I went in there right at 5PM on 10/13/21. Even though there wasn't enough ppl RIGHT AT 5pm (when they open) to fill an entire hibachi table, they quickly brought out our sides and started the show. We had the whole station to ourselves. Sam was an amazing chef. He entertained us with awesome skills and great conversation. He immediately seemed like a friend instead of a cook. Mr. Mateo was our server and was timely and polite with any of our requests. At the end of the meal, they all came out and wished me a happy birthday in American style then Japanese style. It was just an amazing experience, not just a dinner. We will definitely go back again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, delicious, and large portioned freshly created meal.

This was the worst experience ever . Food was not seasoned properly he only applied garlic butter and Teriyaki sauce I gave them 2 stars because of the drinks this should have been a bar and not a restaurant We requested seasoning for our food several times the chef looked as though he could not be bothered with our request. After spending a $100 (1 person) for that meal I feel like l left my change of $85 . This was a first and a last for me

I absolutely love this place, the chefs here are very funny. The restaurant creates a nice family atmosphere and it’s wonderful, and the food is delicious. They fill your plate to the max! You will be going home with a bag in hand, just a head up!

It's been a long time since we found a good Japanese Teppanyaki house. This restaurant isn't just good, it is fantastic! Danny was our attentive server. Sam was our chef. I ordered an extra fried rice right as Sam started cooking the rice, Danny immediately went to get additional serving of rice to be cooked with the rest. I had the filet and it was cooked to the perfect temperature and the cut was one of the best cuts of filet I've ever had. Another note Sam asked if anyone had allergies and the young lady in the other party said she had a shrimp allergy and her husband ordered shrimp. Sam was very particular to cook the shrimp last, completely separate from her food. Meshiagare (Bon appetit)!!!

On the pricey side however, you do get a show and your food cooked right in front of you. I had the chicken and steak. Both were cooked perfectly. In the past while cooking the cook tossed food and squirt wine into your mouth, maybe a little longer of a show. Covid said no more. Plan ahead and make a reservation. The table seats about 10 if you squeeze in and you will sit with other people unless you bring a party with you.

Lamb was our cook tonight he was super nice and funny, Food was GREAT , But You definitely want to make sure to bring about $100 for 2 people. (Side Note) There special Duo Meal Deal is 9pm till close. We were Seated at 8:45pm and were told to order what we wanted right away, We couldn't wait 15 min to get the Dinner Deal, So make sure if you want that Duo Meal deal to Reserve a table at 9pm or later (We Reserved for 8:30 pm, Started sitting late because we had to wait for I Table to be cleaned ) (Also our cook came out with our food at 9:00pm)

By far the worst Kobe based on service. Can’t rate the food because after being seated over a half hour AFTER our reservation we waited at the table for 15 minutes and still no one had even taken a drink order. At that point we walked out because it did not seem like the service was going to improve. We generally love Kobe restaurants and have been to many. We won’t return to this one.

My partner and I came here for an impromptu date night and we are so glad we did! Our chef Shaun was amazingly funny, kind, and extremely talented! Shaun's food was the best hibachi that we have had in ages! The atmosphere was very sophisticated and elegant for a nice night out.

Chef Ichiban was unbelievably amazing! He is a master chef and excellent entertainer. We were lucky enough to have him cook for us. The service was really good and efficient. We are so happy Kobe’s is finally open, we can’t wait to go back.

My family came here to celebrate my twins' birthday. Mr nice guy was the chef... He was fun and did an absolutely perfect job! I appreciated how he used different utensils for the chicken and other food. Carlos was attentive and fun too! Javier was personable and attentive as well! Delightful experience. I was also very happy that they had a vegan option and kept it separate from the non vegan food. Very nice.

It's opening week for the New Tampa Kobe and so I wasn't expecting the perfect service that we have been getting from over 30 years at Altamonte. We got it! The Server Tiffany was extremely pleasant and considerate of guests requests. Our chef Shawn came from Brandon and was exemplary. He cooked everything perfectly and was extremely talented, funny and entertaining. He admittedly went over the top and it was especially great for the first-timers at our table. There were a few hiccups but they went overboard to make sure we were satisfied and we were. So much food to go home! Great job Kobe New Tampa!!!!

