Casa convertida en museo de Gregorio Álvarez, médico y primer maestro patagónico. Humanista y prolífico autor de libros sobre Neuquén como "El tronco de oro". En este lugar funciona un centro de interpretación con fotografías, mobiliario que le perteneció y libros que escribió. Está casa Museo depende de la Dirección Provincial de Patrimonio Cultural del Ministerio de las Culturas del Neuquén.

Very nice place to visit and learn about one of the most important people the city and the province had. Everything is very well organized, like a chronological tour of the life of Gregorio Álvarez. The local people are very friendly and know a lot about it.

Very nice experience

The Gregorio Álvarez Museum was formed in 1986, in what was a building built in 1901, where a workshop of the Compañía de Ferrocarril del Sud operated. It currently preserves its original façade and bears the name of someone who was an illustrious citizen of Neuquén, Dr. Gregorio Álvarez: writer, poet, academic professor, dedicated to the history and identity of the Province of Neuquén. The museum complies with a clear and historical tour.

A new cultural space and house museum, which the Undersecretariat of Culture of the Province of Neuquén, restored and makes available to the residents of the city and each inhabitant of the Province. There are guided tours provided by staff from the Undersecretariat and activities aimed at promoting different artistic disciplines.

Beautiful guided tour that allowed us to discover a man of our science and our culture. Lucio and Pablo are two bosses who give you all the fun and give you added value that sometimes guided tours do not have by adding information and recommendations. The mural by the architect Liliana Montes Le Fort together with the sculptures by Sock Raffo form a work that should not be missed if one visits the capital of Neuquén.
