👍👍 Love coming here to hike. Went just over 12 miles today. The whole time you can watch the skydivers from across route 39. Today I saw 3 deer, 2 turkeys, and a couple black snakes. Gorgeous preserve with well-maintained and well-marked trails through a nice diversity of ecosystems from flatwood scrub to wet prairie to cypress dome to hardwood hammock and riparian wetland. Great for dog walking, wildlife viewing, and botanizing.

Very quiet and peaceful place, I don’t think we saw a single other person the whole time we were there. Trails are nice and wide, the scrub is beautiful. Not as many birds as on some other trails but lots of cool plants.

The trail is wide which is nice, but not much to look at. Only the creek and the swamp area at the beginning. Better trail markers would be nice to have... It does have plenty of parking and free which is good, also that it's peaceful. Only saw one other group.

The people saying this is a bland field are hilarious (is it the same as hiking North FL or beyond? Heck no, but this is Central FL! It's flat, big surprise lmao), obviously trying to keep this a secret or way too high expectations. Bit of a hike to the creek, but well worth it imo

Not very impressed with this park. The reviews said you will often see deer early in the morning but I did not see any. The trails were also not in good condition and even though it says it is Blackwater Creek Preserve, you only get once tiny view of the creek, most of the trails are just through fields. It is not very interesting. There are other parks not far from here that are pretty and better for hiking

This place preserves the native ecosystem of Florida - longleaf pines with an understory of saw palm and wiregrass prairies. It makes you imagine how Florida would have been before 1600s, with recurrent lightning fires shaping this ecosystem. There's a beautiful creek midway in the trail and the sunsets are amazing in the prairies. Thoroughly enjoyed my hike here.

What a beautiful park to walk around! We were not fully prepared for the areas of swampy or standing water on the paths but that's on us. Trails nicely marked. Signage from the main road could be improved. Will highly recommend!

Quiet trail, flat, a little muddy. Trails are well marked. Classic Florida shrub habitat with long leaf pines and palmettos. Mostly sunny with some areas to rest in shade.

Lovely peaceful preserve! Scenic creek at North end, 2+ miles from start. If trails are wet, you will see so soon because beginning of trail is lower. Parking lot is at end of small road and safe. No built facilities nor potty. Be aware of your path because there are many "shortcuts".

This trail was beautiful. Bring bug spray, lots of bugs by the river. Trail was flooded in places, you’d have to walk in an inch or two of water in some places or turn around. Bring hiking shoes or water proof shoes and you should be fine.

Love coming here… reminds me of the Florida I knew growing up. Not the Florida that surrounds this paradise. It can be pretty swampy some of the time, but if you know to expect it you can make it through the trails just fine. Also bring sunscreen and bug spray.

Just don’t visit during hot or rainy season, there’s lots of full sun exposure and it can get pretty muddy if it’s rained. But on a cool winter day it’s a wonderful hike- we loved it! It’s a little under 5 miles if you do the red loop.

We had a great time, lots of water on the trails just like the sign reads. Bring water shoes or plan your hike accordingly. Beautiful, peaceful, relaxing.

Very nice place to go hiking. My only complaint is not enough trash bins in random spots to discard pet baggies but will return again!
