This is a Communist monument created in the late 70's by the renown Bulgarian sculptor Lyubomir Dalchev. Its unique in its form, idea and decoration. As all the monumental art from the Communist period this one is left to decay and is always closed. Ic you go there look for the person in charge around the monument so he can open it for you. Also, the monument is in a great big park, great for a walk.

In Feb 2016 I got robbed there. There were people who actually saw it, but they just ignored it. I probably will never again go there. Lol. So long story short, I was with one friend. As we were sitting two guys came and acted normally. They stopped right next to us and started saying we to give everything. Then fallowed a 5 minute repeat of me saying "no" and the perpetrators "yes". After that time one of the guys actually pointed a gun at me(whether it was real or not, at that time I was terrified) . It's a long story. From that day I haven't gotten there, just moved passed it.i Should've called the police, but never did. Now 2 years later, I actually think that day changed my life for the good as I it exposed friends etc. That's my story from this place.

It's one of the most interesting structures (monument) in Plovdiv. This monument contains a sculpture composition spanning 90 meters that commemorates the liberation of Bulgaria from the Ottoman Empire, the unification of Bulgaria, the Bulgarian partisan movement and the victory of socialism in 1944. Upon completion, the memorial complex housed the remains of Plovdiv region partisans. It was inaugurated on 9th September 1974 in honor of Bulgaria's 30th anniversary of the "socialist revolution." // At present, the memorial is locked with chains and covered in scrawl, the eternal flame in the middle of the hall has died and has never been relit.

This site should really be cleaned up and kept cleaned up. Graffiti completely mars it. It is locked but you can see much of it through the gate.

Must see piece of brutalism. A pity that it’s that vandalized. There is a guy who has the keys to go inside, but we kind of misses him when we came at 12:00pm. Aldo you see children climbing and playing on it do it kind of lost it’s status..

Really cool soviet-era sculptures depicting the struggles of Plovdiv. Not sure what the opening hours are but there's a small opening in the gate which one should definitely not attempt to slide over when the gate is locked

A really interesting piece of history which has been left to naturally perish and deteriorate over time. Could be made into a fantastic museum, however currently is inaccessible and unkept.
