It was surprisingly affordable. Family of 4, just over $40 for all day. And we took our time with each exhibit because they are all very hands-on & engaging. Even me & Dad were playing, especially with the Tesla coil. ( I was the emporer zapping Luke.) Kids made wands unexpectedly. And that was pretty cool. Every thing was very well laid out so that other visitors barely ever crossed our paths. Beautiful outside playground too. And Nature trails right off the parking lot. My 9 & 12 year old really enjoyed it. (Dad & I did, too!)

This is a classic run-down museum that obviously doesn’t have enough funding to do interesting things with. Our kiddos enjoyed their time, but I suspect it will get old fast during repeat visits. The AC was great, especially on a hot day. Spend time building with the big wooden blocks. Those are the best.

Loved our experience so much I forgot to pull out my phone to snap more pics! Totally worth visiting. Grabbed annual passes on our way out. We stayed up until closing. Definitely attention grabbing. Many hands on activities for our little explorers who like to touch everything! Clean and friendly staff :) they were all so helpful. We also tried the VR experience which was really fun. We couldn’t do the Sky Line activity because we didn’t have the right footwear (so make sure you wear closed toe shoes!) Wish we visited sooner! Highly recommend this attraction.

The museum has been downsized, so if you went several years ago and are expecting anything similar you will be disapointed. Whats left of the museum is now in the small one story building that used to have the childrens area in it. If you havent been here before its not a bad price if you need a couple of hours to spend doing something fun. I would recommend this for kids ages 6-12. There is not much at all for kids under 5. Theres no imaginitive play or simple hands on activities like what childrens museums have. Most things require being able to read to fully enjoy, or a bit of help from someone who can read. **The large dinosaur animatronics are not a permanent feature, they are a temporary exibit. Please check the website for dates or other exhibits.**

Super fun for the kids and lots to learn. Brought my 3 year old here and he had a blast. Can't beat the fun for the low price of admission. There is fun activities for kids of all ages. Shoot, even the adults have fun here! Definitely recommend if you are looking for something to do with the kids on the weekend.

A great place for kids aged 6-12. I wouldn’t recommend for older kids and also adults who are into science as I felt the experiments and demonstrations cover mostly the basics. But within the selection there were some interesting ones such as the human body and relaxation game. Loved the open area where they do the artwork. Spoke to the artist there too and the passion he showed towards his work is surely contagious 🤩❤️ The outdoor activities are great for younger kids too. They have an amazing planetarium 🪐 however I feel they can shorten the content and give a much more energetic experience that ends with a bang ‼️ (just a kind recommendation) Overall it was a great experience but again, I would recommend the place for a younger audience. 😇🙏

Haven't been for over a decade. With the girlfriend in town, I wanted to take her to a fun museum since she loves them. We decided on MOSI. Unfortunately, as a lot of other reviews have noted, the place is a shadow of its former self, as the larger three story building is seemingly empty and devoid of all the amazing exhibits it used to have. Having said that, MOSI does a decent job at utilizing the little space they have. There's plenty of exhibits, but due to the smaller size, it's not quite a day trip anymore. Even taking our time and trying all the exhibits we were done in two hours. You can probably squeeze three hours out of a very inquisitive kid or two, but there's not much here for adults. I'm saddened by the loss of the MOSI of my childhood, but hopeful that if they move to a Tampa location closer to downtown in the future, that it'll be bigger and more enjoyable. For now, it's not more than two or three hours and never again. As a side note, the planetarium show was amazing, and our narrator Max was incredible. Totally worth the $5 per person, check it out.

I LOVE this place! My son and I think MOSI is one of the best places to go to be entertained & to learn as well! The ride with virtual reality is great and they change the virtual reality movie too so if you go back you're may see a different one ($8 a person). It's a great place to take kids. I love how all kiddos and adults are welcome. My son is autistic and the staff there treat him so sweetly. I appreciate it immensely! Great staff and cool merchandise to buy & take home as a momento!

Lots of great things to keep young and old minds entertained. The sky rope zone was TERRIFYING and also terrific, even though I spent the majority of my time hanging onto a large metal pole, I'd still do it again.. the artist at work was so mesmerizing. Would come come back, even without the kids.

It was a very hot day in Florida. This is a very nice place to visit. My adult son loved doing the ropes course. We loved the show in the planetarium and Charely was our host. He did a great job. This is a great place for young children.

