More than a great welcome at the hotel. They immediately upgraded our room with a better one, for free. The receptionist noticed that my wife had a birthday and after we returned after dinner she was expecting a gourmet cake with wishes from the hotel. We were with our dog and they had made a bed with a sheet for him! , bowls and even a toothbrush !!! The staff throughout the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful! I highly recommend it!

Very happy with my stay at this hotel. Deluxe room, 8th floor. Reception staff are all kind and efficient. The hotel itself is well-located and surrounded by tonnes of restaurants, shops, and amenities. The main tourist zones are a quick walk. Parking situation is excellent and the garage is monitored 24/7. Hotel and all facilities were clean and well maintained. I heard that some of the older, non-renovated rooms are less than perfect, so it may be worth it to splurge on the deluxe room, which was priced very well. Views from the room were good.

Bedrooms are a bit old but very clean and put together. Breakfast is very good. Service is very good. Love the location and the casino inside is a nice place to play.

We have not stayed in the hotel, but we visited the spa. It’s hard to classify this as a spa, mainly there are kids’ swimming lessons, going in the pool is only with swimming hat. They have sauna, steam bath and salt room, but salt room is kinda off. If you are imagining a nice cozy day at the spa with a cocktails this is not the place for you.

Oldies but goldies... One of the old Hotel in town, but it is good and reliable. We happy to stay and do not hesitate to come back again.

Grand Hotel Plovdiv is a fantastic location at a walking distance from the city centre. We finished our stay here, the parking service is excellent - underground parking. The service is exquisite, the rooms are spectacular and we were lucky to have a splendid view of the city. There are 5 star hotels that are way behind the breakfast service of this place. Anything and everything and it was delicious! And the traditional cookie deserves its own night of booking, I’d replace the entire breakfast with it. The restaurant is really really excellent! We had trouble finding the toilet haha. It was actually a small different room. If this hotel suddenly became a 5⭐️ place I wouldn’t be surprised, it has everything. Maybe the spa could use some improvements. I want to come to Grand Hotel Plovdiv again.

I would have given 5 stars, if everything was perfect. But i found sticky spot on my room desk, also missing wine glass and no minibar menu. Thats minor. The roomservice menu should be also available in print, not only as qr code. Ameneties such as bath, towels, couch, extra coffee table, bathrobe etc. and service are otherwise great. Did wake up with cleaning noises at 7:30, that I find too early for hotel. I don't wish to hear cleaning before check-out. So thry must have cleaning isssue to address. Also nice aroma in the rooms is missing. But river view is great. Food is ok in the Vienna restaurant, but the quality and taste could be improved. Overall great impression. Spacious rooms. Wonderful pool. Perhaps salt room not functioning and should be fixed. Still great service.

The room was excellent. The SPA is not included and you have to pay additionally(even tho on the website you reserve with SPA Center). In addition, it is quite small , not worth the money. Food was okay, nothing special. Lower quality compared to the other Grand Hotels in Bulgaria.

A large hotel that includes a casino, a cafe, a spa, an indoor pool and jacuzzi and a bowling alley on the basement floor. The hotel and the rooms are clean and tidy and the rooms are large. The room has a mini bar, a safe, a kit with an electric kettle for making coffee and a refrigerator. The service of the staff is welcoming and pleasant. The hotel has 2 restaurants where you can have meals. We stayed half board and had breakfast and dinner. The breakfast was rich, varied, fresh and delicious. So is dinner. A short walk away is Plovdiv's pedestrian mall with various shops and the city's antiques. We will return to this hotel.

An old, worn-out building. The heater is not working. There isn't even a hair dryer in the rooms. It's a 2nd class place, it definitely doesn't deserve the money it gets!

