It amazes how the two white women posted have perfect color below. I’m African American, 4b-4c hair and the school placed me with young lady that had no idea how to do color. The day of my appointment number one they started an hour late. I showed her a picture (she didn’t really want to complete my hair color as requested). She wasn’t asking for guidance after coloring even for which shampoo to use on my hair. She left my hair DRY to the point where I couldn’t receive a straightening. I was almost in tears at that point because, the manager or whoever knew this girl wasn’t capable of doing African American hair. To add insult to injury they gave me 5% off, sent me home with conditioner and wet hair, and said i could visit tomorrow. Now instead of fixing their mistake they were ready to go home. I’ve visited the hair school numerous times however, this is the last I’m truly disappointed. So I’f you’re African American don’t come here because you’ll leave like I did with wet hair and color you didn’t ask for. Below is a picture of exactly how I left the school like a wet puppy with incorrect color.

So they really need to work on the learning leadership paying attention to the students. When they do it is only for major work however if you can't do the basics how can you do the complicated styling. I had to explain how to wash my hair and even detangle it. I eventually had to get someone involved for the straightening process, and they didn't even stay to see if she payed intention. They were so quick to go back to their phones. I honestly don't blame the student. They need miss Carmen back. Edit: I was still getting my hair done when I wrote this review. I sat in my chair for 5 HOURS for a simple wash and straightened. Once I made a complaint on the lack of leadership, the learning leadership said I need to go. So much for customer service.

Mimi was excellent. I went in for a Braid and got much more. The attention to detail to my braids and care of my braids was above and beyond. She also suggested a Tea Tree Scalp wash which I received and will get everytime I go. Paul Mitchell School you have a gem here and did a great job with teaching her

5 star doesn’t do this appointment justice. I had an appointment with Callie and it was amazing I had so much fun and it didn’t even feel like I was getting my hair done. She is the sweetest especially for doing highlights on my very long thick hair. I will be rescheduling to see her more but here’s her work

Amazing results! Essence has amazing talent and has given me the best results the two times I have been there. First time was an all over blonding session with a bit of root, and it came out perfectly. Today I went in for something completely different, a peekaboo color and brown on top. I am super happy with the results and am in love with my new look. Mr.John gave some assistance, and you can clearly see that he is very knowledgeable and friendly as well. I can not recommend Essence enough, and I look forward to returning. Thank you!

Got my hair done with Bianca and had a lovely experience! The wash bowl was like a spa, with a head massage and everything. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxing. I loved getting my hair curled by Bianca. Definitely recommend.

Shout out to Mr. Hernando and Alysia! They are the best teacher / student duo on the floor. Both of them are incredibly talented, professional and kind human beings. The haircut experience was a blast and the end result was red carpet worthy. Happy that the Paul Mitchell school was smart enough to hire Mr. Hernando and that they are attracting talent with as much passion and potential as Alysia. Thanks to both! Will definitely be back again soon ❤️

It was Great everything was very CLEAN & my student was very punctual and personable!! I got a perm done, and it was amazing! I also has 5/6” cutoff before that & had a was & style that was so good that’s why I decided to get perm Done!