Our chef Ichiban was AMAZING! Made our experience incredible. Not only was his show super elaborate but he handled our large group with such humor and grace! We LOVE ichiban long time, highly recommend as long as he is your cook.

My partner and I came here for a date night on a Saturday evening. The wait time was minimal which was surprising given the time of day. We were initially seated with a large party of 6 at group seating but asked for a private booth and were accommodated immediately which I thought was very nice. Our waiter was excellent; he was very attentive to our needs, had a lot of patience, and gave us the perfect balance of attention and space to enjoy ourselves. Overall the food was excellent!! Large portions, cooked perfectly, and very authentic. Our overall experience was delightful and I would recommend the new location on Bruce B Downs to anyone. I look forward to visiting again. Job well done Kobe!!

Head Chef Ichiban was very charismatic and humble. His jokes and magic tricks were just as good as the food he made. Phenomenal chef! He cooked everything for our table’s orders and did so with a smile! Our waitress Alysa was also very attentive to our drinks and kept filling up our waters.

Newly renovated place looks good. It took some time for our chef to come to the grill. I ordered the steak and shrimp. There was no seasoning on thr steak. Only saving grace was the white sauce they provided. I'm happy I came out to experience Kobe but I don't think I'll return unless somebody in the group has a birthday.

I came here for first time… to celebrate my birthday. Was amazing food, good treatment. A huge shot out for our server Javier, our chef Randy, Miguel and Jasmin from the bar. Excellent attention guys!!! Highly recommended, also go with empty stomach is a lot of food.

Visited Kobe Steakhouse in New Tampa and had an incredible experience! Our server, Tuan, was truly amazing—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. The food was delicious, and I highly recommend trying the Kobe Trio; it's enough for two and absolutely worth it. Great ambiance and fantastic service overall🤩

We started the evening at the bar, while we waited for our table. I would recommend the Kobé Japanese Lager. The only downfall at the bar was the smell, there was a horrendous smell (honestly smelt like sewer).. Next we sat for hibachi. Service was alright (not a huge fan that they already have 18% gratuity already included). Mostly since a few of our times were messed up, but nothing was done... As for the "show," honestly the worst most boring hibachi show I've personally been too. There was no true excitement from the chef or anyone else. As the remainder of the food is all cooked and I started eating. The chicken marinade was completely full of pepper - that's all I could taste. The filet mignon had over a tablespoon of garlic. I love garlic as much as the next, but it was a bit much. This is my first time at this Kobé (third Kobé overall) and sadly I won't be back.

I’ve been waiting for Kobe in New Tampa to open for a while. Finally got to try it on a Saturday night. Reservation was 5:30 and there was about a 5 minute wait to be seated. Once we were seated, the power went out. Emergency power was on but only lighted emergency lights. We couldn’t order drinks or anything food due to this. We were given water. Nicki was very nice and helpful and you can tell she really didn’t know what to do as there was nothing to do but wait. Staff worked very hard to accommodate guests during this time as well as try to figure out what the issue was and get the electricity back on. 20 minutes or so went by until the power finally came back on, at the exact moment the other party at our table was getting up to leave but they stayed. Randy was our chef. Great chef. Nice presentation. Onion soup was surprisingly flavorful. Salad was good. Rice, veggies, and noodles were all huge portions. So much so, I didn’t know where any of the proteins would go. Dad had the trio, lobster, scallops and shrimp. All delicious and he rated it a 4. Mom had filet and lobster which she said was good except two small issues. Her lobster was chewy and she wouldn’t order lobster again and the steak pieces were too big and no knife was provided. Otherwise she enjoyed her meal and gave it a 4. I had filet and shrimp it was exceptionally good. I give my food a 5. However my mom did note one thing that I also agree with, the protein portions were small in comparison to everything else and for the price. The restaurant did comp us a nice amount on our check due to the power outage and delay which was nice but they add 18% gratuity on every check no matter the size of your party and still expect a tip on the bill plus we tipped the chef which has always been customary at any hibachi restaurant I’ve been to. I wish this review was 5 stars but I had to give it the 4 strictly because of the delay with no electricity and for protein portion size. I will 100% return to this location and can’t wait to do so. The food was delicious!

