The restaurant is located very close to the ancient stadium and was pretty much the only place that served decent food. Everyone else only had pizza, pasta and even worse, only sandwiches. And that at lunchtime. It was lovely to get a cold beer after a long stroll through the city in the heat. The pretty girls who served us were very friendly and enchanted us with their smiles. The prices are already high, but it is compensated by the size of the portions. We shared the main course and were very full. The taste was excellent. I deducted one star because there was always no light in the toilet rooms and you couldn't use them at all. The lady literally didn't respond to the requests at the nearby bar. She simply ignored the guests.

This restaurant is such a joke! Pitty for the location! Slow and inadequate staff. We ordered one of of "special dishes" present in the menu - schnitzel. What we got - you may look at the picture. And we were waiting for this 45 minutes. They serve the worst biscuit cake that we've ever tried. Don't waste your time and taste there!

We love this place!! Im a Bulgarian from Krumovo( Plovdiv). My wife is Czech and we just love visiting the Arena restaurant. She just loves it! :) 'Its our place' :) We always go there when we visit Plovdiv. Food is awesome, service is spot on. The dishes are...OMG!!!! Do yourself a favor and visit the place! We are all different people, some see grey, others - dark white! So it all depends, right. Some people are just...they judge more and are less forgiving! :) So you gotta see it for yourself, that is the only way to truly assess something objectively! I can only give a high rating of the Arena restaurant after countless visits. Hope this review helps both visitors and the restaurant & staff ( spreading the word).

Very delicious food and fantastic cocktails! Traditional meals are amazing. We ordered "Kiln Arena". It was very big portion that was cooked very delicious. We will come again!

Restaurant was very quiet on a Sunday afternoon but the salad was good and they had plenty of menu options which would suit everyone. The service was fast and the staff friendly and efficient. Very good value for money. They had food and water out for the local cats which was very cute.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - waited 1.5 hours for a plate of fries (see photo), expensive, small portions, frozen foods (20lv. for a frozen pizza). The fries were inedible and stuck to the plate. An absolute tourist trap, to be avoided under any circumstances.

Our order took too long to arrive, and (ironically) when it did arrive, the chicken thighs were dangerously raw. The restaurant seems to have overall low standards, but due to its favourable location probably attracts many tourists such as ourselves. I urge others to not fall for it too.

Location is good, the frappe was very good but food was not, even the salad had not fresh vegetables, the waitress was polite and nice but only one for all tables and everything was happening very very slow. For beer and coffee is good if you are not in hurry

Great place in the center of Plovdiv, but too high prices for what you order. We sat down with my friends to have dinner and we were not impressed with the food, besides we waited for half an hour until one of the waitresses arrived and told us that the system had not recognized our orders. I don't know how far he was telling the truth, but we didn't make it a problem, despite the long delay... The food arrived, there are also minuses.. Spaghetti Bolognese and Carbonara were not well cooked, sometimes stuck together, sometimes crunchy (I guess because they were in a hurry to be served to us), in addition, they had very little sauce, almost dry. The tomatoes in their Shop salad were almost green and tasteless... :( The tarator, beer and irish were great, but not something that would make us go back, sorry.

we had less food than we ordered come, we had flies flying all over us and the food, dirty cats everywhere, rude staff and dirty atmosphere and no staff tried to get the dirty street cats to go away

Very friendly staff. Great prices. Fresh juices really cheap. Overall a great experience and I would certainly recommend this for a lunch.

One of the oldest restaurant in the area but its all old glory…The service is so so, the food is medium, the quantity and quality doesn’t match the description. Sadly, it will be my last visit, as it was one of the good places to eat, but not anymore…

Old-fashioned, rather dark ambience, grim service, mediocre food at overpriced prices, croony music that's too loud, no soap in the toilet (charged at 2 leva if you're not a guest)... Below average in relation to the general gastronomy in Plovdiv.

Their food is a complete abomination.
