Great statue in a large square surrounded by benches. It was built in 1985 and commemorates 100 years since the unification of Bulgaria (already established kingdom) with Eastern Rumelia (capital in Plovdiv). These two states were established after the Russian-Ottoman war of 1877-1878 when Bulgaria gained its independence. The monument has a Communist feel to it which I find fascinating, it's a bit further from the old town

A statue standing to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the unification of Bulgaria. As artist and a sculptor I always appreciate sculptures, especially at grand scales like this one. The amount of work and skill involved always draws my deep respect. This statue is in the middle of a plaza, easily found.

A nice, large sculpture in a public square. There are several museums in the square. It's all just a short walk from the main pedestrian way.

I will be happy if it is clean and safe because they constantly ride skateboards there and I work there in the SCSO, the prosecutor's office is also an important location in Gr. Plovdiv
