This was the worst year I have visited Horrors Night. For platinum members we don't have that much of a problem since it's 2 days free but you still expect to enjoy a horror show which since I've been visiting since I've had my passes (2018) the quality has deteriorated. There was no longer the magic that greeted you from the entrance, and which followed through the entire route of the park and which many times 2 days did not give you to enjoy everything. Now in 2 or 3 hours you run all the houses, some more of the same and the park empty compared to other years instead of being terrified, I left depressed because the employees passed you sometimes as if nothing the emotion of the sound was often not there, it seemed more like a funeral than a Horrors Night. I hope that Busch Gardens will look for ways to improve this so that they can retake that illusion of Horrors that one hopes to enjoy and take a lot of pictures. This year I only took about 4 to just document what it was but nothing to recommend to visit. Sorry for those who pay and don't get the quality of show they expect to see.

The top Halloween theme park for the entire Tampa Bay region, and a screaming value for the price of admission, especially if you purchase tickets in advance with a promotional discount. There is an early 2 hour entry with your Howl-O-Scream admission, I recommend getting there early, enjoy some rides, than get into a haunted house line at least 30 minutes before the event starts, this will give you adequate time to get through all the haunted houses and shows before the park closes. My top 2 scare zones are Sun City Zombies and Raven's Hill. My top 3 haunted houses are Stranglewood Estate, Witch of the Woods, and Circus of Fear. You may have extra time afterward to ride some of the best coasters in the dark for a different experience.

We got the unlimited pass to go as many nights as we want and I’ve had a blast every time. I don’t understand people who leave a bad review, I have gone almost every single night and even though sometimes you can tell there are areas that are understaffed everyone who is working is giving 110%. I have to imagine scaring people all night can be a physically difficult job and on top of that this is just a temporary seasonal gig for them but they perform like true professionals. I’ve seen some guests make it a not fun experience but the employees have been awesome. Going to HOS so many times has been the best stress relief for me, I love screaming and laughing all night. The houses are really well designed and the scare zones are too! The Junkyard one is basically an extra haunted house. They are all awesome. Knowing the actors roam the park keeps the tension up and I’ve had a few scares from them that were very unique and made the experience even cooler. Keep up the great work everyone!!!! Oh, and don’t bring small kids to this please. The imagery is really adult in places, and it makes everyone uncomfortable to try to be chill around your 5yo. Get a babysitter, it’s cheaper than the therapy they will need later.

I enjoyed the haunted houses. They were fun and the lines weren't too terrible. My complaint was the food and fountain drinks. My meal at Dragon something or other was a cheeseburger and fries. I also grabbed a drink. That was roughly 25 with a discount. It was crazy salty too. Later my friends and I bought the refillable cups for unlimited drinks like soda and water. Most of the machines were flooded with ice, or the ice didn't come out, out of soda, etc. To pay the amount for a ticket and the refillable cups, the park should have more people to maintain cleanliness and have drinks. Felt disappointed with that.

This year it was good but not as interactive as previous years due to covid is my guess. Lines are very long and they let too many people in each house at a time. If you do go i suggest getting the fast pass or else you will spend all your time in line and most likely wont make it to all 5 houses. There are a few scare zones that were pretty decent as well

Not as good as years past (probably due to the covid pandemic.) Almost no where to eat except the Zagora Cafe at the front of the park. Only found one location in the whole park during the event to get icees with the reusable cup. Lots of empty boo holes in the houses when we went through 🤷🏼‍♀️. That said the house designs were pretty cool and the scares we did get were great. Also loved doing Zombie Bumper Cars and the scare zone scaractors we're really cool about stopping to pose for pics when we asked 🎃.

Amazing time! Appreciated the quick ride lines and plenty of activities around the park to do! VIP Parking was a breeze. Only thing I’ll knock the park for is better food choices or options. Food looked stale and not really appetizing. Excellent scare zones and the actors really trying and giving it their best. Howl O Scream was a lot more organized than the other Halloween theme parks. Attractions/Rides open were a blast. I haven’t been on a rollercoaster in a minute and I couldn’t stop laughing it was so fun! Will definitely be coming back before Samhain.

