👍👍 We put in our kayaks here and floated down to Morris Bridge Park on Nov. 9. This is an extremely easy 4.5 mile float. We had a strong current, so we didn't actually have to paddle, except to steer. I didn't use any bug repellent and not one bug bit. We didn't even see any biting insects. Water bird... Amazing and beautiful park to take a stroll around the lake. The restrooms are clean and parking is very easy. The hiking is very easy around the lake with the broad-walk around the lake. It is a great place for canoeing or kayaking where there are different boats. Lots of wildlife and gators to see around. There are different campgrounds to camp. Beautiful park to visit.

We put in our kayaks here and floated down to Morris Bridge Park on Nov. 9. This is an extremely easy 4.5 mile float. We had a strong current, so we didn't actually have to paddle, except to steer. I didn't use any bug repellent and not one bug bit. We didn't even see any biting insects. Water birds were abundant, especially anhinga and white ibis. We saw many other water birds, but I don't know their names. One looked like a green heron, but I'm not certain. We saw about 11 gators, most of them 4-5 feet long. We saw a couple otters playing on a big log about 30' off the main water course, and we didn't try to paddle closer. The river was silent, except for occasional squawks from the large water birds. The otters made a few play-fight sounds. a bit like dogs playing. This was the most peaceful time I've experienced in a long time. It could not have been any better. Both parks had nice clean restrooms. There was a $2 fee to park at each park. We hadn't brought cash and were happy that the machine took credit cards. There were picnic tables at both parks too.

It's a very beautiful park, as well as a good entrance onto the Old Fort King Trail. However, the side trails besides the boardwalk are slightly harder to walk on than others in the area. I almost tripped multiple times on the uneven ground and roots. Put a caution sign or something like a warning. The Old Fort King Trail also has little/no benches, so be careful on how far you go. I went forward for about 2.5 miles and was dying on the way back from the lack of rest points.

Thank you for having a boat wash station! The paddle was fun and easy. So much nature to enjoy! Certainly a great choice for beginner to advanced paddlers. The boat launch area was convenient. Bathrooms were super clean (love that you have automatic soap)!

Our two person trip, A four and a half hour trip kayaking from Sergeant's Park to trout Creek was quite an adventure. A lot of obstacles to overcome and one area we had to get out of the kayak and push it under a log and get back in. Very good flow even though the water was quite low the first of March. Several 10 to yes 14' Gators. Most Small but still got our attention. Beautiful birds and river changed from wide to almost creek like. It's an adventure just be prepared to go with the flow.

Cool park, small boardwalk, canoe, kayak and boat launch. $2 parking fee if just walking. $7 if using launch area. One large open pavilion and several other picnic tables. Peaceful and quiet.

What a great place to visit on a rainy day! Taking our time on the shorter trails out to the water and through the woods was delightful! Lots of neat little animals and beautiful Florida scenery. The bathrooms were very clean and well managed and the boat ramp was nice. There also seems to be a longer, paved trail that's about 13 miles, but we weren't quite up to that long of a hike! Would highly recommend a visit if you're in the area, or want to kayak/canoe the Hillsborough river!

Another great park to visit for a ride with your bike 🚴. Be aware that part of the trail from old fort king trail to dead river rd is flooded but nothing to bad that my hart tail couldn’t handle….actually was fun. The way to dead river park is dried. Parts of this entire trail are really awesome, big oaks, swamp jungle looking etc. Note: from John B sargeant sr. Park to old fort take the blue trail which is very nice. Careful crossing 301 though.

Two boat ramps one cement and one shell and wood. At the time of this review the cement ramp has a very low water level and would not be suitable to launch a boat brought by trailer. The park has maybe 25 parking spaces with another 8 for vehicles with bait trailers. There is a nice bathroom facility with a cover porch. A floating dock and a short board walk leading to a small pier overlooking the Hillsborough River. It is $2 dollars to park and launching canoes and kayaks is included in the parking fee.

Beautiful park and river access. Nice board through the swap. Kayak launch is very accessible. Pay to park at machine, with credit card. $2.00 per car. Add $5.00 if launching boat, using ramp. Always alligator on the river. Lots of aviary life.

Incredible access to two of Hillsborough County's historical ways of passage, for only $2.00!! This park offers opportunity to walk (or ride) in the footsteps of Florida pioneers on The Old Fort Trail. Or if you prefer paddle on waters first forged by Native Americans on the Hillsborough River. There is also areas for picnics and BBQ grills. A nice boardwalk will lead you to views of the Hillsborough River where you may see some interesting wildlife.

I used to take my children there when they were small and now I think my grandchildren and my great-grandchildren! We saw a good looking alligator last time we were out there and those ones that live across the water on the right hand side are still there for their relatives are!

Small little park, great for canoeing or kayaking but still provides a nice little boardwalk/trail to walk around the lake. Lots of gators & wildlife to be seen. worth checking out! :)
