One of my favorite places in Plovdiv, a haven in the midst of the city! Wonderful all year round with their garden and interior dining rooms done in traditional Bulgarian style. Ivan the waiter is great: professional, efficient & speaks English. I highly recommend 19th Century!

Food was really really good. My serving was massive and good for the price. The service was terrible though. The waiter seemed annoyed with our existence there, and when paying they did not bring back any of our change, which meant a 15% tip. Good food but go elsewhere for Bulgarian food if you want to feel welcome and not be ripped off.