I been going to Bush Gardens Howl-O-Scream and Universal Halloween Horror Nights almost every year since I can remember. lol. Halloween is actually one of my favorite times of the year. Can’t wait to go back again this year as well. If you go to Universal In Orlando or Bush Gardens in Tampa, Make sure you get the fast passes so you don’t have to wait in line for hours and hours! Lol. Just a few months away! See you soon!

Super fun event, at our favorite park ever! Lots to do, the haunted houses were amazing, but we wish there had been more scares. The scare zones were more fun than the houses. We were able to visit 3, out of the 5 houses, due to the extremely long wait times (60-120min each). There were lots of bars around the park, even though the drinks were very weak, with almost no alcohol in them, beers are always available. Riding the rides at night is also awesome! Come on over, Busch Gardens is awesome any time of year!

This was a very disappointing visit to Howl-o-Scream. Lines were very long for Haunted houses and rides of at least an hour wait time. The place was so dark and yes I understand it's Halloween themed, it's supposed to be dark, but not so much that you can't find half the places you're looking for. The staff seemed like they were hired from a temp agency to fill spots, as they were clueless to any question about locations of houses or rides. The crowd was very rude and looking for trouble. Probably because of terrible neighborhood around the park. 2guys cut us in line for tram to go back to parking lot. Police had to be called. Ridiculous!!! Most agregious was the fact the Haunted houses weren't scary at all. Better luck next year Busch Gardens massive fail.👎💯💩

We had a lot of fun! There were 5 or so haunted houses and some roller coasters open. The lines were a lot shorter than I thought they would be so we were able to get through quickly. The only bad thing I can say is that they let so many in the haunted house at a time that when you were near the end of the group, there was nothing much to surprise you. The band was a lot of fun to see and the scary sections of the park were cool! Great decorations!

Haven't been in a few years so it was nice to get a refresher on the experience. Definitely fewer houses then recent years but seems reasonable has lines for them are extremely long, definitely recommend the fast pass for the houses unless you wanna spend your whole night waiting 😅. Overall most of the haunted houses were great with one being a little underwhelming (cellblock zombies), and the ambiance is nice walking through the park at night with spooky music, light s, and actors littered throughout the park, plus the bar is a must😏. Definitely fun time!

Amazing and beautiful place to visit in Busch Gardens when you are around Tampa. The decor is amazing and beautifully decorated which haunted houses and roller coasters in night which makes the experience unimaginable and beautiful. We went on the first day of howl-o-scream and we were able to complete the houses as well as shows in 5 hours. Amazing job by Busch gardens and all the people who worked at Busch Gardens to make howl-o-scream successful. Don't miss howl-o-scream.

So fun! Great coasters. We have season passes so we go often. The Halloween theatrics are not super duper scary and they do not touch you when you walk around the park. Definitely worth checking out! We love Busch gardens. It's a great value for what you pay for! I also suggest buying your quick que pass before you enter the park. The prices go up as the day goes on! You can also save a little on buying tickets before you enter the park. Fyi skip the dessert place at the front of the park. The funnel cakes are no good! 🙈

We did the ultimate VIP tour on opening weekend. With this you get a customized 7 hour VIP tour, You get preferred parking ($35-50 variable value) Front of the line access to all houses, front of the line access to all rides, a one-time front of the line pass to Iron Gawzi since it's still new. If you want to do the same house over and over or the same rides over and over that's your choice the guides will do that since it's customizable. You also get a free interactive Skull lanyard that lights up and does fog ($35 value) and a free yard cup that you can put alcoholic beverages in that is allowed to go in haunted houses that you can wear around your neck. ($17 value) these are included with your ultimate VIP tour ticket. You also get unlimited drinks at select areas and at the fiends show, such as water, soda, beer seltzer alcohol, and signature drinks. Complimentary spicy popcorn bags and sun chips. I was very pleased with our experience. Our guides, Michael and Jessica were awesome. They were very knowledgeable about all aspects of the park! We started the night at the lounge for small snacks and drinks. At 7, we went to Dragonfire Grill for dinner and the Rolling Bones. They did covers of classic songs like Ghostbusters and The Devil Went Down to Georgia. The show was pretty good. We could choose between chicken tenders, burgers or Chinese. The burgers were really good. Afterwards, we started walking through the houses and exploring the park. The houses were amazing. They were very immersive and very well put together. There was a stand still in one of the houses but Michael tried to get the issue fixed. Unfortunately, the other times we tried to go back, there was still a stand still. It didn't put a damper on our night. I really liked the 50/50 show. It was really fun. The Fiends was ok. The jokes were pretty adult in nature. I really enjoyed the scare-actors. I liked how they were able to interact with you. It's not like that in some other haunts. When it says that nowhere is safe, they mean it. As we were walking out, we passed a guy who was yelling for his wife to hurry up - it turned out he was a chainsaw guy and made my wife jump. The actors were even in the shop messing with people while they shop. We definitely had a better experience here than Halloween Horror Nights. We were able to take our time and enjoy the night, whereas at HHN, we were rushed and pushed through the houses. Our tour guides Michael and Jessica went above and beyond to make sure our night was amazing and always made sure that we were happy and that we were doing what we wanted to do. We will definitely be back.

