Such an impressive site! An amazing view from the top and fascinating remains of the ancient city. Buy a guide book from the guys at the bottom as there's no information on the site. Footpaths are really nicely made and plenty of parking space. We visited on a Friday morning and it was quiet - only a few people there. You can also buy water at the entrance. Parking was 1 Lev, entrance was 6 Lev and guidebook was 4.

It's a nice place to visit it has a large parking with barbecue and souvenirs. The path to the top is around 30 minutes normal walking. And it's really big and well renovated.

It is a tough walk, especially on a warm and sunny day but when you get to the top it has a stunning view and a real sense of history. Nature and the ruins are stunning and you can walk around quite a bit and discover other paths or ruins. Do bring water when you go up. The chemical toilets at the start are in my opinion for emergencies only.

This ancient city is still being excavated today, and some say it will take another 10 years to complete. It is quite massive and sitting atop a mountain. It's best to go with a guide who can explain everything in detail. There is a 10-15 mins walk from the carpark to the top, and it's a moderately steep hike. It's no real issue for anyone like me who has a fear of heights. I managed it quite comfortably. Costs 6lev for admission plus 1lev for the carpark. There are stalls at the entrance selling every conceivable type of rock and crystal plus jewellery. One that definitely should not to missed.

The place is impressive, you can spend a comfortable hour browsing the site. Sorely lacks information boards though, you won't really know what you're looking at without reading up on it beforehand.

Maybe the most popular tourist attraction in the Rhodope mountains. An ancient place inhabited by different cultures throughout the centuries, with rich history. I recommend taking a guided tour so you could get the most from your trip.

The scale of the place is enormous. It took us around 2-3 hours to check out the whole location, though more is being discovered, so spending at least half a day is what I would recommend. You can grab a map at the entrance, though most of the places can be guessed in terms of their functionality just by looking at them. Having a guide with you is probably very useful so they can give more information and answer any questions that come up. The view is also incredible!

The Perperikon ancient site is a must go in the area. You can park your car for 1 lev near the site. Entrance is 6 lev a person. The walk from car park to the top is just 15 minutes. People sell tourist maps with interesting facts. The site is well preserved. Highly recommended

It's an incredible site thinking of how long it's been there, I would give it for but think how it's being managed is disappointing. It's a shame they are spending so much time and money on the entrance building instead of maintaining the pathways and cutting the growth back. Information signs are also faded. Plus 1lv for parking and .5lv to use a porta loo

The place itself is great. However, it's not maintained. All money for this project seem to be stolen as usual in Bulgaria. You nee to pay 3eur per person to see garbage all the place.

One of the most memorable and magnificent places. It is a huge complex and you should have at least 3h to see and be everywhere. Grand throne room, ancient sanctuary and the altar chamber was my best destinations. But there are a lot more and they still digging for new founding.

Fantastic site to explore. It is largely in ruim, but let your imagination run wild how it must’ve looked in its prime. Bring plenty of water though!

A lot to see, some uphill walking required, we spent a few hours at the location, it is big. There are tours that can be joined onsite.

Enormous megalithic structure, ancient sanctuary and remarkable views to the beautiful landscape around. Involves walking up, over stones and requires average to good physical condition..Wear good shoes, sunscreen, sunhat and carry 1-2 bottles of water.

Must see ruins of multiple historic settlements, dating back from 5,000 years ago. Alexander the Great was here! (You won't find this written on the wall, but it's a historical fact). Nice road to get there from Kardzhali, parking, and a few ways to get up to the top of the mountain. It should take no more than 30 minutes from parking to the gates. 6 leva at time of writing.

A lot of work went into uncovering the remains of the individual buildings. The views from the place are also wonderful. GPS 41.714640,25.46584

I was a little bit skeptical about the place, but we had a great tour guide and we learned a lot about this spectacular ancient place.

Mystic place! Archeologists still uncovering new artefacts and places. Just too hot to enjoy in the summer. Definitely we will revisit again in autumn or next spring.

It's an ancient place with a wonderful history. A huge minus is that there are not enough information on the spots. Some audio guide would be very useful too.

Amazing, must-visit place! Only make sure you bring enough water.

Awesome place full of ancient history. The walk to the top of the mountain is pretty tough if you are not used to hiking. It's a flat walk up to the beginning of the ruins. Then you will be walking in rough original steps. It's worth the trek because the views are amazing and the wind feels great. However, the wind is pretty strong, so hold onto your hats.

Found 20 years ago, this acient place is supposed to serve as Teacian sanctuary about 5000-6000 B.C. On late centuries it has been Christian centrum (till Vth century), fortress and probably abandoned when Bulgaria is conquered by ottomans. There is large parking. Prepare accordingly as there are steep terrain to climb.

Very nice place and walk (I believe I needed an hours with photos and all). You will need water and confrotable shoes. They offer guides, maps and books at the entrance since there are no explanatory signs inside and you would not know what was what. I didn't bought a map or else and still it was very nice. I would definitely recommend it.

😐 The park is not well maintained (like the whole city center). But in summer it's nice to sit on a bench in the shade and have an ice cream.