Lovely 4-5 star hotel in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Located just north of the old town centre of Plovdiv, Grand Hotel Plovdiv is a luxurious and large hotel/spa/conference centre. Upon first sight it looks like the old large Soviet hotels famous throughout Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Bloc of the USSR, but on closer inspection inside, one will see how beautifully it has been restored. With a large gleaming night-club area, shopping area that leads down to a large indoor pool with accompanying changing rooms, showers, and the indoor hot dry Sauna and wet Sauna and a salt sauna, and jacuzzi by the main pool. All are clean and well maintained. I had a massage in the therapy centre which was very good. My room was on the 8th floor and was large, spacious and well appointed. Not sure about the winter motif in the summer months, but it was very comfortable, and, rarely in western hotels these days - a fully stocked mini bar!!! I didn't consume anything but the small fridge was handy. Finally, I stupidly left my Kindle (electronic book) charging in the hotel, which I remembered about two hours later. I quickly email and messaged the hotel and arranged with them for DHL to courier my Kindle to the UK for me. The reception/reservation staff were very helpful and just emailed acknowledgement of my email saying my Kindle had arrived here ok. The reception staff tried very hard to get me a taxi on my last day calling several companies. Many times the reception staff were very helpful. I'd thoroughly recommend them.

During our visit we received an upgrade from the lower (unrenovated floors) to the top floors which were renovated. We cannot say what the lower floors look like, but the standard room on the topfloor is amazingly styled. The lobby is very luxurious and the staff very friendly. In the lobby there is a heavy scent of roses or anything else too sweet that is rather unpleasant. Breakfast is extensive and well taken care of.

Liked the hotel! Would love if they dont charge for mineral water in the room at list give two bottles also not charging entering the swimming pool! Some on the desk of the hotel shoud smile more and not looking angry… most of them were o.k!

Not impressed. Rooms are dated and air con leaked. Worst of all was taking my disabled son to the pool and then only when leaving was informed I had to pay. Not only for my son, but me who stood by the side of the pool and also my wife who just came to tell us it was time to eat. Tried to charge €20 each......which was later admitted by the hotel to be a mistake. Not what I expect from a 4 star hotel.

The entire hotel smelled of old cigarette smoke, including the bedroom. The hotel is a very large, communist style hotel, in desperate need of a renovation. The hair dryer in the bathroom was a fire hazard and the room was surface-clean only. The decor is out of date and the adjoining night club and casino give the hotel a very weird vibe. The location is great and the staff were friendly.

Cleaning, they didn't clean the room, they didn't care to put soaps or toilet paper. The dining room is small and fills up quickly. They open another hall and arrange large tables.

The hotel is nice, the rooms are huge. We stayed in the luxe rooms which are relatively old. But very clean. There are only a few electrical outlets, none near the beds. Beds are very comfortable. Breakfast is okay plus. We had a deal with dinner, which was not good, so we ate outside of the hotel. Service - most don't speak English well but most try to help and are kind. One in particular was *** amazing, her name is Pepa. Very professional, veru useful, very kind, very nice.

Great location, 10min walking from the main attractions, free parking, very good buffet breakfast, not giving 5 starts due the check in time, after 25 min of wait I gave up and have decided to return after 2 hours. A large tourist group was checking in at the same time, I suggest to keep one desk open for people outside the tourist groups.

Really a fantastic Hotel. Rooms spacious and clean with ample in the mini bar including drinks and snacks. The hotel has secure underground parking. There is plenty to do inside including saunas, massage, casino and restaurant to name a few. Staff are very polite and helpful and speak great English. Spent 3 nights here was good.

If you are tired after a long day, don't go there. Hammering starts from 8 AM. I called the reception, asked them to make it stop. After 30 minutes it stopped, after 10 minutes it started from another room which was much closer to my room. Also there is no shampoo in their swimming pool's shower room. Breakfast was a disaster, most of the foods were either raw or rotten. So much of a 4 stars hotel...

Very well located hotel. I was kindly upgraded to one of the renovated rooms which are very good. Gym is large enough for all types of workout. Staff was particularly diligent and helpful, even at 3am when I had issues with my rented car. Highly recommend!

Overall the experience is good. We paid for the Deluxe room so this may differ for others. The room itself is great, very spacious and there is a good view of the town. The location is also great as it is a 10min walk to most attractions and restaurants. However, although we paid for the deluxe room the facilities were not included and we were told that we need to pay extra per visit and rent flip-flops and caps etc which made zero sense considering they own these facilities. The gym equipment was quite dated but was included in the price. I personally booked this place for the pool and sauna specifically and I found it quite disappointing.