Ok so this was my 2nd time at howl o scream. I went years n years ago. I was impressed and not.. First of all the wait time myth. These actual wait times were double what was advertised. 60 mins was 120 mins. Iron gwazi said 70 min wait, it was over 2 1/2 hours. So that i was not happy about. The houses were really good. The witch in the woods was my favorite. Not many food options. Lots of drinks n popcorn though. Overall i was not impressed with the overall event. Heres some tips for busch gardens.. 1.more food options. Nothings worse then smelling brisket and ribs at 10 pm and not having any ability to purchase bbq there 😕 2. ACTUAL wait times (dont sweeten up those times to draw in people) 3. More houses less rides. Its supposed to be a halloween event not a night roller coaster adventure only. 4. Makes your ques bigger! They were 2 feet wide in certain spots!! Not cool. 5. Better park navigation. This place is hard to navigate at night. 6. Watch those scare actors on those metal knee skid pads. These guys are a foot away from hitting people. Guests could get very very hurt potentially. Overall this event needs work. It needs proper planning and execution, proper dining options. You cant replicate universals halloween horror nights. Dont try. What you can do is take very important ideas and protocols from them and implement them into your strategy for howl o scream. I would try it again though. I have faith in the nightly staff of Busch gardens who execute this event. But, the event planners dont have my confidence lol

The haunted houses are good! It’s a fun experience. Be prepared for long waits in line and large crowds. Seriously busy. Remember, if you have issues waiting in line you can get special accommodations at customer service inside park.

We go every year. Even walking around the park without waiting in lines there are actors jumping out to scare you. There are "safe zones" where you can rest easy, though. The rides are all running like normal, so you have those in addition to haunted houses. It does get crowded closer to Halloween, so I recommend going when they usually open in September.

The haunted houses and scare zones were cool but the people there and the overall atmosphere was just annoying. Too many drunk people. I did not have a good time at all. They ruined the night and I don't think I'll ever be going back again. Ticket prices were too high to even want to go again.

Lots of fun! No wait times for rides (walked right onto Iron Gwazi) or haunted houses. Scare actors were excellent and the houses were beautifully decorated. The Cirque X Scream show is not to be missed! Overall, best Howl-o-Scream has the best value in all of Florida for the price of entry.

The staff were great, and started to siphon out regular day guests to night time guests around 6:30ish. The houses were great, each with great themes. The wait lines may have been long, but they moved fluidly and that made it all quite easy. We were able to ride a few rides, which at night is a truly great experience. The scare zones and themed foods and drinks were great too!

Love love coming to Howl O scream!! Every year we always go. Never is a dull moment. The houses are amazing, different and the wait is so short. The concerts are better here for sure. Just love it with a passion. Can’t wait to go back!! 🥰❤️😍🌟

We were there to see the Christmas lights. While the lights were on before sundown, they are best after dark. Busch Gardens never disappoints !

I've been wanting to go to Howl O Scream for the longest time. Finally went last night (Friday Eve) and the qr code to scan to get your map of houses and scare zones were not working. No paper maps either. The houses were not that scary... pretty basic. They needed more people in the houses at every corner to pop out and scare. Was able to hit 3 of the houses and was a little disappointed. We were like people stand in line for this?! We refused to wait in line an hour or so to hit the other 2 cause the other 3 houses were just okay. Nothing to tell your friends about really. The only thing that was super cool was the Cirque show at Stanleyville theater!

