with the food. But, even though the place feels grand, it’s really just one giant room, so when even a few parties start to come in, the noise level is tremendous. I’m saying- I can’t even hear the person 2 seats down from me speaking at a moderately loud level. It’s so loud it’s hardly enjoyable. Mojo Fed is very sadly one of those places I want to be better than it is. It’s not a terrible option but when you’re in downtown Lkld you can walk the block to a dozen other options that are better, and I myself will for sure be walking right past the Fed from now on. Sad face.

Outdoor dining is open again finally!! Outstanding........from the moment you open the doors. That longed for smell of BBQ hits you, your already indulging in perfectly smoked meats. Pictured are the Chicken(5), Pulled Pork(5) and Brisket(4). Brisket appeared and was a bit dry for a flat however, slightly overcooked as it completely fell apart and the flat muscle should have a slight pull to it, the flavor though was excellent. The Mac n Cheese(4) was everything you want in it from a smokehouse and that Onion Ring plate(5) will not be forgotten any time soon, it was exquisite as was the Corn Bread(5). French Fries(5) were on definitely on point, the Cole Slaw(3) was very basic and that's a big disappointment for me as I love a great Cole Slaw. Will definitely return sooner than later, need those burnt ends in my life and will order some "wet brisket" which should be part point and part flat.

Old school atmosphere. Great service. Very good cocktails. High quality food. Several large groups being served when we arrived. Everyone seemed happy. Background music at a perfect level. A couple of plates and glasses seemed to have residue on them. Door frame near our table could use a good cleaning.

Loved the food and atmosphere. Our server was great. Had the stew, mac n cheese and collards. Everything was fresh and delicious. Can’t wait to go back. Well worth a drive from Orlando.

Great service. The decor is on point. Masculine. I got pulled pork, collard greens, and garlic, cheese, grits. The grits and pork were my favorite part. For apps we had chicken nachos and pork quesadillas. So good!

What a great food destination! We had the mojo club, beef brisket sandwiches and a bunch of sides. Wonderful flavor on all the meats. Good sized portions. Great atmosphere. Everything was spot on and DELICIOUS. Loren was our server. Located in Lakeland at 130 S. Tennessee.. in an old building in a cute downtown area. All around a positive experience

Party of 4 ordered all different things and everyone was in awe of how delicious everything was. I had the quesadillas, out of this world! All very generous portions. 8/15/22 update: Great experience again, St Louis ribs and burnt ends are delicious as well. Great whiskey and beer selection! We enjoyed the conversation with our waiter Nathan, fun times!

Atmosphere was great, feels like one of those first date type of places (a little dark). You walk in and it has this nice smell of smoked food. I really wanted to like this place but it first let me down with the poor service(slow). They give you that vibe that they have already judged and measured you by your appearance or whatever they do, assuming that we are poor tippers or what not( I always tip well even with bad service) or maybe he just had a bigger table, who knows. It was not welcoming at all. Now for the food…. I had no smoke flavor on any of it which was a disappointment. My guests ordered a pulled pork sandwich she said it was a Sonny’s level sandwich . The BBQ bacon burger had the skinniest piece of bacon I’ve ever seen and just a dab of BBQ sauce total disappointment and the Shrimp and grits were tasty but the grits were mushy(old looking)like they sat around too long. Being in the south a lot of restaurants fail at grits, so I’m use to this. It is a high bar to reach. Pros: The fries and sweet potato mash are both really good. Also the burger serving itself was a good size amount. The host at the front was very nice when we were leaving. I’m just leaving my personal opinion, it might’ve been a bad day for them. I feel they are $2-$4s over priced per plate for what’s served. Thank you!

Amazing service! We had a private party on the patio. 36 people attended the event. Our waiter did an awesome job taking care of all of our guests. The food was good. Try the macaroni and cheese- so good! The BBQ pulled pork and chicken was delicious. The copped beef was my personal favorite. The guys in my team said the sliced brisket was the best. The ultimate best was the banana pudding.

Our meal and service were good. What we ordered was a choice of (3) three meats with (2) two sides which were smoked Turkey, smoked chicken and smoked beef brisket. Buttermilk chicken breast with (2) sides. The small cup of chili (beef brisket) had no beans and has a good kick to it. Fried shrimp (tossed with sauce) as our appetizer, we decided to have the sauce on the side. I couldn’t help to notice the chairs had left over food crumbs and I saw that as we were about to be seated. I cleaned it off myself. If I saw it, whom ever cleared the table prior saw it . It’s a minor thing but hopefully it’s corrected going forward.

This place has always appealed to me, but I had never been. My friend and I decided to go for dinner on a Monday. Upon entering, the interior is very rustic and casual. I thought the vibe was chill. We ordered onion rings as our appetizer, to which we do not recommend it. They looked like they would taste good, but they did not. Onions were too thick inside, and the fried batter was practically seasoning-less. I ended up ordering the brisket sandwich with a side of Mac n cheese. The brisket was dry and gristle-ly and I have had much better. The homemade bbq sauces they offered were good, though. My Mac n cheese was great. My friend did not like her sandwich either. I ordered the white wine sangria, which was one of the best cocktails I've ever had. It was so sweet and tasty. Overall, the prices are a little high, so I wish some of the food tasted better. I don't think I'll be back for dinner, but instead, I'll be back for drinks.

