They leave you waiting in the patient room for almost an hour with a promise to be back quickly or in 10 minutes tops. They forget about you and then blame you for waiting that long instead of apologizing. That happened to my husband and I twice already. They have terrible communication skills. I truly dread going there every week. They are so unprofessional it's unbelievable. I have never experienced that poor of health care in my life. I DO NOT recommend this place at all. There are restaurants rated higher than this hospital. How sad it that!. My personal experience has been with the "OB Emergency Labor and Delivery Unit", on the 3rd floor. As I am 8 and a half months pregnant and hight risk. I'm currently look elsewhere to deliver my baby as I doubt they are competent enough to perform their jobs. Run people!

Common courtesy and professionalism is rare. My mother was admitted several days and many times after a change of shift, the new nurse would come in the room and just straight to the computer without even a greeting or introduction. Many times I had to ask them who they were and what was their name. Also, one nurse was ok with me staying overnight with my mom to assist her, the next day the other nurse kicked me out because it was after visiting hours. Can everyone please be on the same page. Lack of friendliness, kindness, and just a smile. Seems like everyone is just too focused on getting a job done and have forgotten about the actual people involved. Human connection, care, and kindness should be the priority.

My boyfriend was admitted here for a broken humerus bone. The sense of urgency just doesn’t exist. The nurses don’t return for hours or even come back when you ask for them. They just keep you in the dark completely. He was supposed to receive surgery the first day then the second then third and then day of he just doesn’t need it anymore.. the doctors are in and out, very frantic and don’t want to be bothered with questions or concerns. Very minimal information and just poor treatment from everyone in the facility. 0/10 do not recommend.

It’s very disheartening to see how little they care about people here. You’ll hear more about gossip in the hallways than you will about your own problems/symptoms. Be prepared for a very long wait time regardless of the emergency. Quickest you’ll get a room is about 2 hours and that’s when they barely have patients. I’m 21 weeks pregnant, came in for sudden dizziness and racing heart and they treated me like a waste of space. Put me in a room and took my blood pressure and did blood work. Left the trash from the blood work on top of me. They listened to the baby and didn’t clean up the gel…just left it there and I didn’t notice until I went to the bathroom. After 2 hours of waiting on my blood work I asked them what’s the ETA and the nurse told me they lost my blood work and looking for it….excuse me???? Not only did I NOT talk to a single doctor but you lost my blood work and didn’t say anything??? So unprofessional. So lazy. So disappointing. A person could collapse and die here and they wouldn’t blink an eye. These nurses are only there for a check and it shows. What a lousy excuse for healthcare.

If I could rate this hospital 0 stars I definitely would. I come to get seen and get checked in at 5am. Been waiting for about 2 hours. There were people walking in the ER after me and being seen before me even though I told them my pain was a 8 out of a 10. They are inconsiderate and give you no indication why the long wait. There was literally THREE people ahead of me in the ER when i got checked in. Didnt even get to be seen by a DR because of the fact its been 2 hours. No type of update on whats the delay. Horrible place of business. The receptionist was nice though and the lady that took my vitals.

Had surgery today. The operating room staff has been amazing but my recovery nurse is terrible. Hit my button twice in over 5 hrs and have been made to feel like an utter inconvenience because I can't pee. I've had no food since yesterday at 6, have not been offered any, and my nurse hasn't responded to my second push and it's been 30 minutes at least. I literally heard the beeping get turned off and listened to her continue her conversation. Bedside manner a zero! The operating staff and my amazing surgeon Dr. Hahn are the only reason this place got 3 stars.

From the moment I walked in the door until I left the next day I have never been treated better or more professionally with a caring seldom found anymore. The staff on all levels were exceptional and made me feel like I was the only patient. From the time I met Sara checking in to be prepped for surgery until released from the 7th floor on Saturday I was so impressed with the doctors, nurses, receptionist and housekeeping. Thank them all from the bottom of my heart. My daughter Brooke Coleman had told me how great the people were there (she worked on 6) and she was so right. You all are the gold standard for hospitals. Thank you so much Lawrence Reed

Husband still in the hospital. They say he needs this test done. Radiology never around test pushed back a day and next no one to read it. What a freaking joke. He is supposed to have a procedure was told one day and still not scheduled. Sorry I am extremely upset on how this hospital being is run. If you say a procedure needs to be done schedule so the patient doesn’t have to stay any longer than necessary. All I see is them milking my insurance company. Extremely unhappy Spode. I will never come back even if it is the last hospital. The nurses are fabulous with one exception one nurse was extremely rude and rough that she bent the IV in my spouse’s arm. That’s told unacceptable.

This place is so slow. We've been here for hours. The doctors already gave my mother the medication and should have sent her home. Mind we live 3 hours away and it's 1:00am. We began at 7:30pm. They are either horribly understaffed or just simply to worried about the wrong things. The nurse's station is basic desert. If it weren't for the nice nurse who was doing her best to get things going, I'd have lost my mind. I'd rather just die at home. Thank you.