The worst part was trying to get into parking. They need to have police directing traffic. We got there at 7:15 and didn’t cross the road and get into parking until 8:40. The roads were so blocked up. Waits for the houses were around 1 hour. We got into two in 20-30 minutes. I didn’t think waits were too bad. The scare zones were fun and I liked the vibe. We paid $35 each for two tickets and it was worth it. They need to address parking though because that was atrocious.

Every year howl o scream just seems to get better and better. I love going there for a night of fright the scare zones and lore top notch also the two shows are killer don't miss them!

  • 2/5 Joel D. 2 years ago on Google
Christmas town was crowded. Liked it better when this was a separate ticket. This limited the number of people. The lines tonight where long for everything. Only half of the food areas where opened causing lines that took 45 minutes. Because of this food quality suffered and foods where out of stock. Only had 2 shows where being done at the Dragon Grill and the Moroccan Palace. The Christmas in Ice was very good.

  • 5/5 Cat G. 6 months ago on Google
They do a great job at this event every year. The houses and scare zones are great. Also enjoyed the show cirque x-scream. The wait times were amazingly short and the weather was perfect!

Went to howl-o-scream last Friday and it was so much fun!!!!! SIN CITY ZOMBIES WAS THE BEST SCARE ZONE! the chef was awesome and so were the other zombies. Bravo to all the scare actors and actresses you can totally tell their heart and soul is in their role 🖤🧡

If you love long lines with overpriced food and drinks and boring hunted houses, then this place is for you! Expect to wait at least an hour on average, sometimes longer, to get in a warehouse with lazy and non scary characters. The place was packed and spent mostly walking around. Im a passholder, and this even is truly the worst thing I've experienced at this park.

  • 5/5 Lori Z. 1 year ago on Google
We headed to the back straight thru the entrance and worked our way towards the front. Saved hours of waiting in line! Forgot there is uneven ground when running away from the chainsaw guy and ate the pavement pretty hard. Ended up with skinned knees, arm and hand and a sprained finger but it was all so worth it. My first time at a haunted park and LOVED it!

  • 4/5 John G. 1 year ago on Google
While crowded it was still enjoyable. The scare zone had great theming, but scaractor to people ratio was off big time resulting in less scares. Beautiful houses. Great shows.

  • 4/5 Josh O. 1 year ago on Google
Last weekend we had the opportunity to visit @howloscream at @buschgardens and we had a blast! The haunted houses were very well produced and can easily compete to those from @horrornightsorl The only downside was that it felt more crowded and lines were longer as there is only 5 houses vs. 10 that @horrornightsorl offers. So a fast pass is highly recommended if you plan on visiting all the houses. Also, there were less food options outside of the traditional food venues which had very long lines as well. Here is a TIP if you wish to save some time in food lines: stop by the the Giraffe Bar in the Serengeti Plain area which is on the 2nd floor. Drinks and food were pretty good there and lines were much shorter Overall, @howloscream was super fun! Houses and rides were awesome. We would say rides are probably even better than @universalorlando if you like thrill roller-coasters. Food options are a bit more limited tho and lines are long, specially as we get closer to Halloween...so keep those things in mind before going Visit @orlandotravelfoodies for more reviews and tips of local attractions and restaurants!!!

I love Buchs Garden! This was an amazing experience! Little bit not well organized regarding to the parking and guiding visitors but overall great . We are platinum members and still we were not able to park closer even we have already prepaid for that . Long lines everywhere, so my advice get your skip the line pass if you wanna see all 5 hounted houses .Otherwise you have to wait long time . It's bit pricey but worth it! Make sure you eat before going ,lines for food are crazy ! Download your map so it will be easier for you to see everything. Great experience! Love it !

Busch Gardens did an excellent job! This was my first time to Busch Gardens in Tampa. I went specifically for the Howl-A-Scream. I did not go on any of the rides. They offered 5 Haunted Houses with different themes. Then the walk areas also were decorated and have people jumping out at you. The decorations were over the top good!!! The first con is the ridiculous amount of money they charge for parking ($40) although it is cheaper to pay for it as a bundle with your admission ticket. The second con is that the wait times are similar to ride wait time. 50-60 minutes! But overall a great time. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR SMALL KIDS!! Too scary.