This is a really cool, chill restaurant. We're from Texas and are spoiled when it comes to BBQ. But we were blown away right off the bat when we tasted the burnt ends appetizer. It was juicy, tender, and had a nice bark...and the portion size was HUGE! My smoked chicken was tender and moist with a nice smoke flavor. My husband loved his pulled pork. All the side dishes were on point. We will definitely be back!

Very good restaurant, the meat was outstanding. Shrimp and grits were ok, grits was under seasoned, jalapeno cornbread was very dry. Good size portions and great atmosphere. Parking was a bit of a pain ,use their valet parking.

In town visiting friends and family so I wanted a local place to try. Service was outstanding. I would consider myself a bit of an onion ring snob. Highly recommend them, perfect blend of savory and sweet. Smothered chicken was perfectly cooked, not overcooked which tends to happen when you order it smothered. Jalapeño cornbread had just the right amount of jalapeño. Mac n cheese was very creamy and cheesy. Cocktails were strong, which is not a bad thing. Will definitely be a returning customer.

We each had the 2 meat plate, one with brisket and one with turkey, and spare ribs. The sides of collard greens, cole slaw and beans were all great. We also had the Frito Pie that was really fun and good. The banana pudding was stellar, so was the Odd Couple cocktail. Our server, Derek, was very helpful and nice. The building is ready neat too.

When you first walk in you can smell the amazing smoky smell and we were seated by a gentleman right away. We chose outside because it was a beautiful day, the server was very nice and attentive we never felt like we were even waiting. We got the 2 meats with ribs and chicken with fries and Mac N cheese. It was delicious! The sauces are homemade, even the ranch and they are packed with flavor! I can't wait to come back and try the catfish and banana pudding! Thank you for such awesome service it really makes for such an amazing time spending money I shouldn't be :)

While visiting friends in Lakeland they suggested going to MOJO FEDERAL. I had never been there before. It was a Tuesday around 1:30 in the afternoon so the resturant was relatively empty from the lunch crowd. The waitstaff was great, Josh was his name. The atmosphere was nice. I loved the decor of the inside and the way that they incorporated the old original brick of the building and didn't cover everything up with drywall and paint. But what abou the food? It was wonderful We were a party of four and all the food came out at the same time. It was hot and tasty and we don't have any complaints what so ever. One person in our party is Gluton free and MOJO had a menu that could accommodate this person and thier food was wonderful as well. The prices aren't too high, and they aren't too low, but the portions are well more than what you pay for and we were all stuffed at the end of the meal. This is an establishment that we would definately go back to when we are in the area.

Very inviting atmosphere when you first walk into Mojo Federal. There was hardly any wait to get seated. The service was excellent. The famous onion rings are a must do when ordering.

We were told by a few people that this was the best place on the main drag for a good meal. The building was really fun but the music was loud and obnoxious to say the least. Service was very good however our drinks came at the same time as our appetizers. My old fashioned was fantastic and I had it made with the house bourbon. The food was great, the pulled pork and brisket were smoked to perfection. The smoked wings were probably some of the best wings I've ever had. All in all I recommend this BBQ joint 😋

Delicious food, we were a party of 10 and tried a variety of appetizers and entrees, including the pulled pork shoulder, the brisket, fried pickles, loaded nachos, brisket tips, and more, and all of the food was full of flavor, authenticity, and the sauces were bomb. Also, great atmosphere on the patio outside where we sat, we were laughing and a little loud but didn't feel like we were bothering anyone around because we still had privacy. Walking through the indoor seating and bar area had a cool vibe, great music, also. Our server was friendly and helpful, too. Highly recommend!

I’ve been to this restaurant at least 3 times. The first time we ate inside at the bar and it was a good experience… years ago. More recently, the experiences were incomparable. I came inside to order my food to go. The staff were not welcoming at all & the burnt ends were literally inedible. We advised staff & they replaced the order with another set of inedible burnt ends. The first order was literally fat & you couldn’t even pull the meat apart… in this picture which was the second order it was again, fatty & tough. I wish the manager had the decency to ensure that the food was prepared correctly before dishing it out.

Disappointment from every angle. Collard greens were nothing but tough stems with no flavor. Grits had the look & texture of oatmeal. Texas toast was lame thin white bread. Table top bbq sauces were oh so runnnnnny. Ice tea (unsweet) had no flavor. And the brisket... dry as a bone. Members of our party even turned away the bread pudding (the only dessert on their menu) after tasting it. Others were put off by its look. It was cooler temperature outside than inside. Bathrooms were disgusting... trash hadn't been removed and was on the floor around every trash can and it was early dinnertime. And one of the sinks was backed up. Definitely will NOT be back.

We've been several times before but this visit was just okay and it's unfortunate because we brought an out of town guest with us. The service was just OK. Didn't check on us. There was no music overhead, the food was overcooked and dry. We were disappointed.

Not my cup of tea. Friendly service by waitress. Brisket was very dry. My drink was not good even though it looked good was able to exchange it out.

👍👍 The atmosphere is awesome. High energy and plenty of visual items to take in. What's even better is the food. The "Estate" burger was one of the best burgers I've ever had. My Everything came very fast and hot. Well timed by the team!! My son especially loved the onion rings. Be carefull though,...
