In the second half of the 19th century, the estate in Korzkwy became the property of the Polonized Moravian Szenic family. In 1856, it was purchased by Fryderyk Józef Szenic, married to Nepomucena née Grocholski. In 1872, after Nepomucen and Józef, Korzkwa was given to their eldest son, Józef junior. He had already participated in the January Uprising Although Józef Szenic was a brave man, he was a poor farmer and he put Korzkwa so seriously in debt that the liabilities began to exceed the value of the property. In a large, beautiful oval hall, the Szenic family hosted some of the most magnificent banquets and lavish receptions in the area. There used to be mirrors on the walls, but only small fragments have survived today. In 1898, the indebted estate fell into the hands of Józef's son, Artur Szenic. He realized from the very beginning that maintaining the burdened patrimony would not be easy, because such estates were confiscated by the German Colonization Commission. However, thanks to the strength of character, diligence, professional knowledge and a frugal lifestyle, Artur managed to put Korzkiwy "on the straight." In 1911, Artur built a new, comfortable manor house in Korzkway for his growing family, built in the "Polish" style. Szenic managed the estate in a modern way, built new farm buildings and a colony of houses for farm workers. The owner had a telephone in the manor, and near the stables and coach house there was also a place for the Belgian Minerva, a car purchased in the 1930s. Artur Szenic was a social activist, he was active in an agricultural club and was a delegate to the district assembly in Poznań. After Poland regained independence, he was elected starosta of Pleszew. During the war, the Germans evicted the rightful owners and handed the property over to the German aristocrat Ernest Krug von Nidda. The village remained in his hands until 1945. After the war, the estate was nationalized and the manor house served various functions over the years, most recently as a restaurant.

A beautiful manor house, but entry to the property is impossible. The manor was built in 1911 for Artur Szenic in the so-called Polish style. It was a thoroughly modern facility - sources mention such amenities as a telephone. Apparently the luxurious Belgian Minerva was also kept in the coach house. After the war, the facility was used for various purposes - most likely belonging to the State Agricultural Farm, for years there was also a restaurant here, famous for its good food and dancing. Unfortunately, its closure resulted in a slow degradation of the facility.

Korzkwa Manor, built in 1911, was owned by Artur Szenic, and later by his widowed wife and her second husband, Józef Osmecki. After World War II, the manor was nationalized and inhabited by repatriates. Later there was a restaurant there and then the facility was sold to private owners. The manor was not renovated, it was only secured... for more, visit my blog "On the ruins of history"

A place with potential in private hands, secured with a park. Let's hope someone will do something about it someday.

I will say that it is very damaged and neglected, but it has great potential and is waiting for better times, but will it survive?

A forgotten place, you can feel the history, you can see its former glory... but if it continues like this, it won't last long....

Dwór piękny ale zaniedbany. W okolicy chwasty, nieład. Teren prywatny, wejścia nie ma.
