The luxury care-free camping was an incredible experience, from the smooth check-in/check-out process to the amenities to the beauty of the park itself. We chose to try this out particularly because it is a pet-friendly option and we are not “camping people” per se. The bed was very comfortable and even for being a true outdoors experience, we didn’t have any unwelcome creepy-crawlies. The bathrooms in the campsite area are extremely well-kept and showers get hot and have great water pressure. We saw red-tailed hawks, a kestrel, fox squirrels, a gator, lots of butterflies, and even a paw paw while hiking! Wish we could’ve stayed longer and can’t wait to go back.

Wow, what a fantastic park! I may be generous with my ratings but let me tell you Lake Louisa truly earned 5 stars!! Yet again I lucked out and got the best campsite in the park, capacity at the campsite full of campers but out space was surrounded by trees backing up to Dixie Lake so we really didn't notice anyone else around. The park is so big we needed some other transport to get around, but that is part of the beauty of this park. The winding park road going up some nice little hills which had incredible views on the way to and from the the campsite. There is every possible activity (except for gun range) you can think of, kayaks, canoes, bike rentals, and even segue tours which I wanted to try. There was so much nature, we had a big old Alligator hanging out right behind our campsite spotted hawks and owls and even a few gopher tortoises! So one last word is be careful driving in the park we saw several tortoises walking along the road and want to watch out for the little guys!! Right off RTE 27, about 40 min away from Disney world, Lake Louisa might be the best resort option if visiting the Orlando Parks...and still want to enjoy some natural beauty of Florida.

This place is awesome. Whether you're going on a run, hole, bike ride, or camping. It never disappoints. We wanted to go for just an hour to get a little exercise in and we ended up staying 20 minutes more. We had such a great time. The trails are abundant and are shaded in some areas. Make sure to bring plenty of water and drink away your way. We will definitely be back.

A wonderful state park that’s landscape is more Midwest prairie than what one thinks of belonging to Florida. All types of overnight accommodations, camping, glamping and cabins. Multiple lakes with miles of trails. Restrooms were always nearby and there is a decent playground for kids. Kayak and SUP rentals as well as guided horseback riding. Definitely will be back. I don’t have a dog, but saw many people with dogs and cats on leashes enjoying the park.

The kiddos call the beach at Lake Louisa, wine beach. The water is red and you can’t see the sandy bottom. That makes me a bit nervous especially seeing the “gators in the water” signs. It’s surrounded by tall grass and reeds and stays shallow a long way out giving lots of room for smaller kids to play. There’s a big playground and soft sand. A bit of shade off to the sides with picnic tables and BBQ grills. We like to hike with a purpose and the rangers sponsor GEO Caches throughout the park (ask for the sheet when you enter). Bring plenty of water it gets warm walking in the sun all year round. We have kayaked Dixie Lake (rentals on site). It’s fine for beginners with no motorboats. It a small round lake and takes an hour to paddle around it. Lots of lily pads and two neighborhood gators in residence. $5 for a day pass is worth it for an easy hike and quick dip to cool off.

Visited the park for 2 days for the ACA Level 2 kayak touring leader training. Great cabins, very friendly staff and terrific wildlife viewing (deer, gopher tortoises, numerous species of birds and butterflies). Had a great time and will return!

Loved this park! We were there in early Feb for a quick weekend getaway. The views are of the cabin #17. Very spacious and I was quite surprised that it had a coffee maker, dishwasher, and oven. It also has two bathrooms which are convenient when you are with a large family. We did kayak on Saturday and horseback riding on Sunday. Reservation is recommended for most activities. There are coupons on Groupon for 1 single person kayak. We needed the tandem so we could not use that coupon. Highly recommend this beautiful state park! I forgot that it includes ac/heating 🙂 Listing the prices of the available activities

We enjoyed our 3 night stay on site#18. We got lucky with full hook up site! I loved the privacy at our site with trees and bushes surrounding us. It was a quiet and spacious setting. We had a short 30 minute drive to Disney Springs.