The pricing for this place could be better but this place is educational and fun at the same time sure there are better options than this but there are so many things to do here the possibilities are endless! Normally you’d spend 1-3 hours here. My tip in advance is to come here in the evening/afternoon on a weekday if you’d like it to be less busy. One thing I don’t recommend is paying extra to do more things as it is too expensive and not as good as it sounds nonetheless I would recommend going here.

I took my 9 year old son thinking this would be a cool place for him to learn and have fun. We were both very disappointed! The place is a bit run down. Some of the game did not work or were in rough condition. We paid extra for the planetarium and this was the biggest disappointment by far! We went in thinking we were going to see planets but we saw a poor quality animated movie about atom splitting. After the movie we had a poor speaker explain the stars and Greek mythology and he did a very poor job! We wanted to see PLANETS! The speaker did a quick point to mars and that was it. We should have gone to the Children's museum in downtown Tampa. The rope walk which we also paid extra to do was somewhat difficult for most of the kids.

Great indoor activity for kids. Huge focus on stars and moon. Loved all the activities catering to NASA. Planetarium was fascinating, worth the extra, but difficult for littles to stay awake or quiet. Simulator was a great experience and worth the extra cost. Definitely a great place on a rainy day, sunny day or a time killer on a hot afternoon before heading home.

I was skeptical about this place but it didn't disappoint the 3 kids or us! Different activities for kids of all ages and adults too. I was told they're also putting in a restaurants so adults can enjoy a drink as well! We're more of an outdoor family but florida in the summer doesn't allow for too much outside time between the heat and thunderstorms so this was the activity of the day. There was a theater for an extra cost as well as a virtual underwater experience which we didn't partake in but looked fun. Flip through the pics, way too many things to mention them all. A great way to spend a rainy day BUT when the rain did let up, they even have 2 things to do outside for fun as well.

Happy Pi Day! We stopped by on 3/14 and glad that we did! Pi themed activities and food trucks from 11-3. Talked to the news crew, stopped at the planetarium and my favorite part was the 3D printing exhibit. Toothpick World was awesome too. The MOSI is great for young engineers and imaginations. The exhibits can keep people of all ages interested. Highly recommend.

Great museum for the price! A family of 4 can spend less than $50 for a day there. The add-ons such as mini-golf, ropes course, VR ride, and planetarium are very reasonably priced. The recent traveling exhibits have been awesome and are included with admission. Can’t believe some of the 1 star reviews of this museum. Where else in Tampa can you go for for less than $20? The museum downsized in 2017 and changed their prices to reflect that. There really is nothing different about it other than the size and price. People complain that the IMAX is gone… so are 90% of the IMAX theaters in America. The reviewers that are giving 1 star reviews are all basing their reviews on nostalgia… guess what, nothing is the same as you remember anymore!

Mosi is a very fun and family friendly activity to do. There are so many activities for the kids to engage in while there and an awesome play ground in the middle of the complex. There are also some food options including a vegan impossible burger at the eatery next to the ropes course. The museum is expanding its super hero halls of justice which already looks like an amazing place! Highly recommend!

We visited Tampa and stopped here. We have an annual membership to our local science museum in West Palm which got us in for free. The museum is not as bit as it appears from the road because some of the buildings are no longer used by the museum. Anyway we enjoyed our visit and learned a lot. The planetarium is an extra 5$. The ropes course is an extra $7. We skipped the ropes course because you can only start at certain times so we would have had to wait. I would recommend planning this when you arrive if interested. There are many restaurants nearby and you can come and go from the museum. We liked the plaza a couple blocks away with Qdoba, Einstein Bagels, and a Mediterranean restaurant. This allowed multiple options for our group.

The museum was a pleasant experience. My children are 11 and 13 years old and they were interested in the activities. There are not many things to see and do, but it was a great Saturday afternoon. It has activities for children of all ages. They are maintaining their care regarding COVID 19. Easy to park.

We were looking for something to do last minute and found enough to fill our day! Soooo much to do. Food - the only thing that would have kept us there longer. There's a vending machine with snacks but we would have easily spent more time and money if sandwiches or burgers were available.

I attended the "Science After Dark" event this past Friday, and as always it did not disappoint. The theme was the "sciene of taste." This is one of my favorite to date, (I've been to handle of these events) there were stations involving wine tasting, bourbon 101, and the science behind spice, to name a few. Whether you are a local or not this is a fun date night option or a group of friends to do something out of the norm. I look forward for the next one in February!

Smaller than remembered. Some features were in need of some minor repairs. Our son had fun, so that's all that matters. Prices were fair. Planetarium was really clean and cool, even worth the extra cost. We were there for 3 hours. We appreciated all the hand sanitizing stations throughout the buildings. The snack/gift area was sufficient and pleasing. Looks like they are doing a lot of improvements and additions.

