My husband and I stumbled upon this adorable store while in Akumal and I absolutely fell in love with it. So much so, that when we returned the following month with friends, we brought them here as well. I was searching for a white purse the second time visiting and I asked the gal who worked there if they may have one. She holds her finger up for "one minute" and runs off to the hotel next door. It seemed like she was only gone for a split second when she returned with 3 white purses in which to choose. I was delighted. That sweetheart "ran" over to find me purses to pick. Well, I definitely fell in love with one and made the purchase. They were just so over the top nice and accommodating here. I bought an adorable purse from here the first time I visited and now the second time! I love the store and everything they sell!

Awesome little art shop by the beach

One of my family's favorite shops in Akumal: "the pink place." Lots of reasonably-priced souvenirs/folk art pieces. Most years we buy something here.

This amazing store is full of beautiful art from all over Mexico. The owner selects unique crafts from Mexican artist. The items are colorful and vibrant. The staff are friendly and make your shopping experience delightful

I was lucky enough to visit all 4 of the stores. Calling MEXICARTE a "souvenir" shop does not do it justice. Yes, they have souvenirs but it's more like an artist gallery. There are so many beautiful things. I could have spent hours just appreciating the crafts. Just GO!