Wow! Would love to come back and explore more. Only had time to check out one trail around Hammond Lake-- entrance to this trail where either to the right of the dock at a gate or inside the camping area @ an unmarked section next to a campsite (a few sites in from the parking at the dock)... that appears to be pretty open leading to a path... old orange groves and pretty views of the lake, nicely kept path through the well-kept grassy area. All the way around is a rather short walk! Next time-- we will camp, kayak, paddle-board, fish, maybe do some horse- back riding.... :) So much there to see and do. Only $5 entry fee just to spend the day exploring!

Beautiful Lakes surrounded with greenery. Best staying in cabins, but good facilities for camping too. Very clean and safe escape. Enjoy being close to nature while still having access to a comfortable stay in 2 bedroom 2 bath cabins with all facilities. Make sure to book in advance for horse back riding, kayaking , Segway etc...

My husband booked us a 2 night stay in one of the parks "Glamping Tent Sites" and WOW!! We were so impressed with how fun and beautiful the park was! Definitely coming back and soon! We were welcomed by the park rangers at the front gate and given a map and directions to the site with landmarks. We were site #1 right across from the canteen. And a short walk to the bathrooms/showers/laundry. Our beautiful glamping tent was super roomy! A two person bed, Keurig, window unit/ optional heater, two chairs, and bedside tables. Remote controlled indoor and outdoor lights were perfect for setting the ambiance. We enjoyed a campfire in the provided fire ring . And had the option to cook with a charcoal grill. The park had miles and miles of hiking trails that also accommodate bikes and horses! Water activities like canoeing and kayaking or paddle boarding for renting ! All in all, the park was so clean and well maintained. We had a 10 out of 10 experience and can't wait to come back !

Beautiful park in Clermont. We stayed in the cabins along Dixie Lake, and we loved waking up to that view. Unfortunately, we had some bad weather come through, but the little we were able to enjoy was enough for me to want to go back and explore the rest. I would highly recommend this park

Beautiful and big! Lots of different trails and activities to do here. From hiking, canoeing, kayaking, bike rentals to horse riding, its easy to spend a day of fun here. Restrooms are at certain locations, and there's concession stores somewhere in the park for snacks and drinks.

Such a great variety of things to do here! We are frequent hikers but when we visited the first time we had some older folks with us so we weren't sure what to expect for them. Happily there was a place where we could park and take a walk that wasn't very far at all and see some spectacular views of the lake, huge trees and marshy areas. There are lovely picnic tables spaced far apart and we had a pleasant picnic lunch right next to the lake and the older folks didn't have to walk real far. Went back the next day by ourselves and had a great time hiking. Excellent state park, highly recommended.

Beautiful beautiful beautiful place. God's creation is amazing. This place had a lot to offer, many miles of trails, nice beach area, plenty of fishing spots, primitive tent camping, a campground for RV's or tents, Yurts for glamping, horseback trails n rentals with guides, canoe and kayak rentals and more. We saw at least 10 dear feeding around dusk on one of the trails, just a hundred yards off the road or so. We loved it ❤

I had the pleasure of being a part of the 6:00 trail ride for my birthday. It was nothing short of spectacular! The tour guide was very fun with fun riddles during the ride and very informative information about the park’s history. We ended our ride with champagne and a charcuterie board and s’mores. It was a pure delight and I am sure to return! Thank you for an amazing experience!

It was a really good experience for my husband’s birthday we went glamping. Very beautiful place. Only a 4/5 because our canvas tent I’m pretty sure it had mold and our lights went out in the middle of the night 😂 so no heater or lights but other than that worth it. Beautiful park

Glamping review: As someone who had never been camping, I wanted to have a little bit of "luxury" like air conditioning, outlets, and access to showers, so this really hit the mark. The tent had a romantic vibe, stayed pretty cool throughout the day & night, and slept 2 people comfortably. The bathhouse was very clean. We had easy access to the canteen for bike and kayak rentals (booked in advance). I'm rating 4 instead of 5 stars because the canvas of the tent was dirty on the outside. It's outdoor, so dirt is expected, but I think they should be doing more maintenance on it to avoid this, just like you would if you had white outdoor furniture. We definitely want to come back and try the cabins!

Family loves to come here to hike and swim. This is a hidden local gem. The cabins are awesome, well worth it. They have horse camp sites that we have not used but they look awesome.