Big comfortable rooms. The staff is really friendly and eager to help out with everything. There is a pool, sauna, jacuzzi and wellness center, shops, hairdresser, bowling... The café inside the hotel is very good, dishes are always well served and tasty.

My review is for the Spa zone - and especially for the swimming teacher Veselin. He's just great - and all the staff in the Spa. My daughter loves swimming thanks to him. Also kudos for the amazing staff in Vienna cafe - they're always super smiling and polite. I'm from Plovdiv that's why can't give a feedback for the hotel rooms but I'm sure they're also great 🍀

My room at floor 2 was with old carpet, the smell was like a heavy smoker has been living there for 5 years and has left yesterday. The sheets were clean and pillows were okay. The tap in the bathroom sink was moving by itself too close to the edge making washing not comfortable. The service is good except that they didn't pick up too often the things left in front of the rooms of bunch of us soldiers who seem to have been taught to throw their bags with waste there.

The service is good, the deluxe rooms are spacious, newly furnished, with nice view to the city. The swimming pool is at additional price but it's quite good, the breakfast is OK.

Well located across Old Town, next to pedestrian bridge over the Maritsa River. Free parking. Hotel public areas a bit dark. Rooms not very luxurious or cosy, reasonably comfortable beds view was awesome though. Blackout curtains. Was waken up in middle of night by what appeared to be drunk people. Buffet breakfast functional, lacking fresh juice and other tasty items.

Because I was asked to give feedback on my low rate, here it is: firstly, the room is a genuine time capsule. That is room 226 to be exact. Old furniture, old tiles and bathroom amendments, shower head in the sink 😂, bidet under the towel rack in the bathroom, showerhead spraying so hard it makes the shower curtain fan. The sink shower leaks heavily. Five day we stayed there, and no one came to clean. It was explained that we should ask for cleaning 😂. At a four star hotel I shouldn't have to ask that. Trust me, I've been to real four star hotels. In addition, every other thing we had to pay, for the swimming pool, for the parking, etc. So, there you have it, dear Grand hotel. You can contact me for further information.

Great experience, comfy fresh room, got at upgrade and had a room with incredible view. Perfect location. Parking outside and in the underground parking, they even provided me with a plug to charge my car in the underground parking. Good breakfast!

Rooms are clean and tidy but a bit dated. It's a lovely hotel down stairs. Staff are friendly breakfast is brilliant and food is lovely in the restaurant. Would recommend it as a place to stay.

The photos od the room look nice but the smell (stench) you feel when you get out of the elevator and get inside the room is unexplicable, it’s disgusting…unless they have some renovated rooms this hotel is a huge mistake. I guess it was a great hotel 10-15years ago :(

I’ve tried to book a room for my anniversary. The actual hotel website was alright but when I’ve tried to pay online ,the payment system they have chosen wasn’t working properly. I’ve tried few times and then l gave up. Then l called the hotel and explained my situation. The lady on the phone wasn’t exactly nice and made me feel like I’m stupid or something. Then she took my phone number and said they’ll call me later in the day to solve my problem (probably they never did because wasn’t a Bulgarian phone number) Anyway nobody called or helped me out! So for my very special day l just found another lovely hotel. Their lost 🤷🏻‍♀️

Everything was excellent. I gave only 3 stars because a usb cable (4 euros) from my car was stolen by a security man employed in the hotel. There was no parking place in the garage, I was said to park the car in front of the hotel and he offered to park better. The next day I realized that the cable was stolen. Otherwise I would give 5 stars.

Room had an odd smell, they didn't care to check if our cards were functional causing me to get stuck in the elevator. Didn't apologize or even care from the looks of it

The rooms have recently been renovated. Very nice and modern indeed! The hotel is close to the old town. Certainly my preferred hotel when in Plovdiv.

😠 When i came into the casino i felt for the first time like i am a piggy bank made to be exploited: rude setup to start the gambling as if we are chuligans, then put 10 bgn and after winning 40 cents lost every try until 0. Betting sums are big, they want you to dry out fast, dont gamble children.

😠 I was recently for the first and last time, you certainly don't get up, you don't have a discalt, raffle and the machines don't give anything and you have to constantly go to the ticket office, it's not enough that you take the money like a llama and I have to walk to the ticket office like a subord...
