Why didn’t I do this sooner?! I live near a big lake and lagoon and never thought about doing standup paddleboarding until last summer! Kirsten was an excellent teacher and had me standing on the board on the first day! I took another level one class this summer to feel more secure and again— an awesome experience! Kirsten encourages community building within the class so I walked away from both camps with new friends —- as well as a new sport that I can do for the rest of my life!

I’ve participated in many different events:programs at Chicago SUP!! All the programs they offer are 5-star! From private lessons, Camp SUP, board rentals, racing team, yoga, and breath/mediation sup… I’ve never once been let down. They are extremely professional and always have your safety in mind! (Plus a lot of photos!)

I took the SUP level 1 camp with Kirsten and I enjoyed every aspect of the experience. Everyone in our class had varying experience levels on day 1 and Kirsten made sure that we all had fun and learned something to improve or gain new skills, no matter what our prior experience had been. She taught us that SUP is a social sport and through this class I made connections that I hope will carry on to more paddling together and building community :) Kirsten also makes sure to get photos of everyone, which I love!! I highly recommend SUP camp to anyone with even the slightest interest in paddleboarding!

We were at the North Ave Beach location. It ended up being very windy and so wavy that we were carried out very far and could not make it back. There were 5 of us. SUP had no rescue plan. EJ, a paddle board instructor, was great and attempted to rescue us with a jetski (that they almost didn't let him take), but even the waves were too much for the jetski (we flipped on the jetski during rescue attempts). We ended up being rescued by complete strangers on a boat who were nice enough to bring us and our boards on. SUP shouldn't have allowed paddle boarding that day, and if they were, they should have rescue plans in place. EJ was great, 10/10 would recommend EJ though.

Bought a ticket for the “Sip & SUP” event through Chicago bucket listers. After commuting an hour to get here to for event, the place was completely shuttered and nobody was here. No phone call, email or nothing.

I had the absolute privilege of attending a sunset SUP Yoga session and it was divine. There was a bit of a breeze but Lake Michigan was warm and the gentle rocking of the board was so relaxing. This is a must do, especially if you are traveling alone!

Ian and crew were amazing. They welcomed me, an out-of-towner, and made sure I got a lake paddle experience. Thanks!

I took Camp SUP with Kirsten as well as have a 10-hour pass for rentals - Everything has been awesome! Kirsten gave me great advice on how to fix my terrible paddle technique and control the board better. When I come in on my own for rentals, the staff is always super friendly.

Chicago SUP is the best. My friends and I started off with a lesson, which I highly recommend. They’ll teach you how to hold the paddle (it isn’t common sense), several basic strokes, and how to stand up on the board. I’ve been back countless times since- I’m hooked. I’ve done sunrise paddles (beautiful), a full moon paddle (equally beautiful), and learned from the amazing resident Pro in Camp Sup and privates. I recommend it all. Ian and the Camp Sup staff are very helpful!

They make it simple. If you’re just looking to hop on and paddle board, this is the place.

Renting paddleboards here was easy and seamless. We bothered Ian a ton before getting there, but he answered all of our questions and was very helpful! Our guide Alex gave us a good little tutorial before we went out which was helpful. The wind changed when we were out there, and we kept getting taken out really far (where we weren't supposed to be). After we fought our way back in, Alex and Ian informed us that they had eyes on us the whole time and were ready with a jetski in case we got out of sight. Overall, it was fun and this rental company is cool!

This the second year I’ve been paddling with Chicago SUP. I’ve done it all: rented a board, bought a package of rentals, taken a lesson with a pro, attended Camp SUP, participated in the sunrise paddles and even joined the race team. I started as a very anxious beginner. I’ve grown more confident over time. All the staff is extremely professional and courteous. They make summer in Chicago a real treat!

Kiersten was a great instructor! My friend who had never done any SUP in the past, was standing up and paddling within 10 minutes of Kierstens direction. Location is beautiful, price is right, all staff is super helpful, laid back and happy! Id def go again, and im looking forward to a sunrise, and moon lit paddle next! Much love to Chicago SUP! ✌🏻💚🤙🏼🙌🏼