This hidden gem just of Rt. 27 is a beautiful retreat back to nature. Once inside you will not hear the yelling or screaming of the inner city nor the sounds of cars flying by. The only sounds you'll hear is nature at its finest. After you pay the $5.00 to go in (used to maintain the grounds), you'll travel along a beautiful nature trail. There are plenty of areas to go through and get lost in nature. You can bike ride and picnic too. Lake Louisa makes a great escape from the bustling sounds of city life.

We took a guided horse tour and wow was it amazing! We accidentally booked the wrong day, drove down to the canteen and they were able to promptly reschedule us for the SAME DAY! amazing. Abbie and Candace were our guides and they were seriously so sweet and assuring. They made sure we all were comfortable and were having a great time! The horses were sweet and all the stalls were clean. I 1000/10 recommend to everyone to experience the horseback riding of lake louisa!

We stayed a couple nights at the campground in our camper van. This park is well-protected, secure and maintained. The campsites were spaced enough to have privacy. The bathrooms and laundry facility were maintained daily. My husband and I enjoyed biking and running in the park as the roads were wide. We will definitely set up camp here again. Thank you for a great camping experience!

Absolutely loved exploring Lake Luisa. A five dollar fee for entrance and you can spend your whole day enjoying hiking the different trails, enjoying beach they have, kayaking or canoeing and even horseback riding! We simply walked around the trails and felt safe and saw a lot of beautiful nature from different plants to a family of dears. Very nice and clean trails

We took my 4 year old and 7 year old and really enjoyed our time. We live very close by so we stayed only 1 night as it was their first camping experience. The glamping was so great! We got site #2 and it was wonderful....had everything we needed. Unfortunately we had some rain so it prevented us from doing as much as we wanted but we did get to explore and make a campfire. The tent fit us all nicely, the bed was actually really comfortable and the AC was a huge bonus. Bathrooms were very close by and it was actually a very quiet area. We would love to go back again.

Tons of green space and areas to be calm or active. Walking trails to cyclist riding throughout the park. Camp ground is nice. We only stayed one night. It’s a popular camping destination. Everyone we encountered was nice.

We stayed in Cabin 17 for 2 nights, our parents stayed in the campground with an RV. The cabin was perfect for us to host dinner, fire pit, and game nights. We highly recommend the cabins. We live 25 mins away and felt like we were far from home!

The ranger said if you enter the lake you will feel like swimming in a hot tea. I thought he is kidding. But he was right. I felt like in a tea. Very warm water in the summer. Beautiful small beach. Hikes are very hot. Was very cool overall.

Great place to get out and enjoy nature. I went here with my son for a Valentines day hike . I loved how "old Florida" this place felt. We enjoyed seeing natures tea in the lakes and saw quite a few birds. There are 10 lakes in the park, And we seen a few small fish near the shore of Lake Louisa itself. There was a lot of spanish moss on the trees and even though it's still winter right now, some flowers are blooming. We didn't see any wildlife, but with the amount of people here I wouldn't expect to. Overall I'd rate this park a 9/10 Only because there are so many trails that intertwine and overlap. If you're not paying attention you could end up taking a longer walk than intended. Other than that this place is wonderful.

I stayed in a tent her with my Mum this weekend and had a lovely time. It is such a nice break from the norm and the facilities are all top notch. There was quite a few kids which we didn’t mind. We went kayaking which was $55 for 2 hours for a double kayak which isn’t bad. The lake is private to the camping area. You have a Walmart and all major restaurants near by in Clermont and Disney although close on a map will take you 45 mins from the park. Highly recommend for younger to middle age crowds it might be too noisy for older folk.

I tried glamping for the 1st time & kayaked on Lake Hammond. Fun! I didn't think the trails were very well marked ( maybe some numbers had fallen off posts?). Or else I am not as experienced as many - I got a bit lost, even though I have a good sense of direction!

We stayed at the campground for a few days and it was very relaxing.. The park offers a range of activities like the “Segway Trail Tour”. Which starts with a quick Segway riding training course and then a guided trail ride. The ranger is friendly and knowledgeable. It was definitely worth the $40. They also offer guided horse trail rides.. Lots of wildlife and I was pleasantly surprised that I didn’t get bit up by mosquitoes. I can’t wait to come back for a girls weekend at the cabins!