I had to bring my daughter in because she was having a lot pain that isn’t normal with pregnancy. Well I have my granddaughter with me and they told us she wasn’t allowed back in the room. What if it was just the 2 of them would they refuse to see my daughter until someone picked up my granddaughter?!?

Truthfully the worst ER experience I’ve ever had. I had a kidney stone lodged into my bladder sending me into septic shock. I was in extreme pain and when placing my urinary catheter the nurses were snickering back and forth…one asked “how do you know if it’s placed properly” and the other replied “I don’t know but I shoved it all the way up there” thinking I wouldn’t remember the conversation. Then after being released I had a freak accident fracturing my skull to which I had another hospital stay with Baycare. Night and day difference. I then called LRH to ask for financial assistance, (I am a single mother and not being able to work with two hospital trips within a month really effected me financially). Even when notifying them of what is going on I was threatened to be sent to collections if I didn’t pay the amount THEY set up. Extremely disappointed with this establishment. I’ve never had a late payment in my life until this year and even when asking for help I was made to feel horrible about it. If I could give negative stars for this place I would.

This hospital is very unprofessional. My dad went to the ER and has been there for over 72hrs. I live in another state so I can not just show up and see how he is doing!. Yes, he has a phone but it died because we didn't plan for him to be there that long!. I have tried to call the emergency room over 20 times! Every time I get the nurse she's with another patient and transfers me to a line where all it does is ring!. This not okay! I'm scared something is wrong with my dad, as he has heart problems!. They need to change how they are running things there!.

ER was horrific. I felt like another number not patient. The trauma for me was when I was called back from the lobby to a shared room by a curtain. So NO PRIVACY!! The couple in the other half of the room next to me heard EVERYTHING! I was treated even worse when I clearly advised “I DO NOT CONSENT” for a particular procedure. The nurse attempting to poke me with an IV needle multiple times showed no respect, no empathy. She was angry like I was a bother for being a patient with fine veins! Also when did hospitals stop wearing colorful scrubs? The doctors / nurses were all wearing a black T-shirt with Hospital name-logo & gray pants. 👀 It was a creepy ER unit for sure. Something in my gut told me to get out of this hospital or I would die and I did. Ran out of this hospital like a bat out of hell.

Tied my wife to bed then right front me had interns being taught how tie patient down to bed that she was already sedated. Because to lazy check on her make sure was sedated. When started waking up told nurse she just shrugged her shoulders like oh well. Then tells my wife making he actually work today.Treated like a flippin dog. Then when took her ICU told me sanitizing room ever had fit 2 hours later found out lied to me whole time. Rather die street then ever walk in this piece garbage hospital.

Amazing service. I was seen within 5 minutes after I entered the ER, twice. The doctors treated me like family and made sure everything was taken care of. They are phenomenal at their job and it shows. The food on the other hand was atrocious. Manager of dining needs to be fired. Two diffrent dishes, two different hairs. It tasted like the food was boiled in a bag and undercooked. All in all, great providers for the city of Lakeland.

I wish I had seen these ratings before I started getting care here. Heed the warnings..... My story - I need treatment once a month. The first two years-ish was great. Sign in, do labs, see Dr, get treatment, go home. Then one day they refused my treatment because I had a balance on my account. I'm not sure how. Maybe they forgot to ask me for my co-pay when I signed in? I talked to my Dr. and she said she would speak to the board. The Dr. told the board that I am not getting life saving treatment because of a few dollars. No change. I will not get the treatment until the balance is zero. Either way, I paid it and got treatment. A few months later, they refused treatment again. Same reason. I had a balance of less than $2.00 and they refused life saving treatment. It only got worse and I could go on but I hope I've made my point. I'm not sure where patient care is on their list, but they have proven that it falls well below finance. Edit: When I reached out to another provider to transfer my care to them, they asked that I request records to be sent from LRMC. Well that should be easy. I stopped in and signed the release form. I asked LRMC to send it three times. All three times the new provider states they have not received anything.

Nurse Misty Keiffer has no sense of empathy. My baby was hospitalized there for 3 days and I had a terrible experience with her. I would expect nurses would have integrity and a sense of humanity to deal with critical situations. My baby was intensive care in pediatrics and she was not nice at all.

I had to bring my wife to the emergency room since she had a strong pain in her back and was 5 weeks pregnant and we had to wait more than nine hours for the doctor to see her. This hospital is garbage and the worst thing is that it is the only one..😡😡

I was extremely hesitant about having surgery here due to the star rating and reviews, but this was one of the few locations in my insurance network. I had faith in my surgeon and decided to do it. Wow! I was pleasantly surprised! From the beautiful facility to the professional, kind, caring staff, the preop through discharge experience was top notch! Highly recommended!

Took our daughter into pediatric ER she was showing signs of Covid and exposed at summer camp. Found the staff to be excellent from the front desk to the nurse, and physician assistant etc. The ER was clean not very busy. They were kind considerate professional. I know many have had a bad experience but not us. I was very pleased by the exact opposite. The hospital was clean and organized. We thank all of our health care professionals who are usually over worked. We had been at Watson Clinic first in the Highlands which did not take our daughters insurance and a bit usual there as usually they are great, but the front desk person there was not very nice. We are glad we chose to go to Lakeland Regional. Thank you staff!

