Big praise to the organizers! The fact that something like this still exists... so important in this day and age! Furnished with love, information in every language and free entry, although you can donate an amount of your choice if you like it to ensure maintenance. In Germany, pretty much everything costs something. It was nice to see that there are places in the world where education doesn't necessarily cost anything.

Very nice place to visit in Artenara to learn about life of aboriginal people of Gran Canaria. I was impressed how well the museum was put together to reflect the past by using antique furniture and items. The people working there received us with a lot of positive energy.

A small, charming, informative museum. It really helps you to imagine how people would have lived in a cave. It also has stunning views. Super friendly and helpful staff too.

Amazing find! Such an interesting free museum of how people in the past lived in caves! Désirée was the guide and she was so nice and interesting! We loved talking to her about the history and the local area. Definitely bring cash to donate as this attraction is free. If you are in Artenara deffo check it out!

Such a beautiful museum showing how people were living many years ago in Gran Canaria. How they were building houses inside mountains (caves) with different rooms and different functionality. The visit is for free but you can donate if you want. (Remember to bring cash with you). We really enjoyed the visit. Totally recommend.

It was very worth looking at the cave houses. The museum is free and furnished with many details. You could get a good impression of life in the cave houses. The lady at the entrance was very nice and explained and told us many things. You also have a great view. We give it 5 stars 🌟.

This museum is very impressive. There was no entry fee! Unimaginable for today. It was very informative and impressive how some people still live in the mountains of Gran Canaria. It is also very lovingly designed and the staff is very friendly and helpful when looking for a restaurant. It was the best excursion during our stay.

Great to see the cave house of Gran Canaria and to feel the internal environment. We visited on a very warm day and it was really cool inside the cave house. They have taken effort to recreate old functioning house. It is free with an option to donate.

A very interesting and atmospherical museum with stunning views. We were the only people there so we had the caves to ourself to explore. The staff made sure we had a pleasant time and answered our questions. The cat that lives there followed us around the whole time. Fun fact: I went to this museum in 2017 and the cat was there already - so it was nice being back. Would definitely come back and recommend. Also there is no entrance fee but you can give a little tip to support the museum.

Second time, I visit him. I find it beautiful and a good way to understand life in the Canary Islands cave houses of yesteryear. Although today there are still many inhabited.

A beautiful educational place. You feel like you've been transported back to that time. Everything was well done and very well explained in different languages. Definitely worth a visit. 5 Stars. Very nicely done and on a donation basis, thank you very much. I can 100% recommend a visit.

Artenara already has a lot of charm but the highlight of our visit was this free ethnographic museum. Guided by passionate volunteers, the visit is done independently with an existing guide in many languages (I saw some in Swedish and Finnish!). The reconstructions are very well done and, as other people have pointed out, a small coin or note at the exit is required. A great surprise.

This museum is so charming! I enjoyed it better than all the other fancy ones on the island. Because it was so down to earth with everyday living. A very cheerful and friendly guide. Birds and cat. Artefacts from olden days. Don't miss this!

This museum is unique! We were able to look at the living rooms for free. Of course we then placed a donation in the container in the entrance area.

An interesting and informative museum in an epically beautiful location. If you are interested in learning more about how people used to live on this island, this place is worth a visit. Desirée, the museum’s host, made the visit especially pleasant - She is extremely knowledgeable about Canarian history, speaks English, French and German, and is warm and welcoming. We highly recommend!

Florencia was just the perfect representative for the museum. She was just so engaging and provided so much more information. She is a credit, was so passionate about the museum, made us feel welcome. We arrived quite late in the day, just remember this 'must see' piece of history is only open to 4.30pm, so give yourself plenty of time.

So worth it! Very good sample of a cave house. The museum is free, you can leave a small donation if you want. The staff is super friendly and the space nicely represents this very unique way of living. They speak at least Spanish, English and German and have also info in other languages.

Worth seeing if not worth going to see. Small museum which only takes 30 mins max to see. Shows how people lived using caves up to the modern era.

Fascinating place, as a tourist to the island. Potentially easily missed, but gives a great insight into cave houses and traditions on the island. It would have been nice to see a very early style cave house and any more information that is available, but I was grateful for the information sheet in a range of languages.

Really nice free museum maintained by the city. Highly recommended to visit. Be weary of a guy in town who would invite you to visit his house. While we were looking for the museum around the main square by the church, a guy approached my husband and wanted us to follow him. He seemed like having some sort of mental illness, but my silly husband entertained. Long story short, we wasted 20 minutes looking through his old house built in a cave, and then he asked for money. We gave him €5

A fantastic museum with a variety of cultural items and information. The host was extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable of the history of the region. His passion was evident and he had truly created a special place. We recommend stopping at the Centro de Interpretación de Risco Caído y las Montañas Sagradas to learn a bit about the history of the region first before coming here to see and experience it.