The park is beautiful. I love the sunset parking area. The lake is very nice. I like the fact that the gate is closed at night. Only the campers with a code can enter the park after the gate is closed. We had a problem with our electric. It worked when we first arrived but after a while we went for a walk and when we got back we had no power. I called the park office and they sent a ranger. She tested all the outlets and told us there was no power. She done some things and when she put all the wires back on and turned it on we heard a pop. So she said I guess I got the wires on wrong. In the mean time my husband and I and our 96 pound German Shepard are sitting in the very hot sun.The ranger told us she hadn't taken the class for wiring a gfi plug. She got it all put back together and it worked. When she plugged our cord back in it sparked. She said that was normal. After she left we left the site for about 2 hours. When we returned it was late. We turned on the fan for the dog and it sparked. We saw sparkes from the box. My husband said it didn't seem safe so we called the same number and got no answer. Even through the ranger had told us some one would answer the phone at any time. We had ask her to change sites and she said no. We left and found a hotel . Paid $110.00 . We decided to drive home the next day.. we paid for 2 nights and never got to enjoy the park. . That told me no one drives through the park to check on the camper at night. . I ask for a refund and was told we could have stayed at our site. We are both in our late 60s and didn't feel safe. The should have sent an electrician.

I spent Mother's day glamping and it was so nice. Very quiet and peaceful. The tent was nice and the bed was comfortable. AC kept it reasonably cool during the heat of the day, definitely worked at night so I slept comfortably. My only complaint was the opening. The zippers are broken and they only had a couple clips to keep it shut. Thankfully the mosquitoes weren't bad at all so I didn't have any visitors inside with me. Also pleasantly surprised by seeing fireflies that night next to my site. Overall a great experience.

Had a nice quiet day here with our family. Perfect place to paddle board and picnic. There was a little park for the kids and the water was super shallow. Only scary thing is that there are gators present in the waters so you have to be very alert if you’re swimming. We didn’t see any but a local told us there was one there the day before. Also, if you look along the trail to the beach you can see lots of creepy spiders! Super cool place to visit if you’re into mother natures wonderful creations!

A beautiful good size state park with a 60 site campground right off a major highway. Campsites are very well maintained with decent vegetation separation between them. Bath houses are clean and have the essentials. Kayaks and bicycles can be rented at the small camp store, which has a limited selection of food and souvenirs, as well as firewood for sale. Horse-back tours are offered with reservations. There are several hiking trails and a lake front beach area on Lake Louisa that we didn't make it to. We stayed several nights and it was very quiet. Alligators frequent the fishing pier at Hammond Lake. I saw several people fishing but no one reported catching anything. There are several picnic areas scattered throughout the park. A very relaxing experience.

I went there for about 2 hours for a good hike and it was absolutely beautiful and the park is very close to wear i live so I'm definitely coming back! The lady that gave us the day ticket was very nice and she seemed to be in a great mood because the weather was cool and sunshine-y 😁 and it was. One thing that I'm happy about is the amount of bathrooms that they have lol it seems like they are around every corner which is good when you have to pee 😆

An amazing State Park. Once you pull in it's like being in another state. Landscape is beautiful. Great place for photography. Camp ground is ok. Not much shade. Bathhouses are clean and modern. Only complaint is there is only one playground. Update: I spent the day hiking the trails. Scenery and wildlife was amazing. Only complaint is some of the farther out trails are not marked well.

I was so amaze of a beautiful park. I had the chance to explore the bike trails. I recommend this place you are going to enjoy it alone or with your family. Near the Louisa Lake there is a playground for kids you can have your pets with leash. It has clean restrooms, tables and parking. Wonderful place to have a photo shoot. I had the chance while biking to see a deer. Remember there are gators on the lake, please caution with kids.

Stayed at a primitive site with my son. Area was clear and close enough to pack stuff in and out on a couple of trips. Lots of owl and coyote action during the night. Downsides are you pay 9 bucks a bag for firewood. They do not allow you to burn fallen logs. Save yourself some money and bring your own wood.