I had an okay experience here a couple weeks back. I am now comfortable and ready to come out with my experience. After trying to call the hospital and report this incident and them not reaching out to me i figured this was a way to not only get their attention but to also letting people know thag if you or someone you know gets assulated do not bring them here. I was transported to this hospital I had a doctor and a nurse help me with my visit after being assualted. They knew i had a really bad experience with the other hospitals and knew the reasons for being transported the doctor was amazing he was kind and very understanding and helped as much as he could the nurse on the other hand was horrible she was the worst when she was doing my kit and taking care of everything she would tell me I owe her five bucks , a brain, and a cookie after this and that even though she has never had this happen to her that she believes everything happens for a reason and was telling me that she was tired and exhausted and asking what happened to me and wanting to know my story and was making me very uncomfortable I couldn't ask for anyone else even when she was aggressive because they said she is the only one that was able to.perform the kit. I felt alone and trapped she made it the worst experience for me. It would have been better but with something so vulnerable and a scary time to happen to anyone that is not the way you handle a situation.

ER is a joke. Employees are rude. Ended up at fast track Thank the Lord. Fast track department is the most amazing people! Love em! If the ER nurses had any of the kind and loving and sweet people working there things would change a lot.

Rude, incompetent staff. I came by ambulance and was put in a waiting room. My concerns were not taken seriously. There is nurse there that is very rude with zero bedside manner or basic customer service skills. When I get her name I will add it to review. Several of the staff had an attitude or rolled their eyes at questions. There were people waiting for over 3 hours in an emergency room, that seems like a great idea right?! They use the excuse that they are understaffed but they are just inefficient and incompetent. Have been to other hospitals that were understaffed and the wait was not as long, I would rather drive out of town if I have another medical emergency rather than deal with these clowns. Also, the place is filthy

My mom was admitted to the 7th floor of the D wing. She arrived at 9pm. After several room changes they finally got her settled around 3:30am. I arrived the next mornig. The staff was was awesome and answered any questions I had. Fast forward to day 2. I again arrived at the hospital and there had been no response from the nurse or Dr on duty. I had to request to speak to the nurse in charge of my mom's case. I asked her status, if they were going to release her or keep her overnight as per the possibility from the nurse the day before. This nurse who knows Drs orders supposedly didn't bother too check her records to let us know she was being released. I decided to return home to Bradenton since she wasn't going to be released for several days. As I arrive home I get a call saying they are releasing her. Tristen knew she was being released and acted like she didn't know anything. I am beyond angry that Tristen couldn't be bothered to look at my mom's chart and tell us what was going on. My mom was dismissed at 3:15pm and again this nurse couldn't be bothered to request a wheel chair to leave until after 5:30pm. My aunt had to get someone else to find a wheel chair so she could leave. Again with absolutely no instructions on what to do when she left the hospital. This nurse has proved inefficient. I am grateful that she wasn't there during my mom's procedure. Otherwise I still may be wondering what happened. As it was I didn't get to talk to the physician about her medical care because a nurse (who really should be in another field due to the mask, gloves and COVID protection gear) can't either be bothered or doesn't know how to answer simple questions.

Deserves no stars terrible hospital who doesn't care for patients doctors or nurses who makes them sicker due to negligence and eventually kills them like they did my mother which was my world my family and mines not the only one they have done this too and gotten away with it i have proof in records and consultation and they probably got paid in the process which is more than likely how all these new buildings have and are magically going up from that COVID money they received from doing so! This hospital can grow all day and never amount to being a good hospital due to lack of care and staff and by the looks of these reviews from Others I'm not the only one who feels this way!Im not sure how people sleep at night knowing what they do to peoples loved ones.

I find it despicable that they put patients in rooms that was once used as the psych ward. There are no showers in the room. The patient has to walk down the hallway to use a shower that other patients use. Very unsafe and unsanitary practice. Also, no window on the door. Very unsafe especially with patients whose lungs are diseased. Building D the fifth floor needs to be renovated or closed down permanently. How can a CEO think those rooms are appropriate for use? The CEO, CFO and members of the Board need to do better. It's appalling an inexcusable.

I was hospitalized here in Nov. 2021 and it was a traumatizing, awful experience. Bedside manner is nonexistent, these people don’t care about anyone. I have cardiac issues and at the time didn’t know for sure what was going on. After some testing, they told me it’s not my heart and nothing is wrong when my EKGs are abnormal and I experience severe, radiating chest pain. Because I am in my early 20s, I believe that’s part of why they ended up not caring. The cardiologist was so bad, he had no plan on what to do to help me. I was prescribed opioids instead… the nurses would come in and push morphine and other strong drugs into my IV without telling me at night and I also had worsening chest pain and high tachycardia from a med and they tried telling me it was my anxiety. I eventually found out that I do have heart conditions and this place is negligent and I wouldn’t trust them. It’s sad how the healthcare system in general is, avoid this ER if you can.
