The
Frank
Lloyd
Wright
tour
on
the
campus
of
Florida
Southern
University
was
a
very
surreal
experience
for
me.
It
felt
as
if
I
had
been
transported
back
in
time
to
1937
and
was
witnessing
the
construction
of
this
beautiful
campus
through
the
eyes
of
a
visionary
genius.
The
walls
in
the
courtyard
seamlessly
connected
as
I
walked
through
the
main
(original)
campus
buildings.
Despite
the
ceilings
being
only
about
6'6
tall,
there
was
a
strange
sense
of
security.
These
structures
are
truly
one
of
a
kind.
The
architecture
bears
a
striking
resemblance
to
the
modern
designs
featured
in
today's
magazines.
I
recently
came
across
images
of
Beyoncé
and
Jay-Z's
home
in
California,
which
was
the
most
expensive
piece
of
real
estate
ever
purchased
in
the
state.
Surprisingly,
it
looked
remarkably
similar
to
the
buildings
that
Frank
Lloyd
Wright
constructed
on
this
campus.
The
use
of
concrete
blocks,
minimalist
aesthetics,
and
continuous
lines
were
strikingly
familiar.
The
campus
itself
is
undeniably
a
masterpiece.
I
couldn't
imagine
attending
classes
every
day
in
a
building
that
is
a
literal
work
of
art,
but
that's
a
whole
different
topic.
Moreover,
it's
astonishing
to
think
that
Wright
managed
to
complete
all
of
these
buildings
during
World
War
II.
The
entire
experience
was
truly
surreal,
and
I
highly
recommend
taking
the
time
to
explore
and
appreciate
it.