I read the other reviews before I went and had very low expectations. That being said, we had an absolutely wonderful time! So many interactive activities, so many places to snap photos. There's a lot to see from dinosaurs to the Moon. My 7 year old & 15 year old both loved it! It was pretty empty when we first arrived, but after lunchtime, it filled up pretty fast. Will definitely be going back again.

i would love to give it more starts. however, it is very small now and still expensive given what you get. but the biggest part is their summer camps. I have always sent my children their for summer camps. and they love it. but I will not be sending them because they aren't even going to bother taking the temperature of the kids! all the parents have to do is sign a paper ONCE A WEEK saying that their kid is healthy. this is not safe update Oct 2020, went to the museum and i would say only 50% of the people are wearing masks and when I mentioned it to the only 2 staff members working, they said that it isn't their job to ensure guests wear masks. we will not be renewing our membership

So family budget friendly and you can spend the whole day here. We did the bungee thing I forget what it’s called but you have to balance and walk on these different beans and ropes attached to a harness, it was so exciting, we went to the planetarium and learned about starts and telescopes and planets and did the virtual reality underwater experience. It’s so hands on interactive science stuff for kids and fun for the adults too. I recommend visiting.

I just love going to museums in the cities I visit. While in Tampa, I went there with my daughter and 1 year old grand-daughter. This is clearly a museum that will cater WONDERFULLY to children from 8 to 13 years old. There is so much to do, SO MANY interactive activities for children. Just be forewarned, I loved the place, but I don't think it is really in the same genre as your typical old school science museum. That being said, it is a wonderful, clean and modern house of learning!

  • 4/5 Deepak K. 2 years ago on Google
A small museum but full of so many interesting activities. Kids will really enjoy the virtual reality short movie (4 min).Planetarium show is 1 hour long. Sometimes kids get bored, so you can avoid the planetarium show.

MOSI, short for Museum of Science and Industry did not disappoint. My family and I enjoyed the visit and participated in most of the sections of the museum. It is small but armed with various interesting areas. I would recommend the Mars area, the Planetarium, the outside area. It can be a short visit worth your money and time.

This was awesome! Kids will definitely love it and these adults did too. Not only did we all have fun but we all learned something new. Plan to spend at least a couple of hours because you will want to see and play with everything! Also, free parking!

Smaller than I remembered, but still a lot of fun for kids. Price is also good and parking was free. There are only vending machines inside but close by to many eateries. There are some great exhibits on the human body, space, and even a butterfly garden. We didn't do the ropes course but it looked really cool and was a couple stories high. They also have a planetarium that we didn't do.

  • 5/5 David L. 5 months ago on Google
It's a fun place to hang out with your kids for an afternoon. There are a lot of things to do and interesting things even for adults to read up on. The planetarium is also very good experience and if you're really tired a great opportunity for a nap.

The Museum of Science & Industry (better known locally as MOSI) is a great place for kids to play, let off some steam, and learn at the same time. The ropes course was a great confidence booster and safe for all that participated. Plenty of interactive things to engage in throughout.

So... no IMAX... not since 2017. It is a hands-on museum so be prepared to touch a lot of objects to participate. There are hand sanitation stations and disinfectant wipes around if you get caught up and actually touch something. The atmosphere feels a little dreary... is that normal or just since COVID? We had fun for what its worth!

I miss it being bigger but my kids still had a great time. Mosi did a good job with the space they have to work with. Apparently the new CEO downsized in 2017 by 80% with plans to move it to downtown Tampa. We had fun though and the playground outside was their favorite.

First visit with my family...not so impressed I'm saddened to say. It was empty, not much to see or do. Only exciting part of our trip was the planuterium. There were about 5 to 7 other people there. I asked someone whom I thought worked there a question and she said she doesn't, she just cleans. I asked her anyway about the building outside with the nice windows, she told me it was under construction then stopped so there's nothing in there. What a waste of space and educational purpose. I personally think the fee was/is not worth what they have to offer. If you're planning on visiting, I'd skip this one, honestly nothing to see or do here. The emptyness was not due to COVID-19, per the ticket booth girl and guy that were there, it's been that empty for about a year. It was worth a one time visit but never again.

The museum was bustling but not crowded, and employees sanitized the hands-on exhibits many times. The VR Simulator was lots of fun, and the Moonbase was immersive and informative. The real star of the show was the Planetarium presenter, he was knowledgeable and entertaining, his show was fun for my kids as well as my wife and I. Definitely worth it for the cost.
