It's free! It's so cool you can dig for fossils and shark's teeth outside but bring a shovel. You could actually bring a metal shovel if you want but the kids had plastic ones or a stick to get down deeper so you can get some good teeth. Inside the museums are really cool. There's a red rail car you can walk into. It's a little stuffy but it's cool to be able to see the inside of a train. Definitely wanting to go back and even for adults if you're into like sharks teeth and fossils it's just a really cool experience just to dig in that huge pile of stone. I could have added more pictures but that would take away some of the interest in going and seeing it in person!!

Wonderful, free museum in Mulberry. Small, but great local history. Old train car. Two galleries and a big local fossil display. Staff was friendly and helpful. Bathrooms outside by parking.

Friendly lady who answered any questions we had. Nice lay out of 3 different rooms. Enjoyed the local history of Mulberry! Our little boys enjoyed the train car! That was a fun touch. Of course the highlight for the boys was digging for shark teeth! Very nice little town museum. Easy parking. Clean restrooms. So glad we added it to our weekend!

The museum is small but really cool and informative. Every one of the staff were extra friendly. It's not fancy or well manicured but worth a quick trip. The kids can dig through rocks to find fossils and shark teeth. They have bathrooms and nice cold water available.

We didn't expect much when we stopped at this little side road museum but we were pleasantly surprised. Having a Geologist in our midst helped but the information was accurate and we were able to view many interesting fossils. The bucket load of matrix was fun to sift through and even turned up a few treasures. This is a good brief stop for active children but bring a shovel and a change of clothes. Your amateur paleontologist will love it.

This Ana Banana...never thought I would enjoy a phosphate museum but what nice surprise. A small museum but worth going to see. If you have children bring them and bring comfortable clothing and shovel. They will be able to dig for fossil. People are friendly and answer all your questions. Out of 10 Bananas I would give it 7. Only because it's small you can see all in 1 hr. Remember to make donation as this will help support the museum. Take a tour not the train engine!!

Free entry and dig until you find a fossil in the pile. Very unique place!

The museum is free. Some good fossils, but no dinosaur bones. The train cars are nice, but not much to them. Best part was the fossil dig outside in the drag line bucket. They got a new pile of rock on 3/25/19, so hit them up to find lots of sharks teeth, coral, impression fossils, bone fragments, and stingray teeth. The lady working there was very knowledgeable, too!

I promise this museum will not be what you're expecting. Well curated displays, friendly staff, well preserved specimens; The Phosphate Museum is a quality visit. There are three rooms (some made from Boxcars!) and a tour of a Caboose. Thr massive case full of fossils and casts was impressively designed and not expected from what we thought might have been just a tiny museum. From the donors page and the case of items on loan this place has a lot ofnlove and it is easy to see why.

Free museum in an old train station and train cars, full of fossils, bones, and other interesting displays. History of Phosphate mines. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. And a pile of stones and fossils to dig through, too. Bring a hand shovel !

Go see the locally discovered fossils and various bugs / butterfly specimen. Learn the history of the train station and the museum contents. Then, find your own marine fossils while excavating in the pile outdoors. Bring a lunch, excavating tools, and enjoy your day. If you forget lunch, go to McDonald's on the hill. I have visited there for more than 20 years.

This place was extremely lackluster. When I visited this museum, I didn't know what to expect, but the exhibits were pitiful, and the air conditioning unit didn't work at all. This trip, made with my classmates for a school project, was absolutely miserable and unenjoyable. I wouldn't recommend it.

What an outstanding Museum for the young and old alike. My Grandson and I visited today and had a blast exploring the various fossils and artifacts in the museum. Digging and sifting through the gravel looking for shark teeth and fossils is a lot of fun. Bonnie met us at the door and gave a very nice tour of the facility. There is definitely an upcoming return trip in the book. Kudos!

Nice little museum, some very cool bones and fossils. The shark tooth dig was disappointing, I remember taking my children 20 years ago and they were able to find quite a few. This time it was really hard and the kids lost interest pretty quick.

Very nice little museum near city hall. The two women working there were very nice. A lot of history, information, and a place for kids to dig for special rocks or shark teeth. My one year old loves it. :)

A nice little side visit with some really cool displays and a rock pile you can find shark teeth and fossils in. It won't take you long to go through all there is to see but if you're in the area and looking for something free to do it's a good place to make a pit stop.

This museum is small, super cute and educational. However, don't show up during their lunch hour or you'll get a nasty attitude, with a smile, for it if you question why its taking so long. And not even within ear shot of the person, who was clearly watching the cameras while she ate her lunch. I see you 👀 Not a nice way to treat a local. Did not appreciate the snide remark as she was finally letting us in the store section.

Great little piece of Florida history. My daughter went there for a school field trip. We learned a lot more about Florida than we expected. Also a Neat little dig site for finding miscellaneous fossils after your tour. As well as a very small gift shop if you don't feel like playing in the dirt. Staff was very friendly and seemingly knowledgeable. It's not a big place so don't set your expectations high and you will enjoy it.

It's quiet, interesting, small and worth taking some time to really check out the artifacts! I found two small sharks teeth on the dredge pile!

It's on the small size but wonderful. They now have a train (engine) on display from the late 1800's. They dug this up I think in 2013. It was buried by phosphate miners and forgotten. They have fossils on display from animals that have long since vanished. They have a place for kids to dig for fossils. If your in the area it's really worth a look. It's right behind the police station. Headed from Lakeland into Mulberry, past the railroad tracks on the left. People have different views on the phosphate industry...But the history that lives in this museum need not be fought over.

We always have an excellent time as a family and this time we brought our Girl Scout Troop! They did a tour of the museum, shark teeth hunting in the pit and then walked over to the Cultural center to do an art project + view the gallery!

Fun for my 5, 6, and 7 year old boys. We enjoyed looking at fossils and digging for shark teeth. They each left with a few!! Laid back atmosphere, self-guided, and free! Sharks, dinosaurs, and trains, perfect afternoon.
