We have been here a few times now and loved it every time. The coffee is excellent. The breakfast is great. We tried the burger today which was excellent. Great food and great service - it’s become a regular for us

I had the lentil made with red lentils, and it was tasty! The bread served with it was so good with it. Then I had the Avocado Toast with a side of smoked salmon. Omg it was good, mmmm! Great service and quality food! The only downside was that it was busy, and the long line made it somewhat difficult to navigate to the water, condiments & silverware station. It was worth it, though!

To Άνθος είναι νόστιμη! Really, really delicious. My wife and I have been looking for a bakery like this for the past 2 years in Pittsburgh and found it. Easy 5/5. I'd recommend this place to anyone as a top spot to visit here in the Pittsburgh area. I work at a place that gets a lot of visitors, and this place is now on my shortlist for anyone who comes to Pittsburgh. But locals should absolutely visit Anthos too! Lengthy review below: We placed an order online somewhat later in the day (about 3pm, they stop taking orders at 3:30). They were out of a few items and a member of staff called to sort things out with us, but unfortunately Uber Eats had some glitch or bug and our order cancelled after a long wait. We decided to just make food at home, it was after 4 at this point. But a little later, a friendly and apologetic person with a Greek accent called next, very sorry to hear our order fell through. They recognized we were a new customer and wanted to make sure our first experience was a good one. They offered to give is a discount on our first order, but I told them it was not a problem and I understand. I promised we would order again, eventually. 2 days later we did, this time earlier in the day (enough to try the breakfast menu too). We made sure to order a feast. We ordered the olive fougasse, apricot danish, chocolate brioche, sourdough loaf, yogurt bowl, and croque madame. To our surprise, not only did they send a note but gave us a free cheese fougasse and apple tart as well. And even more to our surprise, every single item was outstanding. The fougasse is quite special. This may be one of the best I've had, it is not only authentic but absolutely gorgeous. And it was still hot when it arrived. This is a masterpiece and a wonderful gift to Pittsburgh. I worked at a bakery for years and know when something is made with real finesse. It has that gentle crunch and perfectly fluffy, stretchy texture you'd expect. Immaculate. I can't find a fault in it. The apricot danish beats out La Gourmandine's abricotine as my favorite apricot pastry in Pittsburgh. I could eat this every day. Just perfect. The chocolate brioche was heavenly. One of the regular breads we still make at home is brioche, simply because it is so hard to get one that lives up to the standard we are looking for. The gluten development was flawless. Just immaculate texture. The crumbly, crunchy sugar on the exterior and the heavy, rich chocolate chunks throughout make this piece something we are sure to get again and again. The yogurt bowl is everything my wife wanted and the croque madame was so good we had to fight over it. We can't wait to try their lunch items now! And these two items were what sealed the deal for us. A good bakery is, of course, a rare and special find. But one with good breakfast and lunch offerings is what we have been looking for since moving here. In San Francisco, Chicago, and Seattle, we had grown to love this kind of bakery-brunch combination and sorely missed them since moving to Pittsburgh. But now we've found our favorite place! I highly recommend coming here, to literally anyone in the area. And since it is so close to the transit stop, folks in the city and all along the south lines should give this place a try.

First visit here with friends for lunch. Service was a tad slow, depending on what you ordered. We enjoyed our meals; and we each sent home with a complimentary loaf of bread!

Was disappointed by the small amount of pastries available. My husband’s breakfast sandwich was good but my eggs, bacon, and toast were 100% overcooked. We weren’t a fan of the coffee either. I really want to like this place so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt that they were having a bad morning. Will try again later.

This is the best bakery/cafe in town, period. The breads are extraordinary, country sourdough a favorite. The raisin country sourdough is the best breakfast bread I’ve ever had. Other breads also as gorgeous to look at as they are to eat (see pic). And the people are always gracious and helpful. It is a joy to visit this cafe.

Had lunch there yesterday. Greek food was delicious. A hidden gem in Castle Shannon. Feel like you are in a quaint little bistro in Greece. Place is always busy so that’s usually a sign it’s good. There is limited parking on the street but a parking lot right below the place next to the Willow inn. I had the vegetable quiche, my friends had the chicken on a stick and my other friend the turkey sandwich. The salads are huge and try the Greek donuts. Sooooo good. Large selection of pastries too. Will definitely be returning.

This was our first experience at this outstanding restaurant that is about 1 year old. We had brunch and the food & service were excellent. Although the acoustics are a bit loud, it was perfect for families with young children. We had an assortment of breakfast/brunch foods including the Greek bowl, mushroom toast, turkey sandwich, and assorted breads & pastries. Everything was perfect: absolutely delicious and fresh. I also had the Greek coffee (identical to Turkish coffee), which was fantastic. I was so enamored with the pastries that we bought some to take home. My only critique are the acoustics, but with our granddaughter toddler, it was fine. I was surprised that this establishment wasn't on Trip Advisor since it was so good. We would definitely return to Anthos!

The food is so good! The pitas are especially amazing. The vibe is also wonderful and everyone is so kind. A lovely vacation to Greece in a meal.

My wife and I met friends at Anthos this morning and had an incredible first-time experience. Beautiful and super clean restaurant with very pleasant and helpful staff. The breakfast foods/pastries and coffee were truly exceptional! Breads and pastries are all made fresh daily. Got some goods to go and am really enjoying those, too. Can’t recommend Anthos more highly! Will definitely be going back… ♥️😋

Anthos has very quickly become my new favorite spot for brunch on weekends. The atmosphere is a great vibe and the staff is so friendly. The food is AMAZING and the lattes are incredible too. If you’re gluten free too their bread is so yummy and honestly the best bread I’ve ever had. The owner gave me and my boyfriend a free bakery item the first time we were in just for being first timers. Everything is fresh and delicious and even after having a huge brunch we didn’t feel sick or stuffed from eating too much. You can tell they use healthy ingredients and put so much effort and love into their business and customers.

This place is so wonderful. Definitely top 5 best cup of coffee I’ve ever had. The meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Highly recommend!

👍👍 Best gyro in the area hands down. Really awesome food here and the prices aren't that bad. Got the special, which had a gyro, fries, and a soda, for $10. Great food. Really friendly staff, awesome lunch spot.
