We enjoyed the self-guided tour, which started in the gift shop. Note that you should park across from the visitor center - there is no on-street parking in this historic district. My favorite was the mile-long covered walkways (esplanades) between buildings. They had geometric cutouts to allow light and water for the plants.

If you are a Frank Lloyd Wright or architecture fan, Florida Southern College is a MUST SEE! While we came too late in the day for a tour, we had the pleasure of meeting Mr. J. Coffey in the Visitor’s Center/ Gift Shop. He was so knowledgable, kind and helpful! We chatted about FLW for awhile and he shared the best way to see the campus and gave us a map. We peeked in the Usonian Home through the windows, and walked towards the lake to see the water dome, admin buildings and the two chapels (both open to the public). It was a beautiful day for our self- guided walking tour!

This place is beautiful and a must see if you love good architecture. Nice gardens and flowers planted as well throughout the campus. We enjoyed just walking around and admiring everything and it was nice and quite too. Definitely recommend.

The Frank Lloyd Wright tour on the campus of Florida Southern University was a very surreal experience for me. It felt as if I had been transported back in time to 1937 and was witnessing the construction of this beautiful campus through the eyes of a visionary genius. The walls in the courtyard seamlessly connected as I walked through the main (original) campus buildings. Despite the ceilings being only about 6'6 tall, there was a strange sense of security. These structures are truly one of a kind. The architecture bears a striking resemblance to the modern designs featured in today's magazines. I recently came across images of Beyoncé and Jay-Z's home in California, which was the most expensive piece of real estate ever purchased in the state. Surprisingly, it looked remarkably similar to the buildings that Frank Lloyd Wright constructed on this campus. The use of concrete blocks, minimalist aesthetics, and continuous lines were strikingly familiar. The campus itself is undeniably a masterpiece. I couldn't imagine attending classes every day in a building that is a literal work of art, but that's a whole different topic. Moreover, it's astonishing to think that Wright managed to complete all of these buildings during World War II. The entire experience was truly surreal, and I highly recommend taking the time to explore and appreciate it.

Jack C. was a great tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and passionate. You could tell he loved his job. The campus was absolutley beautiful other than the mold and cracks that need to be cleaned and repaired on most of the buildings.

If you are passing through Lakeland and love architecture you MUST stop in and go on a tour. Call ahead to set it up, we did the full 2 hour tour and saw a collection of some of the most amazing buildings in a single campus you will ever see - and most still function! Our tour guide was great and told us all about the area, buildings, history, etc. Don't miss this! $50 for the full tour per person but well worth it.

Carol was an amazing tour guide. We even ran over by 45 minutes so the tour was supposed to be an hour and a half but ended up being 2 hours and 15 minutes because she was so good.

Parking is not easy and for me that is incredibly stressful so that is why I did not give it the full 5 stars. That being said when we finally found a place to park, we checked in at the gift shop and were on our way to the self guided tour. The maps to help you find the buildings are only $5 and it is worth it.

What a neat exposure to the work of Frank Lloyd Wright. We walked around the campus marveling at the designs ahead of his time.

One of a kind experience! Stumbled across this place on a sunny, Saturday afternoon, while just driving around on a mini getaway from Miami. Practically had the place to myself to soak in the scenery in silence. I’d recommend going at least twice. Once on a tour so you can explore inside the buildings and once alone if you’re someone like me who enjoys viewing scenery at your own pace and without constant noise (talking) and obstruction. Fantastic experience!

We did the self guided tour $5 per group. We thoroughly enjoyed our walk around the campus seeing Wright’s architectural designs while reading about each building on the brochure.

Beautiful gift shop where your campus tour starts. A Sears catalog home with the interior remodeled in a prairie style. I love the shadows of the courtyard lights and porch pillars. Thoroughly enjoyed the 2.5hr in depth tour. Excellent guid and well worth it. While the buildings were interesting I think my favorite part was the 1 mile worth of Esplanades. I think a press of button on the tour should add a glimpse of the 45ft water dome in action particularly on a warm day, but the fountain still looked good at half power.
