This was an amazing experience. The entrance and communication prior to arrival was great and everyone in my group (3 adults, two kids, and one baby) felt amazing and full afterwards. We arrived for the 10 a.m. Mayan cooking class and were celebrating our anniversary with this special experience. We felt connected to every portion of the cooking class and learned a lot about the history and traditions of this community. My husband said it was the most amazing experience of our whole Yucatán vacation. My children tried and ate everything. It was amazing. I 110% recommend booking a reservation for this experience. We paid our balance in cash and shopped their handmade clothes as well. We can't wait to return and check out their dinner and overnight accomodations in the future. We booked two weeks in advance and attended a Tuesday cooking class.

This was simply the best experience we had at the Yucatan Peninsula. Couldn't recommend this more! The Mayan village is relatively new, but the history behind it and the way it is built is super legit and awesome. They are so welcoming and kind, making sure you are extremely comfortable - really feeling part of their family. We've made a salsa to eat with the chips they made at the time, then we helped sweet Irma to shape the tortillas. They've cooked our meal on ground firepits. It is not about luxury, it is about authenticity and fraternity. It was supposed to be a 60-90 minutes experience and we ended up being there for 3 hours. Our 8yo son simply did not want to leave. Huge thanks to our friends Irma, Fernanda, Rosi, sweet little Regina and Jose. We will be back for cooking classes. Muchas gracias, mis amigos! Gracias de todo el corazon!

Absolutely incredible experience, learning from traditional cooks how to prepare family recipes from this ancient culture. If you love food, you must go here.

We had an incredible time at our Mayan cooking class at Aldea Xbatun, it was the highlight of our trip to the Yucatan. Not only are the grounds peaceful and the food absolutely delicious, the family is so kind and welcoming. I cannot recommend this experience enough!

Best experience ever!! We were looking for a Mayan experience near Valladolid and Chichen Itza, and we decided to try the lunch experience with Aldea which is only 10 mins away Valladolid and we were very happy with the experience! We arrived and we had the whole place for ourselves, we ate the best Mexican food we ate in our 10 days trip and the experience was simply amazing. I really recommend this experience to everyone, group of friends, family, young couples, children..it is a 10 points!! We were very happy with our lunch and experience!

This was, without question, the absolute highlight of our trip to the Yucatán. It was an honor and a joy to spend time with this wonderful family and to learn from their wisdom. They taught us about their culinary traditions as well as about their plants and animals and the many ways they live in harmony with the natural environment. We left feeling deeply inspired.

This was one of our top experiences in the Yucatan. We agreed that we could have spent more time there learning from Rosie and her family about the Maya, their traditional food and customs. It was just divine and we highly recommend the experience to anyone near and far. And of course the food was delicious. We left so content and our hearts full.

I have visited several of the new "Aldea Maya" projects and this one ranks near the top. A beautiful home and garden, delicious food prepared with love and dedication, and best of all, the most gracious and lovely people you could hope to spend time with. Highly recommended and if you can stay the night, by all means do that too. Sleeping out in the countryside with just the sounds of birds and crickets is magical.

WOW, this was an incredible experience!! I created a weeklong itinerary full of bucket list activities for my family's trip to the Riviera Maya and this was BY FAR the highlight of the trip. We had a great time learning how to make Sikil P'ak (a Mayan pumpkin seed dip), walking through their garden, and then watched them dig up a chicken they cooked for us in the pib (the chicken was DELICIOUS btw). I didn't really know what to expect when I booked this, but it exceeded all of our expectations. I highly recommend this to anyone visiting Chichén Itzá, Valladolid, the cenotes in the area and want to learn about Mayan cuisine/culture......go here!! You won't regret it!!

This is an amazing place to learn the traditional and sustainable way of the Mayan cuisine. We made tortillas from scratch, delicious salsas and desserts out of cacao. They are truly friendly people and gave us the feeling of being part of their family. Highly recommend!!! :)

What a wonderful experience! My nephew and I learned so much from this family. We were able to collect fresh herbs from the garden to cook with and learned to make several typical Mayan dishes. This is by far one of the best things we did in Valladolid! Not to be missed!

This is a unique experience. The family will treat you as a memeber of their family. You will learn how to cook a typical Mayan cuisine, try different dishes, mayan drinks and much more. If you are in the are of Yucatan, this is a must place to visit, not far from Valladolid or couple of hours drive from MĂ©rida.

We are deeply inspired and nourished by our time at Aldea XBatun! This brilliant Mayan community offers an experience that delights all the senses. We were able to take our time appreciating the beautiful land , get to know the foods, the process, and fill up on the love the community has for this work. Many generations are in collaboration, from children and teens who were kind and guided elements of the tour. Elder Juan took us on an ethno botanical walk where we learned different elements to the foods and herbal plants. Next time, we hope to give ourselves even more time to stay a few days as a part of their lodging services. Make sure you also eat at their restaurant in town IX BA TIK! Both experiences go hand in hand for powering up with the Mayan culture and beauty.