Shout out to Kobe’s playboy Mr. Nice Guy!!! He definitely made my dining experience way better this time. I’ve visited previous Kobe restaurants and left very disappointed. I love Kobe, we always get the same thing: side of fried rice and side of noodles to go; this is the first time we go to this location and I have never seen a side of rice so small lol, like cmon…

Always an AMAZING time and dining experience! For many years I have celebrate my birthday at Kobe. Last year during the height of the pandemic we weren't able to eat in so we ordered to go. It was not the same. So happy to be able to dine in with my friends and family again. Mr. Nice Guy is the Best! He is very funny and truly a nice guy! He always goes above and beyond to entertain you during your meal and loves making birthday's special. He spelled out my name and 40 in rice. I have been lucky enough to have him cook for me many times over the years! Thanks Mr. Nice Guy!

It's nice and clean and the staff is courteous. Easily accessible from Bruce B Downs. Our chef was entertaining and the food tasted alright. The price per person roughly comes out to $25 per person including tips. However, the food did upset my stomach soon after i was done. So i had to rush home to take care of it. Not quite sure what it was.

The restaurant provides AMAZING food and service. Our chef Ichiban was not only super professional but super friendly, kind, funny, and truly knows his craft. He cooked amazing food and gave an equally amazing show to go with it. Highly recommend and wish Ichiban the best.

My first time dining at this restaurant. We had the pleasure of having Ichiban preparing our meal which was entertaining and excellent. His care and concern for the customers was above and beyond while ensuring that the servers were on task during the new re-opening. Great job Ichiban!

Hi, I was super excited that my favorite place finally opened after anticipating it for months. I used to frequent often multiple times a week at the other location. But today was the first day I decided to go. So, I walk in and then ask to sit at the area at the front near the bar. The Girl says it’s a 35 min wait then we agree and then it’s 45 mins which is fine and expected, we’re like sure no big deal. So we wait and we get a message and go back on. Then we hear them calling our name to go with the big group of people for the sit down hibachi- which is not what we wanted as we go to the big hibachi for special occasions and holidays etc, not for apps and sushi and dessert. Then we mention to the girl at the front we requested the tables at the front and she’s like well no that’s wrong info. And she’s like no you’d have to wait again another 45 mins. Then the other girl returns and we tell her what happened and she scrolls on the iPad and is like sure! We can seat you. Then the other girl objects and says no, I told the other table it would be 10 mins they’d have to wait an hour. And then completely does not care or have any ounce of attempting to help or resolve the situation even with what the other girl stated. It’s not a good first impression and makes me not want to return as everyone else in there was being treated with respect. I definitely understand it’s a new location lots of busy stuff happening which is fine. It’s just the rudeness and lack of empathy was insane. This was the only way to contact a manager so I had to post this. I was excited to be able to have you opened again but now I kinda don’t want to return. I guess I’ll go again if I know I’m respected and don’t feel discriminated against and everything goes well maybe my rating will go back up.

Ichiban ( chef) was awesome! Great service and food! 💫

  • 4/5 Travis H. 6 months ago on Google
Decent hibachi food overall. The absolute best thing was the portion size. Get ready for more food than you can handle in one sitting. The wait times seemed to be very long even on a Monday. Unfortunately the service was a bit slow and the steak was overcooked to a week done when it was ordered medium. Onion soup, fried rice, and noodles were great! Another positive was the cleanliness of both the restaurant and the bathrooms. The lighted and dimming mirrors in the restrooms were a nice touch.

Was super excited for this restaurant to finally open after YEARS. We should have known it was going to be disappointing when someone leaving was talking about how it "wasn't worth it" as we were entering. Our server was...okay. She was friendly enough I suppose, but we repeatedly had to ask for simple things. Lemon wedges, a knife, sauce that was SUPPOSED to come with the appetizer. She only did end up bringing one of those things. She then went on to talk about how she needed a raise... 🤨 The chef cooked my filet properly, but all of the food tasted like nothing but oil and soy sauce. My mom couldn't even eat her chicken entree, it was so salty. And she LOVES salt. Overall, this experience helped us remember why we quit going to your last location. Not a good look for opening weekend.
