Quiet small park with plenty of walking trails, open plains, scrubland, and a good number of lakes. If you're quiet and patient, you'll get the chance to see alligators, hawks, ibises, ducks, fish, turtles, tortoises, and even snakes. The park offers a variety of classes including fishing, kayaking, trail walks, and even a few times per year, stargazing. Definitely a place to bring your family or go solo to just relax.

Great Park. One of the newest state parks in FL. Everything is new and clean. 50 feet or more between camp sites. Sites have water and power. Some shade at most sites. Usually not crowded. Two nice dump stations, never a wait. Nice fishing/boating lake. No swimming due to the local reptiles. Lots of hiking trails. Equestrian friendly park with special camp sites.

Came here to rent kayaks Sept 2021. Pay at ranger station and come unlock your own that are laying out by the lake. Watch out for large ant piles all around kayak storage area. Old, weathered kayaks, but worked fine. Saw two alligators on the lake, but they swam away from us. Small lake, enjoyable for short excursion one time, can now say been there done that. Enjoyed walking trails too.

I had a great time staying at the tent loop. The sites were spacious and the restroom were clean. The only negative is that if there are rowdy neighbors, the campground host doesn't seem to care.

Great day for Paddle with a Ranger on Lake Mac. PFDs, paddles and kayaks were available. Brief but well covered safety instructions prior to launch. Ranger Elijah was patient, informative and handled multi-generational groups of varying experience with ease.

Excellent park. Huge and very very well maintained. Fishing, hiking, biking and camping. I did the trails. Easy and very scenic. Did almost 10 miles. So relaxing and the smell of the pine trees and natural essential oils was great. First think l thing I saw was 6 adolescent white tail deer.

It was a great State Park. Huge campsites on gravel. Small campground with lots of trails to explore. Kayaking, biking etc. I highly recommend. Its only 15 min.from ny house so it's nice and close. The only bad point is very poor cell phone service.

I love this place! We camped during the winter. This is such a nice park and campground with beautiful grounds, clean bathrooms, with electric, fire pit, grill, and water spigot on each camp pad. The bathrooms are central in the loop, so not far from anyone. There are many picturesque seating areas, biking, hiking, trails, creeks, lakes, and wildlife. This is the easiest and most comfortable camping I've done, even with two kids and a dog! Bring your own firewood because their firewood was too damp to light from condensation in the wood shed. Also, there are small airports nearby, so it's a little noisy from those planes at night. Otherwise it's a great experience.

Colt Creek, what a jewel! We had an amazing time visiting here. Explored 21 miles of trails,  enjoyed the doc on Mac Lake  and the staff are very friendly and professional.  The hosts did an amazing job keeping up after the visitors,  and wow never seen public restrooms so clean. Tons of wild flowers, animals and things to do for everyone.  Very rural and quiet,  except some campers who do not read the rules.

It's a very nice quiet place to camp but if you want cell service or want to watch TV then don't camp here unless you have your own! Bathroom/shower house has been the cleanest ones we've been to on this journey. Staff is nice as well! Theres a few baby gators in the pond up front at the docks too. Big catfish as well!🐊🐟 🦎 🌺 A very beautiful park! 😍

Clean beautiful affordable peaceful and just down right cool. The maintenance company that maintains the hiking paths, and everything else is the best in Lakeland! Good job Florida big win.

Pretty nice. A lot of people said they have deer. I didn't see any but maybe I just wasn't in the right place. There were lots of scary bugs. It's kind of dirty here. The bathrooms could use work. The employees at the entrance were helpful. The card reader wasn't working for them so they let us in for free.

I was passing by and had to stop in and check it out. Beautiful State Park and very well cared for. Already planning on going back to spend the day.

The campground is nicely laid out in a loop. The sites are mostly large, private and well maintained. Each has water electric, a grill, picnic table and fire circle a few have sewer. Many well marked trails for hiking biking horseback riding.

👍 We have loved our experience with Legoland park and the water park! We’ve had a lot of fun and during our time didn’t have to wait in lines. I would give 5 stars except a few attractions we were interested in were closed for maintenance (which is understanding) and some features like the mini land l...
