This was such a brilliant place to visit! We were really impressed by the number and range of planes on display. 12lv for a family ticket was very reasonable considering the quality of the exhibits. It's just outside Plovdiv airport - an easy trip from the centre.

The crown jewel of the Plovdiv Museum of Aviation undoubtedly lies in its remarkable exhibit—the "Soyuz-33" descent capsule. This iconic piece of history alone is worth the visit. However, the museum offers so much more. With a diverse collection of aircraft and artifacts, it provides a comprehensive journey through aviation history. From vintage planes to “cutting-edge” technology, each exhibit showcases the evolution of flight. The museum's informative displays and interactive features captivate visitors of all ages, making it a must-see attraction in Plovdiv. With its stellar exhibits and immersive experience, the Plovdiv Museum of Aviation earns a well-deserved five-star rating. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Nice little museum with some unique aircraft to see, like an Arado 196. It is a shame that most of them have to stand outside.

Some unusual Soviet era planes, like the early Yaks, as well as some recognisable favourites, like the Hind attack helicopter. Everything is surprisingly well looked after by owners who clearly care about the exhibits. Contrast this place to a similar museum in Krakow where pigeons and wasps were nesting in the planes. Definitely worth a visit for anyone who likes to look at planes.

That museum is really nice, even if you are not an aviation expert. The different kind of civil or military airplanes are very impressive! It is not very far from Plovdiv, and it is a nice walk.

Really interesting to look at the park with the many Russian aircraft as well as the 2 exhibition rooms with, among other things, the Soyuz landing capsule of the Bulgarian cosmonaut Gregori Ivanov. If you're in the area, you should go here!

Surprisingly well maintained planes from the Soviet era. Highly recommended! One advice: google want to use a closed road, so stop following google. Instead of try to reach Plovdiv airport and you will see the signs of the museum.

Very nice collection of aircraft/helicopters and a few trucks. The museum was also interesting (although an information board did put Italy on the wrong side in WW1, which is a bit embarrassing). One star removed because of lack of access to any aircraft and my experience of these exhibitions is that there are usually a couple where you can get inside and feel the history. The exhibition was great but a little cold.

Visited on Sunday. Adult ticket costs 8 leva. Huge variety of Soviet Union's airplanes made in 70's. I really appreciate volunteer work on resorting so many of them.

what a great place with a fantastic range of aircraft on display, very Surprised to see a Lockheed F104G Starfighter. The only problem with our visit was a very hot day, best to visit when the temperature is 25c or less

It is an amazing park museum accessible for all. The staff were very polite and explained a lot and answered all of our questions. It was really interesting to see all those historical planes.

One of the best places to bring kids and aviation fans. Lots of planes, choppers and nice and complete description in front of each one. Mostly Russian models but that is understandable. Good organization and arrangement overall for a very small fee.

An amazing collection of post WWII aircrafts with perfectly preserved exhibits. An impressive collection of artefacts from the Sovier Bulgarian space program from the 80s is presented. A place to visit.

Took two three year old boys who were very happy to see planes up close. It's an outdoor museum mostly with lots of previous Bulgarian airforce inventory - soviet equipment. Interesting place to visit for anyone wanting to see Warsaw pact era planes and helicopters, but also there's a small inside museum which contains a capsule from soviet space missions (which had Bulgarian participation), and some displays of the early air force (one of the first, if not the first in the world, to drop bombs during a war). Also, at the end, a military serviceman gave us a balloon over the fence, so that was nice. Good place to spend an hour and a half.

Really interesting, seeing all the old Cold War era military aircraft from the former Warsaw Pac countries. Highly recommended. However don’t use Google maps to get there, it took me along back routes down potholed roads, sealed and unsealed. Use the normal route to Plovdiv Airport and use maps from there.

We came on a working day - Saturday at 15:45. They said the working time is different in the winter season. There is no information about it anywhere! We had enough time for 5 grown people just to look around for half an hour and they didn't let us in! Very disappointed about the way they talked to us! Very rude and unpleasant staff!

It is good to update the information with working hours. We drove 400km to find it closed. We are in the 21st century after all.
